Bajie purposely kept himself away from Violet spider because he understand how cruelty of celestial court punishment. After the crew gain merit as Buddha after journey to the west, bajie still witness wukong death, and all yaoguais involved in will either getting worst rest of the life or rather just death. From the conversation between bajie & Violet spider during bondage cutscene has a hint, they sweet talk at first but after once bajie knew Violet spider carry a child of him, he suddenly turn his words against them, try to keep his daugther away from this tragedy. After boss fight cutscene he try to walk away also is an act to protect his daugther. After called a fool by Violet spider, bajie hold his tears from falling & kept his head up also prove he still love the spider. It is sad because they are loving each other but cannot reunite due to they had been recarnation destined root as inferior yaoguais, no matter how good a yaoguai had done, their destiny always superior by someone, even strong as wukong also cannot change the fact.

I was wrong about him thinking that this is one sided love. Good that he still love Violet Spider and because of that he had to let go to keep her family safe this time.

It was one of the best romantic anime and music ever written in game, there was no dialog but superior writing and directing. Very emotional. Also Ba Jie was clearly trying to deny any relationship with his daughters because he knows the sky is listening and will get them all killed. It is so sad and touching.
