You are a financial wizard to be able to keep your family fed and clothed on a tight budget. I applaud your dedication and creativity in doing so, especially now that prices are through the roof!!!
Thank you Federal Reserve
Have a good day on the Teal Farm
Very thrifty haul. I enjoy grocery shopping sometimes. Have a great evening to all of you.
Laura, thanks for teaching everyone some wise shopping ideas. I hope we will see that waffle maker in action.
Creamed corn is really good in cornbread. I use it in the Mexican cornbread without the jalapeno 🤣. ❤❤❤❤❤ Your videos!!!
Blessed Sunday
left over waffles are SO good in the toaster!!
Great haul. Lots of good prices.
Dollar tree has good socks and I get same cleaner only big jug at Walmart.. that’s one I like.
I love a good grocery haul!
Our Walmart sell 3 pounds of Crisco shortening for $8.18, here in Virginia.
You did 👍 good.
The Cisco thing! Some cookie recipies need it , but it’s crazy expensive! I buy the generic brand as well, works great ❤
You found some great things at Aldi. We just recently acquired an Aldi near my home… 45 min out, so I don’t get there often. I’m still learning that store.
Great grocery haul, lots of good stuff to make great meals. Sometimes you just have to splurge for extras. Yes Crisco is getting really expensive, I use the store brand and it works for what I need it for. Have a great day 😊
With as many tastebuds as you have sitting around your dinner table, consider serving that creamed corn as an optional, extra side with the first serving being just big enough to try. Then using it for the creamed corn type corn bread or muffins. Those muffins are great for incorporating cream corn; the dryer muffin type as opposed to the monster, corn pudding type.
we will add the creamed corn to chili or stew acts as a thickener as well. Crisco has gotten crazy-I told my husband that and he thought I was joking until he went too. Sometimes a little splurge can make your life a little easier! Good job!
The goody forever elastics (thicker band) do last a really long time and dont streatch out as quickly as the thinner forever ones. I bought a pack in Jan, started using them in Feb and I'm still on the 1st one. Not stretched or broken. But for now the cheaper ones are probably better for you because kids lose things. Just thought I'd mention for your long hair!
Now Laura…I know this wasn’t the focus of your vlog but I like your sunflower tablecloth. Very cheerful as I’m thinking about all the money we spend on food. But $207 for groceries is quite an accomplishment for 9 people. I can’t seem to do that for just Jack and me. I too can and freeze but I have the NASH/DASH diets pulling my food budget out of wack. But Hunny needs very rigid diet plans so I accommodate thinking as I’m standing in front of the stove how grateful I am for all the food supplies I do put up every year. Oh my but Crisco is too pricy for anything we are making. I could have picked up a number of those small waffle makers at the thrift stores for 2 bucks so I thought no one wanted to make waffles any more! Happy cooking Laura and happy substitute teaching as well. Lovely visit!!!:):):)
Sam picked it out because he's tired of the kids making the table all sticky! It's extra thick/durable amzn.to/4dA6NdE
Wow $18 ? That’s crazy. A 48 oz can is only $8.50 here in Ohio. Prices must be much higher where you live. My goodness.
I don't know what the price was so extreme this time. Usually it's expensive, but not THAT much
I don’t know if you know or not but the cheese singles no matter what brand are not really cheese. They’re called cheese food . If you get the kind that are stuck together or from the deli they are almost always real cheese. Someone told me about this when my kids were small because I just assumed they were cheese.
Mini waffle maker is a great purchase. We use ours a lot. I would think that your oldest will use it for snacks also (we do) . Everything from hash browns to brownies (yep)🤷🏻♀️. One of our favorites is hash browns mixed with scrambled eggs and cheese and of course waffles😊
