It's actually really challenging to do so. The domain is plagued by rainfall until the curse is lifted, and the backside is entirely dominated by sheer cliff walls. You certainly couldn't stumble upon it on your first playthrough; the game design is specifically tailored that the entire domain is your next port of call from Kakariko and is structurally shaped to be a small trial to the Zora city itself, rather than just walk around.
Still really cool they put that detail in though.

The remains of dragons and other creatures are exciting to me because if or when we travel back in time in BOTW 2 we get to see these creatures living and breathing. I’m fairly certain we will, because a lot of things in the trailer make sense, like how there are no shrines present in the wide shot of the landscape of hyrule, and the creature zelda and link are riding on underground in the trailer has a dinosaur like tail, which doesn’t match any of the creatures in BOTW, also if Nintendo is returning to the same hyrule, traveling back in time would give us a cool different style of this hyrule with different landmarks, enemies, climates, and more!

    • @nichii1603
      @nichii1603 4 роки тому +2

The lack of shrines means going back thousands of years, correct? Because I believe that the shrines only existed then and on. Thought about this at 5:48. In memory Daruk's Mettle (The one gotten during the quest to free Divine Beast Vah Rudania) there is a mini earthquake around death mountain. Daruk stops a bolder flying towards him and Link and says, "All right, so what was I saying...That was a little strange...As far as I know, Death Mountain has been quiet fro decades. But if the mountain is shivering enough to send down a bunch of bolders that size, then-- Never mind, forget I said anything." After this memory, it is not brought up again throughout the rest of the game. The only other time we see bolders hurled from Death Mountain is when the Divine Beast was hurling them during Link's climb to reclaim the Divine Beast and free Daruk. As they were on the Divine Beast in the memory (Ruling out the fact that it could have been it causing the tremor) and Daruk seems to have prior knowledge of what it might mean, I was curious if this could have been signs of Dodongo or Darunia as seen in past games? Maybe a set up for the boss of Death Mountain in Botw 2? Idk, seems weird that it's brought up and the game doesn't seem to go into any further detail on the subject

Knowing the Temple of Time and part of the Great Plateau used to be OOT's town, the 3 temples referencing the spiritual stones certainly takes some interesting implications. Link had to go on a journey to gather all 3 stones to gain access to the temple's inner chamber.
    ---
In a similar manner, maybe gaining access to the temple of time, required that the person go on a pilgrimage to 3 sacred locations related to the stone's element, and bring back an item from the locations: Death Mountain, Zora's Domain (maybe Lake Hylia too?) and probably the Rito Village, or Gerudo Town. Kokiri Forest doesn't exist, and no ordinary person can enter the Lost Woods, so for the nature/wind element, both Rito Village and Gerudo Town would make sense.
    ---
I imagine the pilgrimage would have been far less tedious since there were no monsters or calamity around, so traveling was more of an excursion of understanding resources and the environment to survive, rather than a survival challenge of not die against unexpected monster ambushes; and it would focus on understanding the species and their cultures, so when entering the temple of time, the person would be enlightened as to how Hylia has blessed Hyrule with so much wisdom and knowledge.
    ---
Once the items were brought to the 3 temples, they'd gain access to the temple of time, likely even becoming one of the caretakers if the Royal Family authorized it.
    ---
Though with the Plateau destroyed, such traditions are dead, and likely won't return.

The three godesses were first mentioned in "A Link to the Past", although not by name. They are the ones that created the triforce, each forging one of its three aspects. I don't quite understand why the people of Hyrule would've turned away from the three old godesses to worship Hylia. Maybe it is because the creation of the triforce caused the contionous battle between Link and Ganon, destroying the land over and over. Also, Nayru was the godess of water, din was the godess of fire and Faroe was the godess of thunder. Maybe Hylia is the godess of light that promises to relieve the people of Ganon once and for all.

One of the coolest little tidbits I know is in one of the smaller Plaeau temple ruins. Thinking about OG Temple of Time (in the order the games were made, unless I missed something), I was confused about there being no Master Sword inside the ToT in BotW. I DID, however, find a miniature OoT ToT version in a temple ruin down the hill. From what I can recall, it's pretty spot on, complete with the little stairs and the Master Sword pedestal. I always wanted to explore a pre-destruction world map in-game. A second version of that idea would be exploring a 'Repaired' in-game world, such as for example, The Great Plateau repaired and thriving as a sort of new Castle Town and farmland, or the actual in-game ruins of Castle Town repaired and thriving.
I guess it's just a form of reward just to see the world you saved show visual progression at rebuilding in a now safer land.
Another imaginative wish is exploring the lands past the chasms that act as the world border, because unlike the stretch of ocean or desert you can visually see that up above the intense wall of earth on the other side of the chasms, there is a large expanse of grassy flatlands, which makes you wonder, has the land of hyrule itself always been this low to the ocean, and has it always been this disconnect from the inland? Because it honestly looks as if at some point in the past the land of Hyrule suffered from a massive landbreak from the rest of the land, because it is too much of a hight and length difference to suggest that these two lands are naturally like that.
It makes you wonder, how did this happen, and if the breakoff theory is to be believed, how or what caused the breakoff from the inland? Was it natural? Was in international? Perhaps it was from a prior 'wish' from the Triforce, akin to the WindWaker timeline, or here's a fun one!
It was the Dodongos that weakened the 'border' and eventually caused the collapse! With the sheer size that they can grow, if they had grown a large population and created a line of caverns, it could have eventually collapsed and cause the land of Hyrule to slip off, or vise versa,... Actually lets explore more into this.
Imagine that over time Dodongos lived alongside a fault-line, and with how large Dodongos can grow and live for, their caverns alongside a fault-line would grow deeper and longer with it, and eventually weaken the fault-line causing the plates to slip, one going up, one going down, so as Hyrule sunk, the other side of land rose, leading to the massive hight difference we see currently ingame. Could also explain the extinction of Hyrulian Dodongos, if they weren't killed off by the event, the surviving Dodongos would have either have too little remaining members to repopulate, or were hunted by the races of Hyrule at that time to prevent a future repeat.

I truly truly love the architecture and these videos expounding on their design and meaning. One question does ANYONE know just wtf those Hyrulian buildings everywhere are supposed to be that have the square footprint, stairs running up to them, two walls with windows, and nothing else? are they just that alone or more that's missing (besides a roof), they are SO STRANGE to me, since they have such ornamental concrete work, adorned staircases, but only a tiny little platform for such a HUGE foundation. i wonder if it's just to avoid flooding - or maybe those are just teh first floors of multi-story houses?

And were holding their own until ganon sent the gaurdians i believe that the soldiers were overwhelmed and fell back to hylias temple both hopeing the goddess would intervene and save them and hyrule but also to make their last stand which explains the destroyed guardians around the temple those were the few that the soldiers managed to kill before being completely overrun

The three smaller temples I find interesting. There has definitely been a shift through the Zelda series when it comes to theology. Starting in A Link to the Past we had the three goddesses. They seemed to have been worshipped as a group since it was their combined effort that created Hyrule and the Triforce. But since Skyward Sword there has been a shift to worshipping Hylia instead. From what I have seen it seems the goddesses left Hylia as their proxy since she is always depicted with wings, like an angel serving her gods.
And here's an interesting theory to delve into. Did Hylia become a goddess again when Zelda eventually died after Skyward Sword. There is lots of worship to Hylia now but why would the people offer their prayers to a fallen goddess? And did she leave leave some of her power in the bloodline once she ascended again?

What, you don’t deal with Lynels in your backyard?! Just kidding. 😆 Really cool point about the possible Dodongo footprints! I also didn’t notice Karin’s book; thanks for sharing that!

It’d be cool if each region with a divine beast had its own unique over world boss. Kinda like how Moldugas can only be found in the desert.
