So true, when I'm at home playing casuals all comfy and perfectly set up I play so much better than when I'm at my local spot playing with everyone watching. I mean I'm easily 50% worse

@@notforkliftcertified7884 i remember my first local was during the sf4/mvc days. Immediately got put on stream vs the best player there and got bodied but that was the best exposure therapy I could've gotten at the time

Fight people less experienced than you to practice your offense, people with the same level as you to learn how to close games, defense and neutral, and against people with way more experience to see what mistakes you make and correct them.
Beyond those aspects it's specific situations that happen that needs lab and training time.

Holy smokes I never thought about this, im very new to fighting games (first game is street fighter 6 its all i play right now) so i like learning about the community and watching better players. Its cool to get perspectives like this that I never would have thought about.

    • @DPL58

@@inactiveaccount4829 because you are new. I've been playing online in fightcade since 2021 and thr amount of talent is staggering, I've been on that mindset just as you and people just told me "play more". To a certain extent it's true, but if you want to improve, play more and solve specific situations. Fighting games are that, situations that needs a solution; if you think something is bothering you, replicate it and try to see what solves it.
One tip i can give you for lab, is test every normal, special and super against the same moves: for example since I don't play sf6: test ryu shoryu against every character normal, special and supers. That'll give you an idea when and where it's useful as an attack or a punish.
Once you have enough experience, the weird, unique and unknown situations are the things that will cost you games.

That’s honestly the biggest thing in fighting games. Stop ducking, stop picking and choosing who to fight. Matchups people everything. You need to learn to fight everyone and everything so you’re ready and prepared. Experience is everything, knowledge is also everything don’t get knowledge checked by some shit that’s easily lab-able. Stay learning y’all. Love from 🇨🇦

I also believe playing more (with the right mindset) is key to getting better. I’m from South Africa ands it’s difficult to find matches for all fighting games (SF6, T8, MK1, etc) can’t justify playing more if I can’t even find games period

i was godlike in mkx idc what anyone says lol i would run into everyone online kitana prime deoxy tweedy all the time i even got to the fox 1 week in the challenger cup..but since then the scene kinda took a turn i really can’t find ppl online where i can run nice long sets and develop a gameplay instead it’s turned into “oh you lost 1 game? im out bro” despite either the connection being spotty or maybe i’m running a new team..but the mindset has changed and it’s made it that much harder to get better..in order to get on the level of a rewind or somebody you HAVE TO PLAY THOSE TYPE OF PLAYERS..there’s just no way around it

On the part where he said you dont get props for being 9th i wouldnt say thats completely true. As someone who's trying to improve and become one of the best players I watch anyone who gets top 32 - top 8 consistently. Those are the players my eyes are on or anyone who's becoming consistent. So i wouldn't say its no rewarded its just not frontloaded its back loaded

Tbf while I don't like that. It makes sense for rewind. Dude plays professionally, not competeitively for fun. He kinda explained it too. It's not that the player is worse, but that they aren't learning from the matches.

I never heard of people not willing to fight other good players in any fgc. In my opinion the main problem with the nrs community that keeps players from getting to the top is the ego. I never encountered more disrespect from players outside of the MK games. You could beat someone the whole match and they land one combo on you and start t-bagging, then leave lol. It happens in all fighting games but in mk it’s almost tradition when I actually play it.

  • @Rockyorbed

Sonic is Pele because he made NRS games famouse like pele done with football.
Rewind is Zidane because when he plays its like a virtuoso orchestrating the pace like Zidane did.
Ninja is CR7 because he can execute and win at any game championships. Like Cr7 done with different teams!!!!
