Man it's been awhile since I've seen you didn't realize that you were still making videos!! Those echo weed eaters are pretty sweet they're exactly the same thing as a mantis and back in the day when mantis was still selling them like hotcakes they were actually designed and built by echo. Those air filters were always a problem though on everything they have put them on so far I wonder if you could find something that would go on a different echo product or a gas scooter or something like that that would filter better.

I think the actual filter would be okay, it's just the problem that it doesn't seal up properly around the edges so the dirt goes right around it.
I haven't been making many videos but yeah I'm still here once in a while 😂

@@Krankie_V I agree there's just not enough clamping Force around the edges to really make that rubber seal very well at all.. well I'm glad you still put out a video here and there I'll definitely make sure to hit the Bell icon so I get notifications when you put some videos out it's fun to find the OG crew you know? Seems like there's only a few of us left.

    Planned obsolescence

I really don't believe this was intentional. It's just cheap and poorly designed. It's hard to believe they'd do something like this to intentionally kill the engine. If they wanted to build the engine to fail prematurely, they could easily implement things which aren't so obvious, like inferior bearings or piston rings, something like that which the user wouldn't see.

I never really was impressed with that air filter design; they were a bit fussy to get to seal right all the way around. My new (almost 4 years old) SRM 266 has a larger filter with a thicker boarder on the filter and even a foam pre filter as well and seems much better. How do you like the blower? I have had the same one for a little over 4 years now. Been great but I did have the carb die on it earlier this year out of nowhere. I bought a husqvarna 125bvx shredder vac blower that the filter doesn't seal worth a damn on, all kinds of dirt gets behind the filter and nothing I can seem to really do about it.

I've been very happy with the blower so far. It works great. It starts extremely easily and has a lot of power. Not too heavy either. The air filter on the tiller is really the only complaint with the tiller. Unfortunately it's a pretty significant problem. It looks like that engine is eating a lot of sand.
