- Honda Element goes offroad and through some puddles of mud. The Honda element is a fairly decent offroad car, if you dont think of it as a major rock crawling machine it can handle more than what you expect.
This sounds like a desperate cry for subscribers, not a Honda Element off road video...

I think if you commented about how it did on the obstacles you drove through, this video would have earned you more subscribers. There was more footage of you asking for subs than there was of offroad driving. Zero commentary on how well or how poorly it handled it.

I’ve got an ‘07 2WD/5 speed. I love it! It does great in the winters of NW PA with 4 studded snow tires. I took off the side bars for more clearance, too.
I think they are cool, I want one very much. But there isn't a single obstacle that you videoed crossing that I couldn't do to my Honda Fit.

I have the two wheel drive model I put Firestone winterforce tires on it and it instantly becomes a snowmobile. Totally unbelievable in winter snow. 406k and still burning out

That Element just looks like it belongs there it was designed with the outdoors in mind..
I've had my AWD '06 orange EX-P for four years now (just like yours) and have taken it camping on many forest roads and jeep roads throughout Idaho and Oregon. While it's missing what it needs to be a true off-roader, it more than makes up for it by being a capable AWD micro-camper that can get me out in the woods.
How do you manage getting in and out when the front is loaded up
I own one. It will be back on the road as soon as I can get a subframe for the front. But she will be running in October

What year and model Element is this? I love the color, they didn't seem to make many elements without the large plastic panels which I'm not a fan of. Also why have you had 7 elements? Are they breaking? I have had a Pilot since 03 and its still going strong.
The front grille, dashboard and front seats are from a pre-2007 version. If the paint is stock, it is a 2006 EXP.

They look like they should get about 28mpg.....but their mpg is only 21mph combined.

My wife is currently driving a Toyota RAV4 which she loves but our Bassett Hound is having a tough time getting in and out of that car because his short legs and the car's height. She says she wants to get a ramp for our dog so he can get in and out of it easier and won't ruin his back doing it. Then I suggested how about getting getting a vehicle that's more dog (or at least our dog) friendly and to look into the Honda Element. She did a bit of research and has warmed up to the idea so now we're actively looking and to replace one car for another. Despite it's looks I've always liked the Element so I'm glad she's receptive of it. The challenge is getting one in good shape without too many miles since they stopped making them is 2011 I think.
Join Honda Element classifies on Facebook.. seems to be the most honest prices for them. There are a lot of good ones to be had. Even if you got one with 80k on it.. it will easily run way over 200k reliably.. such simple easy to maintain machines. I’ve had three of them.. about to get my fourth. Try to get a 2007 or newer.. that’s when they came standard with stability control and other modern safety features.
Pick the dog up.
Ken Olsen the dog weighs 85 pounds. She can't lift him up that high into the seat of her SUV. Also the dog is long so that adds another level of difficulty because the back door doesn't open wide enough to allow her to carry the dog the way she needs to without putting stress on the dog's back and hers.

I’ve had three, an 03, 07 and 10. I miss having one.. keeping my eye out for another that I plan on keeping.. I currently own an X3.. I love it to death.., but I don’t trust it like I did The Element’s that I owned.

I own an Element. I know what it CAN do, but I also know that under those painted plastic outer fenders are steel ones that will rust, hidden behind the plastic. There are plastic shrouds and a big plastic fuel tank along the bottom, not a skid plate.. Driving an Element off of paved roads on a regular basis will cause enough abrasion and capture enough muck in hidden crevices that the underbody and mechanical components will rust much faster than driving it in the salt belt and parking it outside during the winter. :-(
agreed there is not much clearance - the AWD is OK to help you out in the snow or whatever but really it should not go anywhere that you would not take a car

Can it go offroad? Yes. Should it go offroad? Probably not as a "mudder" but to get to a campsite, or any other destination; yes. The AWD is meant to get you out of tight spots occasionally. The unibody and clearance more closely resemble a car, not a truck.

I have a 2010 SC. I don’t think my SC can do all of that easily bc they are only Fwd. Nonetheless I still love it.
It makes putting a motorcycle in the back of the element easier when the sc is a bit lower :)
I understand the SC is also lowered. As for the all-wheel drive models the system only activates when the front wheels slip.

I'm 6'3" and the original owner of an '03 Element. The front seats' leg room is excellent there's actually lots of extra headroom. The back seats have even more leg room, but they are elevated theatre seating so they lose a few inches headroom, but they are still comfortable for me.
I have a good friend who is 6'7" and he does fine.
this basically looks like a rugged fiat multipla, what a weird looking car, it doesn't even look bad.
The looks grow on you, but with time you start to appreciate its usefulness and then it becomes better looking.

You might want to look up the definition of all-wheel drive The Honda Element has never been All-wheel drive it is absolutely a four-wheel drive vehicle. marketing statements do not change reality. How can you own 7 Elements and still not know this? The Honda Element is primarily a front wheel drive unless additional traction is needed. All-wheel drive provides power to each wheel full time not sometimes. PS. That is a 4 on the back some people think it's the letter A.
You could have save us both from wasting our time by looking up the definition of All wheel drive! The Element is front wheel drive unless the
rear wheels need traction. Your Tacoma is a 4x4 cool now what does that have to do with anything?
I dare you to go to a Subaru dealer and have this conversation. Your Tacoma is a real off-road 4x4 the Element is a part-time 4x4 not intended for true off-roading the rear wheels only engage when needed. The Element is actually considered 4WD since it does not always have power driving all four wheels all of the time. Thanks for the entertainment I needed a good laugh. Subarus and certain Audi models are AWD since they have constant power going to all four wheel.

Honda Element can absolutely go off road like a tank. My friend has a couple hundred acres of wild un maintained mountain top land. He drove me all over the woods in his element. I'm not talking about driving on trails either. Imagine thick woods with trees and bushes and you can't even see, he was driving right through the full on woods, like a deer.
