  • Come take a walk back in time and see what it was like to live in our state 150 years ago. with people who continue to live today as those who settled the state of Arkansas lived back then...
The Early Arkansas Reenactors Association is one of the numerous groups in Arkansas that work hard toward making the state such a special place - and the EARA truly enjoys everything that it's members seek to do and accomplish. One of the primary focuses of the group is holding a series of "pioneer rendezvous'" across the state in which members gather together for the purpose of emulating an encampment in which all attending members seek to fully portray the historical era of their desire (and these generally fall between the years of 1740 to 1860, give or take). They erect tents and dwellings that are reflective of the time period that they're portraying and they spend all of the days of each encampment living within them. All of their clothing, cooking, eating, sleeping, and recreation is done within the camp and in ways and with tools and possessions that are accurate to their time period. The majority of encampment members will also sell arts and crafts of their own making, too, allowing the general public to browse their own hand-made wares, explore their tents and campsites, observe them as they go about their daily routines, and converse with them as they answer all questions regarding the time period that they are seeking to emulate. Many of the rendezvous encampment members have also work hard to master the trades of those who actually lived back in those pioneer days, too. You'll find blacksmiths, tanners, seamstresses, bow makers, and more...all making the tools and wares of yesterday with the exact same tools as the pioneers of the day and with the same tools and resources as employed back then...and in carrying out this project we sought to produce a video that actively catches it all and share it in ways that are both educational and entertaining and appealing to all ages.
Our production team was very happy to be able to attend and film this year's 2013 annual Petit Jean Mountain Rendezvous. We greatly enjoyed everything that we got to see and do throughout the time that we got to share with the reenactors and we especially enjoyed all of the people that we got to meet and all of the good friends that we were able to make in the process. A special thanks goes to all of the members of the Early Arkansas Reenactors Association that help out so much and in so many ways throughout the production process of this project...and we hope that you enjoy the show :-)

I keep coming back to this when I go down memory lane and watch old videos. Still one of the most fun to shoot and edit. Miss the good ole days- the adventure and the mischief.

+Lost Zoo The song the musician is playing is actually an old Neil Diamond song called Solitary Man...though numerous other artists have also done covers of it. Here's the link :-) ua-cam.com/video/Ql4IiP__5ck/v-deo.html

+Lost Zoo Rawhide Justic is the one performing the song in the video, though. He was there performing throughout the rendezvous and we just stood next to him while he played and recorded him on a cell phone simply because what he was doing appealed to us so much...it wasn't until later that we realized in having done so that we had inadvertently captured the perfect set of backing tracks for the production. If you would like to learn more about Rawhide Justice or even contact him personally then you can do so through his FaceBook page via the link below :-) facebook.com/Rawhide-justice-and-the-mountain-man-mafia-1451443595073982/timeline/
