Cosmotron Remake & Tutorial

- People asked me more then once if I could do a Spacesynth tutorial. In this video I tried something like that, or at least; take you with me in the process of recreating a Spacesynth track, and show you how I do this.
Welkom to my analog / digital hybrid studio setup, build around the Soundcraft Series Two mixing desk. All synthesizers are fed analog into the mixing desk and digitally processed in Logic Pro.
For this track I used:
- Roland Juno 106
- Roland MKS-70
- Roland JP 8000
- Roland JV 880
- Roland D-550
- Korg Polysix
- Korg DVP-1 Vocoder
- Ensoniq ESQ-1
- E-Mu Emax II Sampler
- Alesis Microverb 4
- Boss CH-1 Super Chorus

Awesome job! Very well nailing of sounds! The use of DCO Wave 1, I would never have figured out. Amazing how they found/tweaked these sounds back in the 80's.

Rhythm section, fidbacks and bass turned out great! But Chris, forgive me for my indiscretion, but some synths are played in places on other notes. I will show the time codes (5:43 - the pass up is incorrect, 6:12 - the second stroke of four in the first chord is partially incorrect, and in the last notes of the same sound at 6:25 inaccuracies). If you wish, see in the original how Michel van der Kuy did it. And in general - you are a big handsome, of course! How many synthesizers do you have!!! I read that you are repairing them, great respect for this. And thank you very much for tutorial! He himself, having seen it, began to study FL Studio:) And soon I will buy myself the first midi keyboard.

Hey Chris, lovely work. What library did you get the Harpsiperc from? Can't find it anywhere :)
Hey Jimmy, on my Emax it is in the Emulator II library: 86 Harpischord & Elec Perc. On position 4 is the clean sound called Arpercharp.
GREAT ! How to make trumpets used in many LD songs?
That sample is called “Horny hits” and is from the Emu Emax library. I think there is a soundfont on the download page of my website 😉
