For a couple of years now, Louis Vuitton under Nicolas Ghesquiere has evolved (devolved?) to a point where it is no longer about clothes. These are fashion concepts and ideas-- wearability be damned! This is what Rick Owens and Commes des Garcons have been doing forever. I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, these clothes are cool and push the boundaries of what fashion is; yet on the other hand, Nicolas, especially when he was at Balenciaga, is more than capable of creating fashion that is both beautifully wearable and avant garde at the same time. Avant garde can be beautiful.

@@wheresmyrooptoff4056 Most of these clothes are at best for runway only. Have you seen Jennifer Connolly and other celebrities wear Nicholas G's creations on the red carpet? More often than not, they look ridiculous. They look like they dress in the dark or have no friends to tell them that they look ridiculous.

Loved the vibe and for me it’s all about the accessories , while there were pieces I would wear like the metallic pants and the cream short puffy dress jacket for me I would purchase the boots, bags belts and sunglasses , these pieces will be sought after
I liked the show. I am for sure jumping into an era where Louis is experimenting shapes & silhouettes. As to the color palette it stayed the same-ish, as I remember from the last show I viewed here, on UA-cam. *But I'm mainly writing to brag that LV was just here, about 2 weeks ago, in San Diego, CA. 😭 I wasn't aware of their arrival, but I for sure got to interrupt a dinner at the Saltwater restaurant, lol. & Got to do some super quick small talk with some of the "Luckiest" individuals that work for Louis. I even told every single one of those I spoke with that I envied them, right then & there. But of course, I said everything in love for fashion. **Best of luck in this season to the whole LV team. To me it looks like a modernist / constructivist take on trad. clothing like Chitons, tunics or Sari. I like it, all the more so as the setting and sunset match the colors of the collection.

Since his arrival in LV I have always found that Nicolas G struggles to define his vision for the brand. LV itself is not a fashion brand, it was originally just luggage and handbags, whereas Balenciaga had a rich couture archive for Nicolas to reinvent and interpret. This collection was probably his closest to the architectural fashion of Balenciaga during Nicolas' tenure, everything prior to this was bland, acceptable at best. I can't blame him since LV has never focused on fashion. No matter how you multiply zero, the result will be zero, but he's doing his best. A+ for effort.
To this day I still yearn for Bal's golden age, and I still wear Nicolas's aviator shearlings.

I really love Nicolas's creation when he was in Balenciaga . However , it is toomuch concept and heavy details in LouisVuitton collection now . He always tried to make the brand more Futuristic and present the mood of time travels , but the outcome is too weird more than timeless and future .

Посмотрев несколько коллекций 2022-2023 у меня сложилось ощущение, что дизайнеры не справились с "настоящим", не смогли его переварить. В этих коллециях нет идей кроме одной - эпатаж. "Эпатаж" - это все, что смогли "родить" дизайнеры. Они пошли в кино, посмотрели там на работы костюмеров, все перемешали и вывалили на публику. Бюджеты потрачены, шоу состоялось. А в это время в Европе идет война, самая настоящая война, где умирают люди, а правильнее сказать, где убивают людей. Мы все делаем вид, что жизнь осталась прежней. И это опусташает не только дизайнеров, но и нас всех.
