Even the name of the level is just the name of a song from the game. I adore VVVVVV and it's so cool to see it be referenced so lovingly, and it's also so cool that the mechanics of Celeste fit so well with the layouts of a decade old indie platformer made by the same guy who made Super Hexagon and Dicey Dungeons, with help from the man behind QWOP and Getting Over It. Also there's another level in the Intermediate Lobby called The Tower which is yet again another VVVVVV reference, this time to one specific area of that game. HOT TAKE: Over The City is in my opinion the best level of the beginner lobby in the Strawberry Jam. The double jump arrows are probably the best modded mechanic in Celeste, adding in a whole new layer to platforming, and Over The City by removing your dash forces you to engage with them in a simple environment. Removing your dash in the level actually reduces the complexity, allowing the player to get used to the arrows in a simplified gameplay loop. Introducing the arrows in a level like this that fits the beginner lobby makes a lor more sense in my opinion than waiting to introduce them until the harder lobbies where things are already far more complicated.

I'm waiting for the the intermediate lobby video soooo muchhhh
Great video, definitely underrated
Really surprised you dont have more subscribers. Your commentary and editing style rival that of a lot of really big youtubers. Keep up the good work. Hoping to play strawberry jam myself its just hard to justify the purchase of celeste on pc when ive played it on playstation lmao
Larry when he learns that the hardest map in Celeste takes away your dash (yes it’s as stupid as it sounds, the entire map is just frame perfect input spam)
that sounds like my personal hell lmao
it also has subpixel dependent maneuvers. mmm, my favourite (clueless because I’m too bad to have subpixels actually matter in my gameplay)
do not do dashless+ (unless you want to)
fun fact: dashless+ rooms are just 1a rooms but with spikes everywhere and new deco
The loopy lagoon milk is vex radiolaria
The dream crystals are really something
This mod has more than 100 levels becuase thats only the begginer lobby, if you sit in a bench or leave the level you can go to 4 new lobbies, but i have 350 hours and i still cant beat the last lobby levels
yea, I just said that to set up the joke for the end of the video, something about comedic timing or something idk Im not a comedian Im just an idiot on the internet with an opinion lol
7:00 they’re called swap blocks
10:54
you'll be very happy to hear that actually, there's quite a few kittys scattered throughout all of strawberry jam :3
there's some videos showing where all of them are, altho i probably won't ever reach the ones in later lobbies
hell yeah
This is really funny. You’ll probably scrape by intermediate and then… uh probably give up on advanced. No hard feelings btw. Advanced is…. Like…. Whew. Not without its merits. They are hard, but really fun if you are really high skill
Yea, the Tower 16 is borderline expert, I found all green experts easier than The Tower XVI and I found only Mosaic Garden (the hardest yellow expert) and the reds harder than The Tower XVI.
what about the gym in every lobby?
Underrated asf
“Look I’m petting the cat, I just killed myself.”
Gift from the stars was great wdym
now do grandmaster lobby >:)
should be pretty easy
do pinball purgatory first imo
@@solomray7936 no, do S.Ex (solar express) first. the 2-frame spam in pumber is too much, just learn theo gameplay imo to have a better experience with other throwable maps, like crystal enigma (SC2020)
you seem like. the coolest person ever i think
nah I'm the second coolest, you are #1:D
you better play the rest of the lobbies
The milk is carbonated
My Antivirus threw it in the bin. Hm man I need to try it again
24:20 There is no way i drop pixel perfect in every section 😮
AMBATAKUMMMMM OHHHHHHHHHH larry what it doooo
sup boy
Ambassing, omaygot ambatufukinnut
God I hate when there’s puzzles in my puzzle platformers
24:04 i just did tons of pixel perfects for that level also i looked up the puzzles that i couldn't do
12:26 *foreshadowing*
Cool video.
Did you know about the 2020 spring comunity colab? Its basicly another mod similar to this, but older and i think a bit smaller.
Also, since you really hate puzzles, you can use walkthroughs to find the solutions. That way its like you dont have to solve them. It will probably save you alot of time and frustration and it feels less like cheating than turning on infinite jumps.
yeah you are definitely right about the puzzles lol, I mostly did the infinite jumps as a joke more than anything but in the future Im totally googling it
@@larrytheslimei actually don't recommend spring collab, it has some very very dodgy levels and is just overall less fun than sj
@@sileudies but it also has claustrophobia, so...
If you liked Potentiel for Anything, you really should try VVVVVV, its a platform game that this level is inspired by
you will really like it !
You should do and rank the intermediate levels next
Cats are the cutest
damm beat me too it, i was in the process of scripting my video on the same topic
The title is wrong because I did play it
Me trying not to make a jamattack reference every 2.5 seconds (if you don’t know they are a geometry dash creator)
Yes, i have played :3
You should do a vid on the intermediate lobby
I think you're the first person I've seen dislike Over the City. Gotta love the energy.
I don't really like the level either but it's not outright hating it. It just feels too slow for me without the dash, and it was a pain to get the silver berry
@@LiperioHK yeah, dashless maps aren't the most beloved for that reason. I think the map almost had good atmosphere but it just fell short due to the minimal deco contrasting strangely with the highly detailed styleground.
erm, actually, larry, it’s the greatest game i _have_ played
Im installing it right now, just need itto install and connect a controler to my laptop, and im gonna play it
have fun! it really is amazing
nice! now do int its fun
The milk is boiling.
It's not milk it's cu-[REDACTED]
the one with the jump crystals was the easiest :/
Play VVVVVV, that's what that one gravity flipping level is based off of.
Edit: Ah someone already mentioned it, goobye.
33:03 its a remake of VVVVVV
Istg if i cant find a way to mod my game to play strawberry jam im gonna be so pissed
Potential for Anything reminds me of Geometry dash
fun video 😁
27:32 this level is the worst thing to ever happen
i think this mod is really great but IN MY Opinion there is 1 mod that is barely better than this one its called (hollow Knight Pale Court) try it for Your Self, but this mod is nothing short of a Masterpiece its My Second Favorite Mod of All Time
do you plan on doing the other 4 lobbies?
yes, at some point I would like to at least play up through the expert lobby(no promises on grandmaster lobby though)
34:05 is it just me, or are some of those layouts ripped almost directly from VVVVV?
yeah potential for anything is very directly vvvvvv inspired but bro just did not notice
Now play the next lobby 🔫
Does the edit at the end of the video have its own video?
How dare you put a Dunesparce during the Seinfeld theme
tee hee
Hi Halfwits
Erm I have played it
