Middle school kids are at the weirdest age. They’re not full teenagers, they’re not kids. They’re stuck in that, “What is my body doing???!!!!” age. Bless every Middle school teacher out there! Parenting them is hard enough, I can’t imagine corralling a room full of them.

I had a professor in college who always lectured while jingling the change in his pocket. Now that I have to stand in front of people all day, I realize it might have been his way to deal with anxiety. It's telling that I now do the same thing. 🤣🤣

College professors are a whole other level of strange. I had a professor once, that one evening when it was raining and apparently he forgot his umbrella, he took a box from a 24 pack of Dr Pepper and stuck it on his head to walk out to his car; he cut out eye holes and everything. He passed my girlfriend and I in the hallway and just acted like nothing was strange as he walked down the hall with a box on his head.
I had a substitute in middle school that used a dog clicker (like what you would use to train as a dog) as her classroom management technique. Any time someone was too loud or doing something wrong, she would click it at them until they stopped.

There was a teacher at my school who taught boys bible and he made me and a few other girls so uncomfortable. He would come to "check in" on his students but just make eye contact and talk to any girl that was sitting with them the entire time. It got to a point where the guys would stand up and walk away if they saw him come towards us just so that he wouldn't be around me because even they felt like it was weird. He's no longer aloud to teach my grade because of the amount of complaints that they got from parents, but for some reason he still hasn't been fired. He also discussed some inappropriate topics with the boys in his class but they were always worried to address it.

Here are some weird things my high school teachers did. I just graduated so I can’t wait to see the weirdness of post secondary:
Gr. 9 geography- talked about how and why he got his divorce, the different forms of protection for females, how he saves on his bills(not super weird but he talked about it a lot so I’m putting it here)
Gr.10 business- first day took a photo of us, so he could remember our names. Like he had to take a photo and put it into a girl with our names in it
Gr.12 business- constantly talked about his trips to Japan and China. Like to the point where I could recite his trips.
Those are some of the ones I remember off the top of my head. If your curious how the conversation ones happened I will happily explain

I had a teacher who decided when he was like 60 to become a teacher last year (freshman in high school). He kept leaning over his students to check in and placed his hand on my shoulder. Another time he said a sweatshirt I wore he said it looked good on me and I should keep wearing it. He denied for 3 months to follow my IEP b4 I switched out and actually started learning the subject, that was last year now I am scared to go back to that school because of him and other teachers I had last year

    A couple stories
First story, my 8th grade history teacher. Mid 60s. Absolutely adored him but he had MAJOR ADHD. He was jump and yell and run and GET ON THE DESKS. It wasn't uncommon to walk past his door and see him just walking around on the students desks, just teaching.
Second story. 10th grade history teacher. She was extremely Christian (nothing wrong with that). But she took it to the extreme. She spent every class for a week, ranting about me because I'm a goth Pagan. Like. Saying I'm gonna sacrifice my first born son to Satan, that I was giving blood sacrifices to him, etc. Would also start SCREAMING at us that we weren't going to go anywhere in life, that we were all failures, etc. It was so bad, I had voice recordings of it. Got her fired 🤷🏻‍♀️
I think my favorite teacher, though, was my science teacher in 9th and 10th grade. She was just so weird and extra but in the absolute best ways. She kept the class interesting and it was always so nice. I fell asleep in her class and woke up to her drawing on my arm with an expo marker. There's so many other stories I could tell about her 😩😩 One day I accidentally caused her to rant about a book series that I absolutely love for the entire class period. Like, me and her debating on what character was the best and the worst, etc

I had a teacher in high school that every morning would walk around the room, shake every student’s hand and do like a 10 second small talk. If we didn’t have proper eye contact or a firm enough grip she’d have you do it again or at least critique it. I’m not knocking her though, it was a little odd but otherwise she was a great teacher.

One of my favorite teachers was mostly retired, and he taught civics for just my class. I found out later on that he suffered from Parkinson's, but he was a pretty short older man who had been teaching since the beginning of time. He told us a story about how he used to throw things at the walls to wake up kids who had fallen asleep in class. One day, he was using an old projector, and he threw the spray bottle he would clean the transparencies with at the window, to wake up a kid. It broke the window and landed outside, and when the kid woke up completely shocked and confused, he said, "Now go get that spray bottle!" with a straight face, but he was dying inside. When I was in his class, there was a fight one day that broke out right in front of me and that teacher in the hallway, and when he tried to break it up, one of the kids hit him. The teacher next door (who was a large Jewish man from New York with the loudest voice I've ever heard) picked that kid up and literally threw him down the hallway. I swear it was like Mortal Kombat or something; I've never seen anything like it. That kid was not about to get away with hitting that little sweet old man. 😆

We had a couple of odd ones at my high school (I graduated in 1986 for reference).
One was a nun who taught US history. I never had her, but she was famous for her Friday 10-question quizzes, where the ones you had correct were worth 3 points, and the ones you got wrong were 5 points off. You could literally get a negative score! She was called Sr. Buff behind her back. It was meant as an acronym - Big Ugly Fat F_____. One day, someone called her Sr. Buff to her face by accident. When she asked what he called her, he couldn’t play it off, so he said it was her nickname because she was a history buff. She took great pride in the name after that - her classes could barely control their laughter.
The other was an economics teacher who quite infamously sexually harassed several female students, to the extent that his wife was one of his former students. The final straw was when parents of 5 freshmen he had harassed my senior year finally officially went to admin about him. He was allowed to officially resign, but could not ever have a teaching license in our state again, and if he went through intensive counseling and managed to get licensed in another state, then our school would write him a letter of recommendation.
We also had two gym teachers. The male one was 20 years older than the female one. Our school building was one level, no pool. The seniors always “initiated” the freshmen by selling them tickets to the (non-existent) elevator to use the upstairs pool. We also tried to convince them the gym teachers were married to each other. Well, they actually got engaged during my senior year, and married each other during my freshman year in college.

My sister and I went to high school together for a year. I was a senior, she was a freshman. We both had the same exact teacher for two totally different classes. This teacher was nicknamed "Ms. Psychotic" for a good reason. First, she was at the age where she should have retired before I even went into high school, and second, she got would get LIVID if we touched the walls. This teacher already met me and despised me so when she found out she had my sister, she tried to make the school year a living hell for my sister, but that backfired big time. My sister and her friends got her fired after reporting to the principal that she was throwing writing utensils at them for no reasons as well as choking one of other students. She was for some reason told to take early retirement or lose her pension, but she never got to teach a class ever again.
I also had a driver's ed teacher that was nicknamed "Mr. Perv." because he would tell girls that he would give them automatic "A's" for the final driving grade if they wore low-cut shirts for the entire semester. Of course, no one was able to prove it however, upperclassmen would always alert the freshman girls to not wear low-cut shirts for this class for as long as this teacher was at the school.

🖤 love it! Weird teacher story, I’m a senior high school teacher (of 15yrs) and I’m definitely known for being weird and extra (I love my fashion but am quite alternative) but also have the reputation for ‘bug killer’. I’m in Australia but a suburban public school , so we occasionally get bugs, critters etc in classrooms or the grounds. I’m often the one that gets called if to come assist and depending what it is I’ll either carefully relocate it or squash it very decisively ;) makes me laugh every time that people get so worked up about them - even funnier that my own daughter is terrified of birds, I just don’t get it but would NEVER think to mess with people over them - that’s so cruel, don’t mess with peoples fears!!
Love the channel btw 🖤 I’m on leave atm due to health stuff and y’all are reminding me about what I miss and making me eager to get back to my kids. It broke my heart to have to suddenly leave them with no notice but it wasn’t a situation that could be helped 🖤

I had a high school English teacher who would play loud music between class and stand outside her room and dance. And she would be trying to get other teachers and students dancing. She even would loudly call out names of students who were not dancing when they walked into the class. It was embarrassing for me who was very much an extreme introvert who hated receiving any kind of attention, and it would be my full name.

My 3rd grade teacher was really strict. She quoted a "quaker rule". In the quaker church meetings they would say "quaker meeting has begun, no more talking, no more fun, the one who shows teeth or tongue will have to pay a forfit." I guess it was a way to keep everyone quiet. She changed it to school day has begun...
If you talked out of turn, your name went on the board, 3 strikes and you lost 10 min at recess. But on Halloween She would show up dressed as a witch, like Hollywood style, scary witch. She would tell us she was her sister and had locked her up at home and we had one fun day a year. She was strict, but I always felt cared about. I loved her. When she discovered my love for reading she would get the librarian to set aside stacks of books for me. I read all of Louisa may Alcott, all the Montgomery books, and many other classics in 3rd grade because she told me I could. She told me I was smart and could read anything I wanted. Bless her strict loving heart!

I had a teacher like Mrs. Hardin. My teacher, Mrs. Maddox (also my senior year world kit teacher), prepared me so well for college, I never got below an A on a college essay and all the Daily Grammar Practice we did (that I loathed at the time because I thought I was bad at it but I was actually good at) really helped with college English class. We are now Facebook friends and I went back yo see her for the first two years after I graduated multiple times. Mrs. Maddox never started laughing hysterically randomly, but she always sat in this chair at the front when we were reading. She’s retired now, but I have so many good memories about her class.

Omg I also had a science teacher my junior year of high school. I loved him he was awesome. He would alway let me sit at his desk and write down the note because I could see from my desk. And he would have me turn the pages because I was there. But when I say we barely did anything in class. One day we came in thinking we were going to be taking notes because he had a slide show on the board. Bro he said I got this on the board just in case my boss walks in. We just did what we wanted all class. Also when I say I think we did like three maybe four experiments all school year. It was messed up too because I missed one day of class and didn’t get to do one of them. Also he was trying to run for govern he told all of us to tell our parents to vote for him. 😂😂😂

Today the Science teacher decided to take the whole class down to play in the creek behind the school. They were learning about nature. It sounds like a blast, and I would have sent him in old shoes today if I knew. But!?!? I didn’t know. The kids also didn’t know the plans for today. He came home today with his brand new Nikes weighing about 5LBS full of creek water! I’m prepared for shoes to get dirty, but not ruined. I don’t know if I should cry, or say something to the teacher.
