    Electrical Engineering stuff is so cool, especially when it gets difficult and needs a lot of concentration, thereby making one become absorbed in it and forget about the chaos in the outer world.
    You got a great job, man 👌

      I totally agree - soldering in particular makes me zen. If I get frustrated or distracted, my hands shake, so I have to calm down, slow it down, and just focus. It's very nice. Thanks!

    Never heard multimeter pronounced that way before. First for everything I suppose.

      Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if that's an Idaho thing or just a "me" thing. I don't know. 😂

      @@CircuitBread By definition, it is the proper way of saying it; in the 28+ years in this industry, I've never heard this way. I say it to as a conversation starter.

    Great stuff. My wife just gave me an early Christmas present, a fantastic bench. Just putting my things together- it’s nice not having to work out of boxes lol.

      Awesome! I actually just moved and am in a weird limbo right now where I'm back to working out of boxes until I can get things set back up again. It is definitely a pain!

    It was an amazing video. One question "not related to video's topic :)", which substance is better and helpful when using diodes, Ge or Si?

      Also, I like your channel a lot. Thumbs up guys and step by step you'll reach your goal and will have more engineers to share your experience with.

      Depends on what you're wanting to do! Germanium has a lower forward voltage and is better at higher frequencies than silicon but silicon is cheaper and usually are more resistant to higher reverse voltages and greater temperature. Though, other than cost and forward voltage, the way the diode is manufactured makes it a big difference in their performance. Hope that helps!

    I want to check factory power quality...how it can be done

    • @CircuitBread
      @CircuitBread  3 роки тому

      Like power factor or how clean the signal is? I've never done a practical power factor calculation, so I assume it would be harder as you need to measure both current and voltage of a load at the same time and see how much of a phase shift there is. Checking for ripple or noise is easy enough if you have an oscilloscope - just hook it up and measure the unwanted noise as a ratio of the wanted signal. Is this what you were looking for?

    Where on this God’s Earth is a multimeter pronounced "m’ltim’ter"?

    • @CircuitBread
      @CircuitBread  3 роки тому +3

      Idaho? 😂
      Actually, funny story, when I was a 9 year old kid living in California, my 3rd grade teacher kept correcting me saying kilometer is pronounced "kill - AH - miter" (with a short "i" sound on the last syllable) because I kept saying "kill - o - meter". Moved to Idaho that next year and my 4th grade teacher kept correcting me and telling me I needed to say "kill - o - meter". Here I was, ten years old, unbelievably confused. Things have not changed much for me since then.

      Hey Arthur! Yep, our office is close to St. Al's in Boise and my previous house, where we shot the tutorials at the desk (like this one), is near Bown Crossing. But.... I (Josh) just moved to eastern Idaho this last week and will drive back to Boise occasionally to shoot videos and stuff as we're keeping our headquarters and studio for client videos there.
