    Deleting pads from a pattern used to be annoying but they improved it a lot in the 1.14 firmware update. You can go to pattern edit, hold down DEL, tap the pads you want to clear, and press the enter button. WAY better now.

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 роки тому +19

      Does this delete the entire take in that sequence without having to hold down the pad till it loops around? If that’s the case I am so glad you stepped in to leave this on the comments because that is exactly what I was looking for lol, blessings to you and thank you for dropping by brother

      @@malobeats Yeah exactly! You have to be in pattern edit mode, not while recording, but you can clear the pads you choose from the whole pattern without waiting/listening through a whole pass. Thanks for the great vids!

      @@shadiradio Or you could just delete the whole pattern and copy your drums back on the pad you've just deleted. I do it this way, and it's very fast.

    I'm a new SP user, and I've watched a LOT of videos. This is hands down the most useful video on the SP404MkII I've watched. YMMV, of course, but it's not just the explanations of the functions, it's how they work together that is shown in such great detail. Definitely will watch any SP content you share.

    Nice! Was watching this video as i struggle with quantise settings and just end up doing everything un quantised but i struggle not playing on the grid but i want really swung beats. Am i better off messing with the percentage of quantise or using the swing setting?
    I ended up learning on your video that you can record the 16 levels in pattern mode! I thought you had to resample the levels! I always just tried to be careful with the velocity of my hits!

    • @malobeats
      @malobeats  2 роки тому +2

      Hey brother thank you so much for dropping by and taking the time to watch the video, and I would recommend just messing with the percentage of the quantization to get a better feel and groove since I feel like the shuffle feature is not as useful since I don’t hear much of a difference.
      And yes you are able to record the 16 level velocity mode in pattern mode which has been very useful since I’m always on the full level pad function and every now and then I will use the 16 level mode.

      🤦‍♂️ man, this request is huge and if they were to allow us to stem out separate tracks this would be a game changer and would seriously put up some competition to other sampler‘s. When I chop up samples and put beats together on the 404 I do it more for fun since I can’t really stand each track out but this would change a lot if we were able to stand out each track severally

      @@malobeats Yeah that’s why I’m looking at that new sampler SonicWare SmplTrek. It’s got a combo of all the samplers.

    Can I record from external source while using pattern sequencer?

    Roland needs to add a 10 track sequencer to the 404 separate from the pattern sequencer for those who like working with the pattern sequencer and it will be ready
