- The episode of the "Nature and Man", takes us to the 'Anti-Atlas' region, to discover that it is the oldest mountain range in Morocco, as it dates back to the first geological time.
It witnessed, in the past, several volcanic eruptions, the ash of which resulted in the formation of hills with fragile rocks called "witness hills".
These volcanic mounds have been exploited by man since ancient times to dig in them caves that have been passed down from generation to generation, for permanent or seasonal settlement.
The village of 'Ighzdis', one of the places in the area, is a model for this underground residences, the residents of which have moved from a nomadic life to a settled one.
The people of the region does not care about the origin of these topographic formations, but they are satisfied with exploiting them and harnessing them to their advantage.
However, they should know that it is considered a book that includes the story of those same people, and the history of the sequence of geological events that accompanied the evolvement of life in the 'Anti Atlas'.
It is a heritage that must be understood, respected and preserved.
