Danny Elfman is a LEGEND. The music was and will always be one of the most genius film scores, but when you listen to just the orchestral versions you truly realize what was put into it. Not only that but the perfect voices and sou d effects were used and this entire movie will never be topped. Tim Burton and Danny Elfman are both legends who no one could ever come close to replacing. Nothing of this caliber will be the same when they're gone. The talent within those two men are astronomical. If this film was out out today and not so long ago it would certainly get lore awards. It's a damn masterpiece
You should also include director Henry Selick, who spent three years making sure everything was in accordance while Burton was off making Batman Returns. The animation, the screenplay, the vocals, the aesthetic, everything. Without him especially, this movie would most likely not be as amazing as it is.
@@Charles12 That is true, he didn't spend as much time for the production of it and the type of animation it was absolutely wasn't typical and painstaking to the point it probablt drove people crazy after a while. You're right, Henry deserves just as much recognition and I didn't learn until not that long ago that it was along the same timline of Batman and thst he wasn't really on set for ths majority of the time. To this day I haven't been so captivated by an animated show I could watch and never get tired of. Complete originality
I just turned 35 and only now I'm just realizing how amazing this score is. I used to wonder why people liked this movie so much because I didn't think it was that good when I watched it as a kid, but the score, the score is everything!

Halloween was always my favorite Holliday. Sure you get days off and better gifts, say, on Easter and Christmas, but Halloween is just good fun to be had. Just a time to dress up, gorge yourself on sugared confections and paint the town red. No strings attached, religious or otherwise.
Thank you for uploading this, though. I've always loved movie soundtracks and have such an affinity for instrumentals of songs from musicals, this is HEAVEN for me right now THANK YOU!

Danny Elfman likes to put in echos of the past Burton scores in each new one. It's a bit of a game. So the Wonka one is an echo of this one. He even put in an echo of the 'Ed Wood' theme into the 'Mars Attacks' theme even though he didn't write the score to Ed Wood.
Have to say, I love this moive and whenever I see that it's halloween I just start hearing this play in my head and it's awsome that people can make music like this!
This song always gets me excited for Halloween.
I think it captures Halloween and fall like nothing else.

It sounds like a mixed hybrid of Classic Disney with The Threepenny Opera.
