    I've got a 2021 Navara STX that I pick up from the dealer soon and I too are concerned at the 20000km service interval. I am thinking of changing oil at 10000km and let the dealer do it at the 20000km.
    I am interested in the catch can but will have to check out if it affects warranty. Great video, thanks a lot. 👍👍

      @@owainbennett663 Yes you can. Buy the genuine Nissan oil filters from a different Nissan dealer. Follow my directions on this video on how to do it. I would do it at 5000kms for the first 6 times then move it out to 10000kms. Make sure you use the oil I suggested.

    Should I use my 5/30 C3 engine oil? or 5/30 C4 engine oil ?
    What is the difference between ACEA C3 and ACEA C4 oil ?

      Thank you for your message. I would always suggest to do as the owners manual says. C1,C2,C3,C4 &C5 are low saps oils. Low saps stands for low sulphated ash. I do know a while back Renault changed there C3 spec to C4 on the later models 2019 on but I suggest you consult Nissan themselves not a dealer but nissan. Unfortunately I sold my Nissan Navara a few years back due to unforeseen circumstances. I do miss it though. 🥺

    hey mate - nice video and thanks for the help. Question.....I used your technique of measuring jug for oil. Problem is .... Now I am unsure if A. you get more oil in the bottle than the bottle states or B. my jug is marked incorrectly. I have measured out 6.3L now and have found I still have 100ml left from a 5L and 1L bottle. When I got to 5L measured out the 5L bottle still had 300ml in it. When I emptied the 1L bottle I had another 100ml left in that bottle. So right now I have used the 2 bottles and still have 100ml sitting in the jug. So not sure if I am @ 6.3L or if I'm infact at 5.9L.

    • @mrkman5757
      @mrkman5757  3 роки тому +1

      Measuring jugs are important for measuring oil. I doubt your jug would be wrong.
      You could test your jug. Use a coke bottle fill it with water and measure it into your jug.

    The only problem I’ve heard with doing it every 10k is that there are no filters that can clean the oil for that prolonged time, that’s why I reckon the way to go is 5k, what you reckon ? Oil is not the problem filter is, I guess...

    • @mrkman5757
      @mrkman5757  4 роки тому +2

      There are many factors that go into determining your oil change intervals.
      1.Conditions
      2.Oil type
      3. How many air filters you run on the car.
      4. Quality of the air filters.
      I recommend 10,000 kms for most conditions. If your in very dusty conditions then 5000kms. 🍻👍Happy days bud.

      In the year 2000 Nissan was in trouble looking at bankruptcy so Nissan looked to Renault in france for help and that started a partnership which saw Renault have about a 40% stake in Nissan to the year 2023 now only 15% and hopefully soon 0%. The engine is made by Renault France the rest of the car is made by Nissan . When it comes to a joint venture not all the time are engines made for specific chassis and that's probably why the oil filter is not in the most accessible place. Hopefully soon Nissan might make another good engine for the Navara. I would like to see nissan make a small bore, long stroke ,straight 6 cylinder diesel high compression engine with a twin turbo compound setup followed by the new ZF 8HP hybrid electric motor automatic gearbox. Or a Small V6 equivalent. PLENTY OF POWER AND GOOD FUEL ECONOMY. 🛻⚡🏁
      En el año 2000, Nissan estaba en problemas al borde de la quiebra, por lo que buscó ayuda en Renault en Francia y eso inició una asociación en la que Renault tenía alrededor del 40% de participación en Nissan hasta el año 2023, ahora solo el 15% y, con suerte, pronto el 0%. El motor es fabricado por Renault Francia y el resto del coche es fabricado por Nissan. Cuando se trata de una empresa conjunta no siempre los motores se fabrican para chasis específicos y probablemente por eso el filtro de aceite no está en el lugar más accesible. Esperemos que pronto Nissan pueda fabricar otro buen motor para el Navara. Me gustaría ver a Nissan fabricar un motor diésel de alta compresión de 6 cilindros en línea, de carrera larga y de pequeño diámetro con una configuración de compuesto biturbo seguido de la nueva caja de cambios automática con motor eléctrico híbrido ZF de 8 CV. O un equivalente Small V6. MUCHA POTENCIA Y BUENA ECONOMÍA DE COMBUSTIBLE. 🛻⚡🏁

    Reckon it may be worth using the SAE guide and using a thicker oil as NSW doesn't hit those extreme low temps generally unless you're snow driving. I.e 5w 40 would be better for half the year at least.
    Remember they are trying to cater to all climates - Jack of all trades, master of none.

      I know this is a year ago but for those that read this, those oils will damage the engine in the long run. It’s not just about temps, it’s modern engine tolerances. Still with C3 5W-30 or 5W-40. Most Nth qld dealers will use the 5W-40.
