Best batsman of Pakistan in 96 wc was Saeed Anwar he and amir gave great start but Ijaz,inzi run out then never been winning,In the end Rashid fight give bit chance but too late,That was the last match of great javed miandad.

I saw this match ..at one stage I thought of selling my ticket..as I was getting huge money...but finally I decided to watch this match...then i left to Saudi on 26th March...memorable match which we can't experiance in life time

Amir was taking on the bowlers because nobody else would, and the asking rate would sky rocket otherwise. One has to be a high level moron to blame one man for the failure of a whole team.

Chasing 287 in 49 overs in WC Quater final knock out match is near impossible in 1990s era.
Amir Sohail's blind hitting gave Pakistan the opportunity.
But, Inzamam & Ijaz failed to capitalise the foundation made in 15 overs.
If Amir & Sohail & Anwar played 4-5 runs/ over, the match would have been one-sided after 20 overs.

Jadeja was not given lbw out by David Shepherd on very first ball from Waqar. Anyone can check that Jadeja was completely failed in that world cup thanks to Mr. Shepherd who made him lion from goat.

no it was sensible, prasad was maintaining his line, ijaz was slowing the run rate, amir was forced to take a lot of risk, the run rate was climbing, so he did sledge to bring prasand under pressure, but it didnt work, amir kept on with the risk, still it was not amir's fault, the start was given, ijaz, inzi and malik had to carry on the momentum, but they let the ball drop..

Waqar younas last two overs
Middle order batsmen inzamam and ejaz Ahmed poor batting
Rashid Bahi Pak Lost Against SA before this match if we won against SA we had match against WI I think
WI would have hammered Pakistan. Till mid 90s WI had a tremendous record against Pak even though Pak gave them tough. After the 1997 series Pak started dominating WI not just PAK but every other team

exactly. javed miandad was so overrated he was responsible for slow innings in 1996 against india and 1992 match against india , very slow innings. Also javed miandad was making sure that Pakistan do not win the 1992 WC semifinal . Thx to inzamam and a timely six by moin khan , otherwise the game was gone.
