Sort of, Brian. When you picked the middle garbage can you eliminated winning the credits behind that can, in lieu of a multiplier. So, you actually eliminated the 500 credits, and switched it for a 3x multiplier. The bonus then adds the two values under the un-picked trash cans (200 and 300, respectively), and multiplies it by the 3x multiplier replaced your credit value for, under the garbage can you picked. So, 200+300 x 3 = 1500. It just "worked out" that the amount was the same as the 500 credits under the can you picked timed the multiplier by coincidence.
Being a player of this game, the multipliers are either 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x. So potentially you could have won more, say if you eliminated the lowest credit amount (in the left trash can) but got a higher multiplier. For example, if you eliminated the 200 credits, you would have been left with 500 credits + 300 credits in the other trash cans multiplied by a different multiplier other than 3x (the multipliers don't repeat). So potentially, this could have been 500+300=800 x 5x (if you got the highest multiplier) for 4,000 credits. I believe the multipliers are random, ALTHOUGH the lower credit amounts tend to be replaced with the higher multipliers.

Unfortunately you didn’t get the best one cause it crosses out the $500 and adds the $200 and $300 then multiples it by 3 so if you hadn’t picked that one it would’ve added the 500 onto the other one and I believe there’s a 5 times multiplier so you could’ve gotten 700 or 800 times 5.. I used to play this game a lot! Great hits!

It has nothing to do when you spin or when you push the button. Wether you push the button now or you wait 20 minutes and push the button it doesn’t matter. Modern slot machines are basically random number generator’s and there’s no rhyme or reason when they hit or why they hit. So it doesn’t matter when you push the button your numbers either up or it’s not
Random number generator means there is a number always flickering. It doesn’t mean after you spin, it knows what the next spin will be regardless of when you hit spin. So if you spin a microsecond later, it will be a different outcome. So timing matters, unfortunately there’s no skill in knowing if you’ll have good timing or not. Luck and timing!
