And I'm also sorry to hear about the loss of your mother years ago, I've dealt with some family & friend issues years ago like you, Lost my Grandma in 2020, Lost a couple of buddies and my sister in a time span by 2021 & 2022, and I lost my cat just last year recently!. So this song also speaks to me in many ways.

When I first listened to this song years ago back in 2006 just when I was getting to know more of U2, This version was great in many ways, but the Songs of Surrender Version is much more better than this, i'm not knocking off the original version, but still. The New Version from Songs of Surrender is more melancholy in many ways!
