So today, as the title would suggest, I'm talking about one of my favourite topics in fashion, Parisian style:) Sharing 9 easy style tips of how you can add a little French style into your outfit ideas this Spring Summer 2024. And I had the please of picking a new piece for Spring from one of my favourite effortless brands, Jenni Kayne, so I really hope you like what I chose this month:) I really hope you enjoy today's styling video and it gives you lots of outfit ideas and inspiration and I'm looking forward to hearing from you all and your favourite outfits? Big hugs you lovely lot, Jess:) P.S As requested, for those who don't use other social media I'm going to post my 75 hard style challenge on UA-cam too. But, I will turn off most of the notifications as I don't want to drive you potty seeing me everyday🤣 Instead, it'll be there daily on my UA-cam shorts page if you want to pop by for a bit of daily outfit inspo and follow along too:) x
Jess these Parisien style vids are my absolute favourites - can we have more of them? Maybe a summer style/winter style parisien look video, or focus on different neutrals. Fab as always! X
Aww that makes me so happy to hear you really enjoy these thank you so much for letting me know Janine:) I will happily do them more often if that's something everyone would like to see, I adore the style! Hope you've had a wonderful weekend and thank you again for that lovely comment, you've made my day:)
Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a wonderful week and are ready for a whole lot of outfit ideas, style tips and inspiration, with a little French twist!
I complimented a woman today on how lovely she looked in the dress she was wearing. She was really rocking it and her attention to makeup and hair completed her fabulous style.
Morning lovely Jess, ahh these are my most favourite videos. I simply love the Parisian style and find myself enjoying putting outfits together inspired by this. Less is definitely more. I personally really don’t like the over done label look, I think it looks really tacky. So thank you for sharing this with us all. I hope you’re having a lovely weekend? Have a great week ahead and take care xx
I always compliment women who I think look great, it’s fun for both of us! The last time was a woman in front of me in the pharmacy line, she so looked so well-put together that I had to tell her! She said it made her day, so what’s not to love? Then, some (male in a boring black gym outfit) comedian in line wanted a “style review”, too, so we all pleasantly passed that otherwise annoying 25 minutes just standing in line together. Sincere compliments make life nicer for everyone! Spread a little love around to your fellow creatures, God knows we can never get too much of it.
Jessica you have such a different and amazing approach in fashion, I will be telling you in every video!! Thank you for sharing your ideas ❤ greetings from sunny Greece
As a small, slim woman with lots of curve, I have never cared for French style. It looks beautiful on women like you - but a sac of potatoes on women like me. 😂 Love your videos regardless! Definitely love the walk tall tip - I get a lot of compliments from other women that I think are half due to the tall walk (I’m 5’1”😂) and the other half a smile. Of course, the signature red lipstick helps. I LOVE Italian style … hint, hint…
I am petite and curvy but my style is partly French inspired.I like the fact it is a basic classic.I have tonal outfits and I have a number of striped tops.I also like their natural makeup lip and bold red lip.
What a fabulous informative video Jess. I love all of your outfit combinations and you always style everything so effortlessly chic. ❤ Have a fab week, and looking forward to more daily outfits from your 75 day challenge! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 xx
Aww you’re a sweetie Sian, always lovely to hear from you 😘 Lots of lovely outfit ideas in this one so I’m glad you liked them too, always a favourite style to recreate🙌🏻 Enjoy that sunshine gorgeous 😘
The silouette of the white dress is lovely, but the quality is to thin. The khaki doues not show through with where there is double layers. But on the white it shows so much. Not so bad on the sleeve, but in front, on the collar area, it is very obvious, and should not. Unfortunately that makes it look like cheaper quality. I would expect that from Wallmart or H&M, not quality clothes. Unfortunately I would pass on it because of it, unless it would be for a beachdress. "French women" would as well 😊 - love the different style tips ❤
I politely disagree, just because a fabric is thin doesn’t make it any less high quality, take silk chiffon for example. I can hand on heart say everything I’ve ever received from Jenni Kayne is absolutely stunning quality, one of the best actually, hence why I love working with them. In fairness to your comment studio lights can make items look more see through than they actually are in real life but while you can see the pocket lining on this dress you certainly can’t see anything:)
There’s actually quite a lot of pieces still available. However the video went live at 6am on Sunday (28th) morning, I can’t help it if pieces sell out really quickly. Most were in stock when I made the video. Hopefully lots will restock soon:)
I heard from a french lady once that you either have ear rings or necklace. Never both. Have you heard that before??? I have always wondered how true that is.
I have heard that before too Eva:) I think it harps back to the theory of keeping it understated, just a hint of jewellery rather than a spash but I would say if your jewellery is particularly minimal I think you could get away with both if that's what you like:)
@@FashionStyleEdit I think so too! If I really want to be understated I use that rule but I sometimes do the opposit and have lots of jewlery on as a part of the vibe of the cloths.
Really good video as usual, Jess. I'm in the south of France at the moment and can really echo what you say about the French not slavishly following trends. I've been trying to get on board with wide leg jeans but I really don't think they suit me but I keep seeing them in the UK. Here, apart from a few young student types most women I've seen are still wearing slim, straight or even skinny jeans and trousers. Have a good Sunday.x
Haha, well I'm very glad you're here:)! I woke at 4am this morning for some silly reason:/ So it's lovely to finally have some lovely people to chat too! Big hugs Janet and I really hope you enjoy today's video:)
@@FashionStyleEditloved it Jess…as always, I’d love to try jenni kayne lillysilk goelia etc…it’s the sizing I worry about and the paying for returns, I’d need to order 2of of everything…am I being stupid? Ha ha …have a great day xx
Not stupid at all hun, it’s something all of us think about:) I’m working with Goelia a lot and have fed back the feedback about returns actually, they’re looking into it now to see if they can offer it so fingers crossed that happens soon🤞🏻 With Jenni Kayne I sized down once in the white dress from today, but the green version which is from last Summer is my usual small. I’d say their true to size but from a styling point of view I wanted the new white version to nip me in a little more so I sized down:) Feel free to ask me any more questions hun as I’m always happy to help wherever I can:) x
You are, without doubt theee most helpful stylist on here, answering our questions, I can name plenty that completely ignore us, but I won’t. that’s really helpful about how you choose your size, honestly, nearly everything I buy from different stores the sizes are differ , wouldn’t it be fantastic if everything was true to size? I’d never need to return anything at all then …and can I just say I loved your video last week about Lily silk, I succumbed to the cardigan, silk blouse, and trousers …and have just ordered more….cheers Jess, I’ve been watching some of your old videos today about summer holidays and dresses..,omg …so fabulous! Now I must crack on with Sunday dinner…have a lovely week 🥰xx
Morning Jess, looking lovely as ever. Stripes are my faves, lovely with a red lip. Not going to footie today, too wet, not good for my Granny hair 😄😄😄 Have a great day xx 😘
Love several of the looks! I'd add a caveat to the invest in quality though. If you are someone who changes sizes, only invest in quality for items which will fit you over several sizes. It is ok to go for a nice looking lower quality piece if it will only fit for a certain size. Case for this: I bought a gorgeous pair of linen pants at the end of a summer season. They fit perfectly and I wore them 3 times during the season. Next 4 years, they sat in my closet because the size no longer fit and I kept hoping for them to fit each summer. Meanwhile, I have an oversized silk button down shirt that has been in my clothing rotation since 1985. I could style it different ways at different sizes, from size 2 to size 14. Which one served me better?
Hi Jess, great tips. I'm so pleased I found a white linen blend dress recently, it's so easy to just sling it on and not have to worry about what to put with what. That one from Jenni Kayne is lovely - just wish they weren't so expensive. Maybe you could do a dupes video where you find similar high street items for us poor financially challenged souls 🤭. Hope you have a great day. I'm off to IKEA- wish me luck! x
Hi Karin, it's just such a beautiful style to recreate isn't it, I just love creating these videos so I'm so pleased you enjoyed watching it:) And most importantly, it's given you lots of outfit inspiration! Have a wonderful week ahead lovely and thanks again for watching:)
Hi Alison, it’s such a gorgeous brand isn’t it:) Sadly, though I’ve tried, the 15% is the max they can give at the moment. However on the plus side I can say all the pieces I’ve ever received from them are ‘forever’ items that I’ll be keeping in my wardrobe so they’ll definitely get that cost per wear right down😘
That's kind thank you Sylvia:) I did an ad recently for a makeup brand called Code8 and they sent me a new blusher in a palette called Rosé. It's a little more pink and has this slight sheen, really lovely to get that glowy look:)
You did a great job with this video and made some excellent style suggestions. Very practical. Thank you. I do have one suggestion for you stemming from my professional work over several decades. Women want to be authentic, and "fake it till you make it" does not fit with that. Your concept is great, but how you refer to it is a potential stumbling block. Can you reframe "fake it" so it is more positive? For example, could you say "visualize" rather than "fake"? Visualization is a powerful technique used in business, athletics, therapeutic settings, and elsewhere, and it sounds so much better than something that is false, or an act. You can then break down what that visualization would look like, and, most importantly, what it would feel like in the body. For example, pull your shoulders back and down, lift your chin up, relax your jaw and hands, smile gently, walk with smooth and purposeful steps, make eye contact, etc.. Once we visualize ourselves in that specific way, you can encourage us to become who we just visualized. THAT sounds so much more authentic, because it is. I hope you try this. Thank you again for your excellent work out here. I love to see women do amazing things.
Oh Jess, an Excellent vid--good tips, styles, examples. However, I will not buy anything made in China which very disappointingly rules out the fabulous jenni kayne linen dress. SO disappointing!
You have this gorgeously effortless style, it’s very inspiring ❤ I’d love to see your style tips on different body types if this is something you were considering for your channel. P.S. To me face it until you ace it is a better alternative to faking anything (even when meant in a positive way).
Another fab video Jess, my favourite styling is that understated French look. The red & camel colour combo on you is stunning. Totally get what you mean when you say, fake it til you make it, in the sense you mean.
Thanks so much Jen, and I'm so with you on the French look! The fake it til you make it really works doesn't it, just in that digging deep kind of moment when you feel a bit out of place, always a handy one to reach for:)) Hope you're having a fab week lovely, big hugs:)
I really appreciate you clarifying the 2 color rule. So often I hear it's 3 colors time be interesting, and I always feel like I must be doing something wrong when I intuitively want to stick to 2. Instead of telling myself I'm being boring, I will now tell myself I'm being Parisian! Merci! 🥰
Haha not boring at all my lovely, you choose however many colours feels right:)) I often stick to 2, why make life more complicated if you don't need to! Hope you're having a lovely weekend so far:)
Hello Jess. I am so excited that Jenni Kayne is opening a shop near where I live here in Scottsdale, AZ. I will now get a chance to see their lovely pieces in person and determine if any of them will fit my petite figure. You were the first UA-cam influencer to introduce me to the Parisian way of dressing. You also introduced me to Sezane. I hope to see you do a video showcasing their newest collection. I admire that your presentation included clothing you already have in your wardrobe. You are a breath of fresh air!
Love the clothing, especially the short sleeve white blouse! Wearing a great outfit is such a confidence boost! I always dressed well but in watching these videos for the last several years, I have learned about the missing gaps in my outfits and now I feel so much more put together. Thanks!
Hello my friend Jess 👋🏽, the blue lady cardigan jacket is incredibly beautiful 😍. A crisp white dress is always gorgeous & chic. You look so feminine & stylish. Love both the white and khaki dresses. I just purchased a khaki belted jumpsuit. This color is so versatile 😀. I think camel & red are lovely together. I think 🤔 I will give it a try. I never wear more than two colors at a time. I did not realize it until watching your video 😂👏🏽👏🏽. Because of you, I love stripes. I purchased a black & apricot striped short sleeve lightweight sweater. Yes, the rule of thumb is bold eye makeup, light or nude lips. Bold lips, light or nude eye makeup. Also, with red lipstick 💄, you want to choose a color that compliments your skin tone &/or the shade of red you are wearing 😀. You look super confident in your white puff sleeve blouse 😊. I agree, a compliment from a fellow woman is magical 🤩. Wonderful video 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Thank you 😊. Cheers 😉🌷
Morning Angela, so lovely to hear all your favourite outfits from today's video and I'm so happy to hear you found it helpful, always the aim of my videos:) Annoyingly I'm talking about minimal makeup in this video too and looking back I think I actually have too much on myself! haha so hard with filming to get it right:/ Not enough and you look washed out, too much and I feel caked! So any tips for the makeup when filming with lights would be very gratefully received:) Love the sound of your khaki jumpsuit! I love jumpsuits on other people, they just look so cute I think but in all honesty they look awful on me:/ I'm just too long in the body so I haven't found one that suits me properly recently. Big hugs Angela and as always a HUGE thank you for all your support and kind words, always lovely hearing from you:)
@@FashionStyleEdit Hello 🤗 my friend across the pond, again I have learned so much from you about style, how to put outfits together, feeling comfortable in my own skin & how fun dressing up is as an adult. I thought your makeup looked lovely. But, a trick is to take a quick selfie before filming. You will be able to see if your makeup needs a touch up, a bit more or a bit less by blending out your makeup with a fluffy brush. I recommend BK Beauty brushes. If you feel washed out, add more blush. If you feel your foundation is too cakey, press some facial oil on your complexion & use a tissue to blot any excess. I hope these tips are helpful. I feel good giving back to you after all you do for me & your audience. I enjoy supporting you and your channel. Have a good week & big hugs 🤗🤗. Cheers 😉🌷
Ooh these are fab tips thank you so much 🙌🏻 Love the one about the oil too, what a brilliant idea, I bet that makes your makeup look so much more natural despite how much you’ve actually put on in the first place:)) Big hugs to you hun, and thank you again for all the very helpful advice 😘
Good morning Borg:) Isn't that linen dress just stunning, I adore the shape, that one will have to come away with me next week! And yes totally with you on the stripes, never met one I didn't like;) Have a wonderful rest of the weekend lovely:)

Excellent tips as always! Each look is effortlessly chic and not too trendy, the way we all want to look. ❤
Aww so glad to hear you enjoyed it Kristin, hope you’re having a great week lovely 😘
I think I am repeating myself from an earlier video, but yes! to the red and camel 😊
Aww don't you worry my lovely, it's a favourite of mine too so worth repeating even if you did:))

Hello 🤗 my friend across the pond, again I have learned so much from you about style, how to put outfits together, feeling comfortable in my own skin & how fun dressing up is as an adult.
