This video is a literal life saver. Can't thank you enough...I'm taking my exam in 2-3 months and I feel so much better after watching this!! Couldn't push myself to retain all the info they provided on neuron composition and muscle fiber types.
I'm preparing to take my test here soon. I have my degree in Applied Science, so I've got a leg up, but man, some of those questions are random as hell (like the formulas). But it's either continuing to work these shitty jobs or breaking free and perusing my dreams.
I am currently studying for my ACE exam and found your video VERY helpful!!! Thank you so much for the detailed advice, I have been stressing so much over knowing EVERYTHING in the Essentials of Science textbook, spending hours and hours making flashcards, writing up summaries, cutting out diagrams and charts, etc. etc. even after already having a pretty good foundational knowledge about human anatomy and kinesiology. I have felt like I have needed to essentially MEMORIZE this stuff because I have heard mixed reviews about the exam so far so thank you for listing what IS important and what ISN'T! VERY helpful :)
Thank you so much for this! I just started this certification and was 100% overwhelmed and though I bit off more than I could chew. This has given me a huge sign of relief that I'm going to be okay.
Thank you for your in depth explanation of your studies and your exam. as someone who has spent countless hours in the gym over the years this video is a great reminder of how much hard work and understanding goes into being certified, congrats again on your certification.
Just received my ACE study materials this week and I'm very glad that I watched this video as I believe it will be a great asset in helping me to plan how to study. Thanks!
Phew! Having a background in fitness I finally decided it was time to pursue a career! I had managed health food stores in the past and was certified through the gyms I worked at (their little clinic certifications). I too, didn't pass my practice exam (like 17 out of 30?) but it was mainly terms I wasn't familiar with and some illnesses or diseases I never had personal expertise in. I feel a lot of it was centered around liability issues and doctors clearances. I'm particularly worried as I have issues with cognitive focus and concentration. I hope my medications come though or it's nootropics for me!!
Thank you a ton for this, I’m just getting started and have been feeling extremely overwhelmed going over the essentials of exercise science book. Glad to know it’s minimal :)
Definitely feeling super unprepared for this exam since I've followed this course to a T like you said and have STILL FAILED all my online quizzes (not a great test taker) but thank you for your honest feedback/recommendations! I feel a lot better about what to focus on before the exam etc!
Thank you so much for this video! This program has been super overwhelming and this helped ease my mind a whole bunch! Congrats on your certification! :)
Thank you so much for this!! Im in the middle of ACE right now and kind of slacking because i am also a college student. but im ready to pick up a notch! ill forsure go back to this before i take my test! thanks again xoxo
So glad I found this video. I am taking the exam in May & that small book has been stressing me out. Will set it aside after the nutrition chapter and just focus on the main book!! thank you!! saving this video to watch again!
Kevin Williams yes! It was super helpful! I passed! The exam was easier than I expected based on how much material it is. Really understand building rapport with your clients & the stages of learning & know the reps/etc for whatever your client is trying to achieve (ie muscle hypertrophy vs muscular endurance etc) know how to progress your clients, know the basics of nutrition how to read a label etc, they also show videos and ask how you would modify the client based on their form etc Hope that helps! Good luck!
Hi Kelly great job on the video and stay motivated at what you do and I like your hair style it looks beautiful and your outfit do to and keep up the great work and stay positive and have a great day 👍 excellent job on the video
Thank you for this video! I think its frustrating over the amount of time I have spent over the exercise science book and not on the rest of the materials. Obviously they would not provide you a book that is not relevant, but at the end of the day if it is not on the exam, It would have been nice from the get go ACE would integrated the absolute essential knowledge required into their online course to minimize stress and confusion. Thanks again for the video!
UPDATE!!! I passed today with a score of 632. Thank you so much for this video! I also purchased the entire package and followed it to a T, then at the last minute, I came across this video. I honestly watched this about 10 times yesterday, took notes and reviewed everything you went over. I'm forever grateful 💗🙏
Thank you!!! I just started my education and I have been STRESSED with the science book I was like there’s no way I’m gonna be able to pass the test I don’t understand this, thank you soooo much😭
Your video was very helpful. I took the exam on Jan 8th, I almost did not finish the exam because of those video Questions I had like 4 video questions on the Bend and Lift movement screen, and 4 video questions on the Shoulder Mobility assessment. I was surprised that the math questions were all on the Nutrition stuff. I sadly did not pass, and I am retaking the exam on Wednesday.
I passed it on Wednesday! I got some of the same video questions for the assessments which helped a lot, and some of the other questions were the same! I felt like I had more video questions on this test but oh well I passed.
@@sidneydewart3246 Congrats. I'm studying for my ace as well. I have a question about chapter 9, 10, and 11. In those chapters, what should I be focusing on that will help me on the exam? Thanks
hi Kelly can you please guide me to the proper form excercise videos which you said you watched on UA-cam? I took the test once and did horribly on that section. thanks
I just watched your video and I'm hoping to test within the next 45 days. The video helped with info and building confidence. You mentioned ACE has an interactive page for identifying muscles. I can't find it and was hoping you can help? I did find many ACE links discussing muscles, but not one single page for reference. Thank you.
I thought we had six months to SCHEDULE it. We schedule it within 6 months of purchase. so i could schedule it within the 6 months for 6 months from that date. RIght? ANd yes it is overwhelming and I have a bio degree and I am oVERWEHLMED!

I am stuck with anatomy. I am thoroughly reading Essential Exercise science and it is so much. All the muscles and its original and insertions; hormones and etc. So hard. I will try to just go over it without learning muscles by heart. I will pay more attention on Manual Trainer book.
I have a question about chapter 9, 10, and 11 and I would like for you to break it down. What main points should I be focusing on in those chapters that will be on the exam?
Hi Kelly, I am currently starting to prepare for my ace certification exam and i was just wondering what online course you are talking about? Thanks so much!
Hi Shannon, when you purchase a study package through ACE, you have access to the ACE Academy Elite which gives you the step by step outline Kelly is referring to.
I'm thinking about getting certified before I go to school so that I can work for my university as a personal trainer. Would someone with a lot of recent experience with standardized testing have an advantage? I would like to get certified ASAP along with spending the least amount of money. Thanks.
I have a question, on the internet it says that in order to take the ace certification exam you require cpr and aed certifications, if i only have the cpr certification can i still take it? Thx
No one ever checked to make sure I had my CPR and AED which I though they would! So you might be fine without the AED but I would eventually get it so you know how to use it
@@kellyyager1 oh ok, but do i need cpr and aed (the 2 certificates or is ok if i only have 1) or is cpr/aed a single certificate. Thx for answering btw

Hello Kelly, I'm looking to get my ACE personal trainer certificate and i have a question, can you purchase the books at Amazon and study instead of buying the package at the ACE website??
I am basically looking to acquire knowledge (and get certified) so that I can design (fitness & weight loss) home workouts for virtual training and UA-cam channel. I do not have any related education but have 15 yrs of experience of workouts. Could you suggest me any course that comes at a reasonable price? I’d like to do it more for passion than profession.
To be completely honest I didn't look into their program that much so I'm not 100% sure of the differences! I mainly was between NASM and ACE because those are the most widely accepted around my area!:) If you google the different programs I think there is a chart that breaks them down!
So the essentials of exercise science or whatever isnt all that crucial? I took the first quiz over that material and got a 71% what did you get? That shit is stressful

Kelly's advice is spot on. I watched before taking the course and passed it this week.
READ THE BOOK! You'll do fine.

How long does it take to get the certification?
How much of actually knowing the anatomy of the body is on it?
