Amazing air compressor from ViAir. I'll be getting the 300P-RVS (P/N 30034). You stated two things you don't like. The heat sink will get hot because of the heat generated when compressing air. There is a piston going up and down in the cylinder. The heat is unavoidable and needs to be dissipated to avoid failure of the compressor. Secondly, The leads for the 12V power cord cannot be longer than the already generous 8 ft. otherwise too much resistance will occur, creating heat and it will draw too many amps which will overload the circuit.
I like that it's powerful enough to blow up 33's so even better for a regular sized passenger car. Also that meter is very accurate so that's a plus. These days it's like $1.50 to $3 to air up at the gas stations so this compressor will pay for itself. Great review my friend
not sure if someone already mentioned it, but you can use jumper cables to "extend" the length (hook jumper cables to battery and alligator clips of compressor to other end of jumper cable)
Power draw is the reason for the cord length. Longer would call for thicker wire, increase the price and bulkiness to pack away. I like the Viair for reliability.
@@JesseRizo As of today November 2019, is this still the best? Or there is something else better that you would recommend? Does it charge batteries as well?
Hi Jesse!!! I am looking forward to seeing your review on the ViAIR!!!! That is soo nice that it comes in its own case!!! Wow!!! It comes with everything you need!!! Including being able to hook up to your car battery yes they look like jumper cables lololol!!! it really does look professional Jesse!!! Wow!!! I saw it and it’s fast!!! Wow!!! I soo love your honesty Jesse especially letting us know that it really gets hot!!!! I soo loved your video!!!! Xoxo Pam 💝💖💖💝!!!! I love your video’s of course!!!! And the bloopers!!!!
Good video. I deduced that the cable from pump to battery is straight? But how long? And it would be nice to have seen how much tension is in the coiled hose. How easy it uncoils, how far it goes, how much you have to fight it. You kept mentioning how the pump can tip over...I'm guessing the coiled hose makes it tip over easily. Good to know for someone who wants a straight hose Not a deal breaker, but coiled is rough for long reaches out of the engine compartment, around the painted truck cab, diagonal across the back of the truck to trailer tires on the other side and back there like I have. I have a straight hose I can hopefully use. Thanks for the vid.
Look's & works very good only thing I would say on the down side is I only wish instead of using battery connection that they had it to where it would be a regular ac plug in being all trd models are equiped with the ac outlet in back of the bed, I know black n decker has one but it is a basic slow pump, I bought last year a Husky air pump from Home depot I aactually just tried it out recently on my daughter's car & it worked very well built well it plugs into the cig lighter but plenty of cable n hose I paid 50$ for it not too bad amazed how fast it airs up the tires..I also carry a proffesional plug kit that I bought many years ago from Safety Seal Co in case ever gotten flat works great but I don't recommend others that auto part stores sell they are junk..
That would seriously be way better if they invented it like that and that way it’s safely sitting on the bed rather the engine lol, Yea my friend was running the black and decker one it did do the job though just took a bit now he’s running one that I can’t afford lol 😂👍, thanks for the input my friend I always appreciate your comments
Excellent compressor...very quiet, very well-made with standard air fittings. I also have an All--Top...seems to also be well-made, but doesn't have standard air fittings (but easy enough to retrofit). Not as quiet as the Viair, but puts out a lot more air (not quite 3x the capacity of the Viair). I use the All-Top on my 4WD Suburban...the Viair stays in the car trunk.
I love it also for the price it’s awesome lol!!! Thanks bro Hey can u send me a picture of the inside of ur headlight housing like the back of it where ur leds are I want to check something on urs vs mine
I have this model and like it. One thing I’d like to see is to increase the size of the clips. They are a little small if hooking up to a super duty truck with beefy terminals. Other than that, it’s a great little pump.
I think they should of done that as well and maybe made the cable harness that also connects to the battery a bit longer as well so u can put the compressor on the floor for all the tires
I’m still running lol and even on trails I’ll air up and air down buddy’s and it’s still kicking so I’d say it’s built very good and I havnt tried it in freezing weather cold I have and it’s done fine even in hot
