A classic style sci-fi story. Not just lasers and good vs bad but a study of humanity against a futuristic backdrop. Refreshing compared to a lot of contemporary stories.
It's the first one that's popped up for me that isn't "HFY." So I clicked it immediately, beginning right now. I can't stand HFY stories. Can't stand them. They're trash, most of the time, which makes this one promising.
@@tylerquiet8687I unfortunately don’t know what kind of stories you are referring to with HFY? What does it mean? Thank you in advance for you’re response 😊
Outstanding! What a great plot you crafted for our enjoyment, entirely out of the blue. You seem unstoppable, and every moment is another display of masterful storytelling. And what a dark, cold, deserving ending you managed to conjure - magnificent. Thank you again!
It would be nice to see a sequel to this story, maybe a malfunction happens and ethan 52 gets another chance to expose them. Maybe the next clone 53 goes crazy.
I would be immediately suspicious if I knew there was advanced cloning technology that was onboard a generational ship. ...Why would you have a population to be kept alive during the ship's transit when you could just create the population at the destination?
While it is necessary to maintain a crew for unexpected occurences the majority of people could be in hypernation (which would certainly be an existing alternative if cloning is at such an advanced level). But with it comes the usual melee of human problems. Some will be focused on the mission as it is laid out originally. And some will see this as a posibility to gain power over others and shape the future into a cult where they are at the very top and the rest there to worship them and tend to their every whim. We see it even now with Putin. We saw it with Hitler and Stalin and Musso and Tojo. We saw it with Zetswayo of the Zulu nation, albeit on a more local level as he at least recognized that he could not oversee and manage a world wide rulership. We saw it with the Hutu's. We see it with the CCP of China. We even see it with the very top of the EU elite. And we risk seeing it with Trump if he regains a term in the oval office as he is not even trying to deny that he will disband the constitution, assume permanent leadership and remove everybody, even those of his own race, that will utter a single word in defiance against him. There is a name for all of them. Demagog's. They view every other people on earth, even family and friends and staunch supporters as merely servants to sweeten their lives and ensure their unwavering power. Demagog's are far more dangerous and destructive than any psychopath or sociopath can ever be. And they will not hesitate for a nanosecond in culling the people that serve no purpose in their eyes. And where better to aim for ultimate power and control than in a spaceship bringing the remnants of humanity to a new world to ensure survival of the human species? There are no armies or nations to curtail their machinations and schemes of evil. They are practically given a free hand to pursue these plans with the only limiting factor being how many useful nobrains they can persuade into doing their dirty work for them.
@billysmith1873 I don’t want to spoil too much for those who haven’t listened to the story yet, but you have to remember that the ship does not operate on democracy. The crew was likely dispersed immediately and could have been fed a multitude of lies or cover stories. There is one other possibility regarding their fate, but revealing it would spoil the story. If you’ve listened to the story, you should be able to figure it out.
I dont see why it had to be written so he immediately explored what he discovered at that exact moment, trailing off while he had everyone's undivided attention. I guess i can imagine what happened to those present to witness his actions, and im sure 52 realized this as well
@@GalacticHorrors After watching it again I think I get what hung me up. I think I was treating the moment like real time. Seems like the Capt actually stood there for a good bit before he opened the door
@GalacticHorrors It's pretty good just left alone but, If you want to make part 2, Let's say, he didn't quite die and his memory spilled over into the next clone, it would be an interesting movie. But then you could have a happy ending, But it wouldn't quite fit this genre.
A question he should gave asked in the meeting that resulted in his termination: I understand the need to study mass population behavior under duress. But how do your sumptuous lives contribute to the experiment?
Wouldn't the science lab have the DNA saved of all of the past crew members? They should be able to make cloned copies of all of the people that were killed.
Sadly i can easily see people who believe themselves to be the elite of humanity doing something like this. There will always be those who believe they are superior to their fellow man and deserve undue perks and privilege.
Cap is kinda infuriatingly naive, when old Terra goes by by and the only ship with survivors is about to fail any measures that mean the survival of the species are justified. The end dosent always justify the means but this time the means skirt the edge of the road to hell.
Excellent story, particularly because the themes seem to mirror our current reality. A privileged 'elite' few, manipulating and deceiving the innocent masses under the gise of 'the greater good', when in actuality they enjoy the power over people's lives, they gain pleasure from living in the most opulant and obcene luxury while most have to struggle to survive. Callous and evil monsters, deviod of humanity. I weep for us all.
To the extent that the hologram technology can be used. Are they actually in space or just in one big holo experiment on earth. This was all in preparation for humanities future generational ships and colonization plans.
No one realized this story is a metaphor about our current society... Captain Quinn's clones represents every president that has given us a false sense of reality.
Yeah really... I think we're the only two that pick up on the fact that this narrator has absolutely no idea how humans speak. Just random yelling at the wrong time, low weird tones when it should be yelling, and not even voicing accurately to his own dialogue descriptions 😂
I feel like the research into farming and the increase of efficiency protocols isn't something they should have had to bring the captain back to say. I would have like to see The captain's speech Go south. Incite a struggle between the security forces and the justifiably angry mob. Why should they trust him?

Vault-Tec...in spaaaaace!
Enlcave here... why isn't your captain cloning?
Great story and presentation, I wish there was more like this on the internet - well done.
5 mins in and the quality and story have hooked me. Well done!
Good stuff
This one sent chills down my spine. Most scary I've heard yet.
truthfully a blend of creepypasta and scifi
Awesome story! Very plausible and very chilling!
This one will stay in my head for a while. I may use it as an inspiration for a musical piece. Thank you for this brief escape from the daily stuff!
@viralmoods6228 My pleasure!
Candle in the Void!

Enjoyed thanks for sharing.
Great work, team 👏👏👏👏👏. Absolutely loved this story. I was gutted when it ended.
There's a game called Crying Suns. It's a pretty decent game. This story is almost a supplemental take on that game, giving detailed backstory to it
That was a solid reading, thanks!

Maybe there's issues with the cloning technology's output... Ie see the movie "Moon?"
Simple , need crew to keep ship running.. maybe its keeping extra gene material beyond current crew too
To maintain the ships operation's threw it's journey
Redundancy and maintenance

This was excellent, thanks for your work and kudos to the author.
If I'm ever duplicated, we've already agreed that every instance gets the same respect as the original. The decision was unanimous.
😂
It all begins with respecting yourself first. You all are off to a good start imo.
Terrific story!
Strong fallout vibes. Very fun story :)
Wow. Super story.
@antarcticmoongiant2691 Thank you!
Damn. Sounds like real life. Shame he couldn’t save them
Man this was scary and sad how it ended. But still very good story 👌
well done.Seems to be a well outlier.A superb tale.
Interesting parallel of our planet
Wouldn’t the rest of the crew react if they had a new version of their captain every third year?
this was an awesome story
Thanks much better than most. I enjoyed it.
@rb2712 Thank you for listening!

Wait a minute. Didn't the experiment crew see the Capt open that hidden door? What did I miss there?

Cool stuff on the verge of the Alien Romulus movie
Fantastic Story!
That was very good. 👍
Sobering, thrilling
There needs to be more
This reminds me of the movie Pandorum
I agree not so much it feels stolen but just enough to give it a similar vibe
Great story.
Another Banger
Damn that was depressing! Think I'll just go drink some draino for the fun of it. 😂

Excellent is their a sequel i would love to hear more
@TechOnyxOne Unfortunately, it's a standalone with no sequel. Sorry about that!

This one is really good.
That's a real horror story.
I love the trials and tribulations of humanity against all odds and realizing what your capable of or not
Outstanding
earth has been traveling through space for 5 billion years
Nice
Not gonna lie this story 🔥💯🔥
Kind of sounds like what's happening on our planet right now.
Remember, he was sealed in a stasis booth. Perhaps ol' 52 can still save humanity 😉
A question he should gave asked in the meeting that resulted in his termination: I understand the need to study mass population behavior under duress. But how do your sumptuous lives contribute to the experiment?
Vault-Tec in space
It would make a great movie
Wouldn't the science lab have the DNA saved of all of the past crew members? They should be able to make cloned copies of all of the people that were killed.
Resources are still resources. They don't have enough.
That would just make for a boring story.

It's almost over.
This is just space version of our real lives
Excellent “Snowpiercer “ (the original movie), vibe, or our lives now?
That was very morbid
Reminds me of the movie Moon
This sounds like the movie pandorum
Everything is fine.
Wait a minute where is the original me? Oh good I’m still sleeping I guess I better save my life. That’s right just clone me and use me.😅 2:46
Hope nobody clones me. One of me is enough ! 😆🤣
Like always, centralized power is bad. Too easily abused. The only datapoint valuable here is how the whole mission is a fail.
😬🍿
Will there be a part 2?
To the extent that the hologram technology can be used. Are they actually in space or just in one big holo experiment on earth. This was all in preparation for humanities future generational ships and colonization plans.

Klingons are around Uranus !! 😆
Try to improve by animating the characters like Dr No sleep.
Vault-tec space colonial program
Exurb1a?
I did not like this story of inhumanity 😭💀 Probably because of its human nature 😔DAMMIT 🙏
Great story, awful narration, the shouting is so off putting
