Big fan from NY
I was in San Juan for the storm. I am now back in Pennsylvania now. Sad to see the center and south damage. I will be back so to the beautiful island I have grown to love.
Glad you are safe. My heart and prayers go out to many of those who are still not. Good luck in all your restoration. We can't wait to come back and visit. Maybe consider setting up a "Service Tour", where people sign up together to do some service instead of just vacationing there.
thank you so much! this is a great idea!
Thinking of visiting the island end of November. Do you think things will be somewhat back to normal?
Glad to see you're safe and hope the rest of PR can get its power and water back as soon as possible! My friends and I had been considering going on a winter trip this December to PR but now we aren't so sure. Would it be insensitive for us to be in PR vacationing while people are trying to rebuild or would the island's economy look to be returning to normalcy by then?
Mark, I too am planning to go there this winter. I thought about this as well, but after deep thinking about it, I came to conclusion that by not visiting, I'm denying them the chance to earn a little more money to help in their restoration. and many things will be restored by this winter and they will need the tourism money even more now. However, instead of spending money with big corporations and such, I will try and focus as much of my spending with the locals. Stay in an AirBNB instead of a mega corp hotel, eat at local restaurants, not national chains, and instead of just 'vacationing' the entire time, try and find a way to help someone there. I still don't know exactly what I'm going to do, but I look forward to seeing the great people there again after 30 years.
As Troy said my man we appreciate if you come with humbleness, and to experience how life really is down here. Right now almost everywhere is going back in business as long as power and water are being supplied back to them.
Been waiting for an update from u, glad u & ur lady are uninjured & moving past.
Thank you my man! appreciate it a bunch!
The resiliency of our people is unmatched. I pray for all the residents of the island that their needs will be met. Will be travelling there in a few weeks so hopefully can also lend a hand while am there. Glad you're well.
Thank you for the kind words we really appreciate it!
Glad you’re safe dude, I have full confidence in the mainland America that Puerto Rico will be restored better now than the 5 years after hurricane Maria 🇵🇷 . That’s what has been said by lawmakers here anyway.
