This is the same process for the gold PEI textured build plate along with all gold/black PEI textured build plates. I use a drop a dish soap along with my sponge as it helps to remove the oils. IPA just releases and spreads around oil/grease and sometimes it gets picked up by the, hopefully clean, towel someone is using.

Really depends on how often you print stuff. I clean mine when I begin to notice adhesion issues.
How about the gold build plate by FlasForge?
