Hi would you do a workshop on basic changes and belt changes? I'm female and knowing this would be so good I can't imagine how many times I've been ripped off taking my car to a mechanic who in fact didn't follow through with what they quoted to do.
hey mate - nice video and thanks for the help. Question.....I used your technique of measuring jug for oil. Problem is .... Now I am unsure if A. you get more oil in the bottle than the bottle states or B. my jug is marked incorrectly. I have measured out 6.3L now and have found I still have 100ml left from a 5L and 1L bottle. When I got to 5L measured out the 5L bottle still had 300ml in it. When I emptied the 1L bottle I had another 100ml left in that bottle. So right now I have used the 2 bottles and still have 100ml sitting in the jug. So not sure if I am @ 6.3L or if I'm infact at 5.9L.
Measuring jugs are important for measuring oil. I doubt your jug would be wrong. You could test your jug. Use a coke bottle fill it with water and measure it into your jug.
The only problem I’ve heard with doing it every 10k is that there are no filters that can clean the oil for that prolonged time, that’s why I reckon the way to go is 5k, what you reckon ? Oil is not the problem filter is, I guess...
There are many factors that go into determining your oil change intervals. 1.Conditions 2.Oil type 3. How many air filters you run on the car. 4. Quality of the air filters. I recommend 10,000 kms for most conditions. If your in very dusty conditions then 5000kms. 🍻👍Happy days bud.
Great Vid. Just wondering what size the sump plug is, am after a magnetic one but I can’t seem to find the right size. Also where do I find a replacement o ring for the oil filter cover. Cheers
Hi, Thank you for your message. You will need to measure the sump plug with measuring callipers when you take the oil out next. The rubber o ring comes with every oil filter. The o ring should be in the oil filter box. Remember to oil the o ring. 👍
In the year 2000 Nissan was in trouble looking at bankruptcy so Nissan looked to Renault in france for help and that started a partnership which saw Renault have about a 40% stake in Nissan to the year 2023 now only 15% and hopefully soon 0%. The engine is made by Renault France the rest of the car is made by Nissan . When it comes to a joint venture not all the time are engines made for specific chassis and that's probably why the oil filter is not in the most accessible place. Hopefully soon Nissan might make another good engine for the Navara. I would like to see nissan make a small bore, long stroke ,straight 6 cylinder diesel high compression engine with a twin turbo compound setup followed by the new ZF 8HP hybrid electric motor automatic gearbox. Or a Small V6 equivalent. PLENTY OF POWER AND GOOD FUEL ECONOMY. 🛻⚡🏁

Reckon it may be worth using the SAE guide and using a thicker oil as NSW doesn't hit those extreme low temps generally unless you're snow driving. I.e 5w 40 would be better for half the year at least. Remember they are trying to cater to all climates - Jack of all trades, master of none.

I know this is a year ago but for those that read this, those oils will damage the engine in the long run. It’s not just about temps, it’s modern engine tolerances. Still with C3 5W-30 or 5W-40. Most Nth qld dealers will use the 5W-40.
