@@oscarvega7534 This is a common urban legend. Height restrictions were imposed in 1910 because neighbors of the Cairo Apartments, in NW, had a fit it was so huge. Height is determined by the width of the street to a max of 130 feet, less if zoning has other restrictions.

+ J Utah: Thanks for your precious footages and the link above. I agree with the documentary. The low density in American metropolis is caused by the skyscrapers who are nearly only commercial builings.
However it's to say that also in Europe we copied the "American Way of Life" : commuterism is widespread in nearly all big cities, as London, Paris, and so on. That's because of the huge costs for living downtown and the air pollution. Anyway also in Europe there is now a trend to return in the center of towns exactly for the same reasons as in the USA.
I think Washington DC is most beautiful and cleaned city than new york, pretty and wide road, Peaceful environment😍

Washington DC is a Beautiful city. When you look at it as a metropolitan area it is even more fascinating! Very big sprawling area that is built up all over including Baltimore. You could tour this area all day with great scenery. 3rd largest metropolitan area in America and number 12 in the world.

@@carljohnson9057 I could be wrong about this?, so don't quote me. but the reason its not considered a "state" is because each state has its own governor, and each governor picks a political party to rally behind. So in order to keep the capital political unbiased its not a state.

dc has the worst and traffic in the US
You really have to experience the city in its entirety. Each neighborhood changes drastically even the grid. Some parts of the city has the more northeast city style streets and the blocks are more narrow and lined with commercial space on both sides or they're lined with row houses. But those streets usually don't go for miles and miles like a new York but they do exists in DC. Lastly the traffic gets really bad some of the worst you'll find in the nation.

i drive uber in DC and jaywalking is a HUGE problem here. When i see people jaywalking i don't stop or slow down. not because i want to hit them but to stand my ground and to prevent them from doing it in the future. pedestrians in DC are real fucking morons.
