Minho didn't get many vocal lines in this song but he can sing, and what I've come to realize is that SM rappers are the backbone of their group's harmonies and the same goes for Minho.

As always minho is underrated when it comes to vocals but we know how much he can showcase his talent. He is a very good vocalist. I hope someday he receive that recognition because he deserves it.
Minho has stood out more on this album, I think. TBH, I don't usually care for rap, but Minho has won me over and I love his parts in every SHINee song.

Taemin has many very different colors to his voice. Many like to pigeon-hole him into that soft, whisper-like voice, but don't fall into that trap. You need to hear more of his solo stuff and SHINee stuff to understand that he can sing just about anything (except Opera - that's Onew's playpen). His B-sides, like SHINee, are gold. Songs like "IDEA", "Impressionable", "Heaven", "Danger", "Clockwork" and SHINee's "Why So Serious" will give you examples of his different vocal ranges. He has even covered a Korn Heavy Metal song. His voice is great with the Rock genre and so is Key's. Don't just listen to his title songs. Explore his B-sides.
Regarding Onew, that was a short high note for him. He holds the record in Kpop for the longest sustained note at 40+ seconds. Key has a beautifully versatile voice with quite the range and he's very underrated. Minho has a very powerful rap, but can also produce very warm, rich deep tones when he sings which can melt you.

More than agree. I feel that too, Taemin has wide vocal range & many different colors voice. That's make him so special & he is so precious to me. He always make me blown away.

One thing about SHINee is that they have 5 very unique and distinct voices yet when they harmonize they complement each other so well and creates such a beautiful sound. I live for their harmonies.

They cover so many genres they have done trap, jack swing, ballads, r&b, edm, etc... the genre that I love that they do is retro... they do alot of throw backs to 80s and 90s with a modern twist!

i agree but u have to know that all have different taste in music.. many of us especially kpop stan since gen 1,2 will love the song but the new gen stan already used to new beat so when it cames to old kpop songs for them its feel weird or not their kind of taste.. i am not talk about all new gen stan, just talk mostly of them cause i have a lot of friends that new stan, and when i show them old kpop song they are not used to it but it will grew up on them.. yeah take time but also again we have different taste in music.. glad to know u is 1st and 2nd gen stan.SAMEE HEREEE HEHEHE

In ATLANTIS they gave him more presence in rap coz he participated in the lyrics, but if you notice the harmonies you can hear his voice just as powerful as the others!!
If you listen several songs by SHINee and you notice Minho's voice or you can listen to his single I'm Home or a stage that he presented called Kiseki there you will see that he also has a great voice!
Apart from being a great composer, together with Jonghyun they wrote many of SHINee's songs, they are the first SM group to actively participate in song lyrics. On this comeback he wrote the lyrics for AREA
If you take the time to react to more of their content, you will notice that their style is very different, even though they have 13 years in the industry, most of their songs are always very fresh, apart you can notice the variety in the style going from R&B , deep house, electro, hiphop, reggae and even retro which si something that isn't normally used much in kpop but SHINee tends a lot to experiment with new things!
oh and the visuals of the mv and costumes, many are chosen by Key, he has designed costumes for SHINee as he always works with the stylists and production to see the visual concept of the albums.

Key is so underrated - he's my fave everything because he's an all-rounder who all switches to suit what the group needs him to be. Powerful vocal? check. beautiful clear or soft falsetto? check. the backbone of many of their harmonies? yup. perfect rap? check. dancing ability to rival Taemin's? yup. 100% visual? trivago. (hell yes)

This is also my first experience with Shinee. I found them on a channel where they went through their discography with children and they seemed so genuine I decided to check them out. I'm glad I did.

Minho is mainly a rapper and a visual, and his vocal isn't always being highlighted in all SHINee songs. But he can sing too, and there are SHINee songs where he sings more lines. He also writes his own rap lyrics btw
Mostly of SHINee's songs are really high and our Minho is a baritone, so yeah, they mostly give him the rap ;; but the man really CAN sing and despite his deep tone, he has such a gentle and soft voice when he sings 🥺 we need more songs when his vocals get the highlight!!!
His vocal actually almost never being highlighted...and I feel bad for him because ppl will usually assosiated that with inability to sing / hold note. Plus he's the only one without any solo album I believe? When he actually have soft and gentle voice...just not match with SHINee title track that usually showcase their ability to hold high note.
by the way it's Onew, not Key, who you point out is going half tempo on the left at 7:12. Key (on the right) is the lead dancer and is always going all out. They're all amazing dancers though and I really love Onew's dance style too - he did say he has trouble with the faster moves sometimes but he has worked really hard on it recently especially with the last two comebacks being pretty demanding in terms of dance.
I literally came onto the comments to point this out! No shade to Onew obviously but didnt want anybody to think Key isn't the amazing dancer that he is!!

You have to react to Key's solo album Face and he is coming with a 2nd full length album is coming July. He is the most fluent in English. He has perfomed English songs. He has an all Englisb track called Imagine.... it has a a disco 70s funk to it. Key has such a pretty voice and is an excellent dancer! SHINee has sometimes been nicknamed as Rainy Men... there have been alot of times when it would rain during, before, after a concert. They attract hurricanes and floods. The have preformed during a typhoon. They have performed countless of times in rain without losing a beat. They performed Don't Call Me in a wet floor. You won't spot any slip ups!

And now Bad Love by Key.... I listen everyday to the whole album.. and Helium all in English... The man is a legend!

Back in the day before Taemin had his solo debut, people used to argue over who was the better dancer between Taemin and Key lol They both are great in their own styles
At 14 Taemin proved himself as the main dancer, long before his solo debut, and as Key discussed in an interview, but they can all dance, yet for Onew, Jonghyun, Key, and Minho the main focus is vocals.

SHINee is the best! There are so many things going on this next two weeks: I'm hoping I don't get the times wrong. Taemin's Protaganist Vlive tonight, the restreaming of NGDA, then Taemin's Comeback, the Japanese Bstro, and then the Debut Anniversary! After Taemin goes on hiatus, we start all over with Key's activities, then Onew's and Minho's. I've been streaming and gathering votes in FanPlus and Idol Champ. Plus school.

SHINee is, was and has always been legendary.. not because they r talented but because they had been consistent in learning and improving and after all these years they still work hard... They r really humble, lovely men.. 5 diamonds ❤️
Glad you finally starts the journey, and this is actually quite a good choice to start, since this kind of fresh and light like soda style is quite iconic for SHINee. (I saw Korean commonly comment that SHINee proved they are the professor of this area again.)
If you like the rock style of Taemin, you will like "Why so serious" "1 of 1" too! and speaking about stunning vocalist, I am sure when you track back and see Jonghyun's work, you're gonna be amazed again! On top of that, their choreography is known for like another level of difficult and complicated, but also they can bring you the perfect live performances while doing those sick choreographies, make sure you watch the live version of "Everybody".
But if you only listen through their title tracks, you will sadly miss their soul-touching ballads, there are bunch of well-known songs that shows off their incredible vocalist and harmonies.
One last point, their fashion, is actually another icon of SHINee, I guess you will gonna discover it along your following journey, after all, when they debuted, "contemporary band" is their self-introduction, they see themselves as the trendsetter among all area, and I am proudly to say they did it in the last 14 years, still going.

I think they’re just relating their love to Atlantis. Their love is literally underwater, they are drowning in love. It seems negative because Atlantis itself suck and theirs also a negative connotation with love sinking because we relate something going down, sinking/drowning as bad.
I enjoy seeing people discover shinee. They're literally the ones who made the term "cd diet" a thing... They're that good. A group that actually still grows rapidly even after years. They debuted strong, only getting stronger

As a Glambert and Shawol, I can relate why you put reference on Adam Lambert. I love great live performances, and both Adam and Shinee kills it live in vocals. The real treasure of them is their live performances, and their capability to pull it off on live.
