Did you ever haul coils? You need coil racks some 4x4 wooden dunnage and some rubber strips to lay down on the racks and protectors for the chains. Suicide coils was the way I like to load them with the eye sideways and shotgun was with the eye running with the trailer they will slide so you have to trip block them. Favor the back of the trailer with a small heavy load you can get 40,000 on the spread and only 34,000 on the drives, use the spread to your advantage. Coil bags are nice instead of tarps, Love what your doing with that old cabover it takes guts,
I’ve never hauled coils, I don’t typically see them on the load board where I am, and when I do they’re often at the port which I can’t do because I don’t have a TWIC (yet)
@@kyle-kelliher You can pay for a escort at the port for 60 bucks they take you in and out. Your right coils are not popular where you live, they mostly are in the Northeast and Chicago the rust belt.
Typical Lamestar load all kinds of mistakes on pickup and delivery times. Lots of hassle and they save the good stuff for their guys. Some of their agents have their own trucks too. They suck up all the good loads. Looks like the old cabin over is holding up good. Sounds like it’s not too bad on fuel. Good you made it home for Christmas. Yes the rates seem to have gone down on the boards. Gotta make your money on your out bound loads.
great video. the narration is top-notch, believe it or not. for something like trucking - it's a miracle.
Im a German Truck Driver actual in my holidays in Tunisia i love to Watch Videos of American Trucks
Awesome! I just love this freightliner cabover, I saw one just like it yesterday
Landstar is one of the reasons I want to pull a tanker. Pays better. I got tired of getting lied to.
Tanker was always my favorite, they pull really nice, easy to load and unload.
Hey Kyle , just found your channel while following FSC trucking channel. I'm subscribed ! Great content , keep on trucking.
Hey man. Just stumbled across your channel…sweet cabover. Im restoring a 78 international cabover on my channel.
Hope you had a great Christmas driv,ah? Have you had that frightshaker in the snow yet?
i haven’t been far enough north to see snow. The furthest north I’ve been in this truck is Richmond, VA.
Saw a truck on 30A in Florida yesterday 15 Feb looked just like your Freightliner. With a flatbed.
That was me. Delivered trusses to the house being built down the road from the school
Small world.

How’s your back feel with that spring ride? If you have that!
It’s not that bad really, especially when I’m loaded and got some weight on the back end of the truck.
@@kyle-kelliher They are not that bad, I had an air ride that was miserable when I bobtailed.
Howdy how's the mpgs in the cabover
About 6mpg with the stuff I haul
@@kyle-kelliher thanks and I enjoy the videos keepem coming
With that cummins and 9spd, do you think it would would work well if gross weight is 90,000lbs full time?
It does 80k in the southeast decent. 90k would probably work but not ideal
If I could get a truck like this and paint it like the original optimus prime.
You can buy this one if you want
Get a other truck
Fix the bumper 😅
No money in trucking today, you'd make more money for your pocket by working at McDonald's for $15.00 an hour.
You make less considering the hours you put in trucking.
