I think the “Ghoul“ at the end of the Mirage trailer, has been confirmed to be a Djinn. It makes sense, considering Basim is a Muslim from Baghdad and would have no clue who Loki is, and he is seeing Loki through the cultural veil of his own beliefs.
I loved your ac 1 comic, good job 👍 Also, you’re right, Loki is probably seen as a djinn by basim considering that he probably doesn’t have knowledge of Norse mythology and would be more knowledgeable about Islam
That’s every gaming studio in the world. The lesson I’ve learned is: never trust the vague trailers, but only their gameplay/story trailers. We shall see how the game is…
As a muslim I gotta say, to me the "Ghoul" was the Djinn in Islam, since Basim is a muslim with muslim beliefs, Loki would be perceived by him as such hellish creature, the Djinn, since his mind can not comprehend the true form of an ancient being... kinda like how Eivor saw Odin as the God Odin. I think it's cool since some Djinns are mischievous and capable of treachery, like Loki. Edit: Damn, I was right it was indeed Djinn, the narrative director confirmed it on a breakdown video.
I think Mirage is Ubisoft basically checking to see if marketing to the old fans is worth it. But they have to make it worth it for me to want to buy it.
The second I saw the trailer for Mirage and the entire AC lineup, I immediately said to myself “holy shit. That means Walshie’s going to drop another video soon!!!!” An hour later, here we are 🙌
It worries me if it's made by Ubisoft Quebec. They made both AC Odyssey and Syndicate, both of which I don't particularly like (especially the former, which I despise)
Hexe is literally a younger me’s wet dream, I’ve wanted a witch hunt game for years. And with Darby? On top of this you have mirage checking pretty much every box for me aside from the shadow demon. I think I might have to replay Valhalla just to crush my hopes. It’s probably easier just to wait for a gameplay trailer to feel crushed though.
The shadow demon (which is probably the Loki part of Basim) could be fairly interesting in my opinion. It could prove for an interesting psychological exploration of Basim as well as serve as some real horror in the franchise until Hexe (if my hopes of that are correct).
I think (assuming that mirage really is going for a classic experience) AC Mirage is really a one shot opportunity to see if it really can perform well (in terms of sales of course.... It's Ubisoft lol) I heard things about upgrading equipment to change what it does in the trailer breakdown and that's really the only bad tick I have for AC Mirage as of rn. Cautious optimistic of mirage and Hexe, to me Red is a big red flag
the new micro transactions will be the endless subscription fee, meaning you will never own your game outright like we do today. Ubisoft want to be the Netflix of gaming.
The upgrading stuff and tools sounded like the old systems. It feels like they took parts of all the previous games and combined them in mirage. Vould be good if it isn't held back by the valhalla foundation...
Watching the cinematic trailer for Mirage, I was screaming like a crazy fan girl. But throughout the whole thing I was thinking this is way too good to be true. When they didn't show any gameplay footage, I became much more skeptical. I'm trying to keep my expectations extremely low.
Ye, I'd keep my guard until we've at least seen gameplay, Ubisoft can present this game anyway they want but it's whole other thing for them to actually do it
I read an article in which Sarah said they took a lot of influence from the first few games in terms of a more action adventure type of game. She also stated that the parkour system would be similar to what we saw in Unity.
I would like to give some more details on Mirage starting out as a DLC. It was said that it was only a DLC for the first couple weeks and never got past planning before becoming it's own game disconnected from AC Valhalla.
8:20 Hocking was also a Game Designer, Scriptwriter and Level Designer for Splinter Cell 1, and Creative Director, Scriptwriter and Lead Level Designer for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory So his work on stealth is excellent with SCCT still hailed as the best of the series, so I'm curious to see what he'll do here. I hope for more social stealth (and less traditional Line of Sight based), but Watch Dogs hasnt exactly excelled in that either and he was in charge of WD Legion so idk.
Couple of follow-up things that weren't really mentioned in the presentation: - The multiplayer thing is actually another part of Infinity, currently codenamed Invictus. It's got devs from Rainbow Six Siege and For Honor working on it. - There's a second mobile game in the works, to be released through Netflix. We currently know nothing else about it. - Infinity will allow for a mix of different types of games - Red is planned to be another Odyssey/Valhalla-length game, while Hexe is a much shorter one. Should help appeal to fans of both styles.
Thank you for bringing this up. I thought I’d found most of all the things Ubisoft didn’t mention in their Ubisoft Forward Livestream but it turns out I still missed some things then. I thought all games released on Infinity were going to be RPGs so it is a relief to know that isn’t true. Also isn’t Assassin’s Creed Nexus the mobile game that will go along with the Netflix series?
@@jormdeworm I don't believe the Netflix game has been named. I don't think we actually know ANYTHING about it apart from the fact that it exists! AC Nexus is rumoured to be a VR title, though we've heard very little about it since June, when a leaker claimed it would allow you to take on the role of various AC characters, starting with Ezio.
I have never been this excited for AC since Origins 😭 Mirage Looks so good , Finally AC with Ninjas ! And a dark atmospheric Assassin's Creed written by Darby Mcdivett! The future is Bright Boys 🤩
i was impressed by the trailer, but at the same time, this was just a cinematic, and you can't trust a cinematic trailer, they need to upload some good gameplay trailers to convince me, however i'm also not going to buy into the preorder nonsense, because unlike most, i want them to prove their game isn't going to be full of game breaking bugs and glitches and i will only trust the reviewers i trust not the hand picked shills that they are likely going to pay to promote the game.
don't forget that it's just a "mirage", an illusion of something we all wanted from the beginning, until we got some gameplay, a concrete image of the game.
It's mind blowing how there is so much hype YET there was No Footage shown whatsoever. Something tells me many people are just desperate to believe and eat anything these days smh.
I’m mixed, mirage sounds promising but still wary, actually looks like an AC game. the Japan one doesn’t interest me in the slightest, generic setting like odyssey and Valhalla, RPG style, not interested, china one as you said, mobile game and set before the hidden ones so no reason why we have an assassin doing the leap of faith so not interested. Hexe sounds promising
Im happy that for the AC Red, they are using a fantasy that is actually compatible with being a Brotherhood Assassin, being a shinobi/ninja. If they do the historically accurate version they have to make a focus on social stealth because shinobi/ninja would use that. Or if they do pop culture they have to have a somewhat good stealth system because ninjas are generally thought of as running on rooftops, sneaking around places. Let's be happy they chose a fantasy that is compatible with being an assassin and not something like they did with Valhalla.
One small problem: Shinobi weren't just assassins even in real life; Sure, they DID do assassinations, but that wasn't their express purpose. Basically, instead of trying to compare the Shinobi to the Assassins, a better comparison would be the CIA or KGB, but independent of any group or government, and only loyal to whoever pays them: Not opposed to killing when the job calls for it, but much more about disinformation, sabotage, and pretty much any job that you kind of associate with spies; If you pay them for a job, they will get it done.
The Japan one, since is “the RPG” you can probably create your own character too. They should also support multiple play styles, stealth included! Hexe got me hooked more ngl, but it will probably be very fantasy-like! For now, I’m most excited for Mirage! Seems to be exactly the game for me!
I doubt Codename: Red will have character creation. There's no way they'd do that for one of their flagship titles. It probably just means they're going to either rehaul or completely refine the RPG aspects. Hopefully they'll remove dialogue choices, and make the customization and selection of armor and weapons more meaningful. For the most part in Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, you can wear and fight with anything without many consequences, while making sure to upgrade whatever it is you want to use permanently (or continue switching to stronger gear). That's pretty boring, though. I would want an RPG game to focus more or benefits and sacrifices. Origins did something similar, but only because the weapon types actually did something. Daggers were fast and could deal more damage over a short period of time, though were risky. Other weapons gave more range or gave easier maneuverability, but made fights take much longer because they were slower. And then the different bow types were perfect in that game. Not to mention poison actually did something in Origins. I would want Red to do that, but extend it to the individual weapon categories as well. Maybe one katana deals more damage and can stun enemies but is heavier and is slower than this lighter, weaker one that causes bleeding damage. I'd like to actually think about what I equip to my character. Also applying that same type of depth to the armor and outfits would be a very smart decision. Some armor could be lighter, quieter, and have low defense (but increase movement speed) depending on the materials and size, and others could be heavier, louder, and have high defense (but also decrease movement speed). Also, being Japan, the stealth, combat, and parkour systems need to be refined and/or rehualed as well. Do I doubt any of this will happen? Yes. But it is pretty far off, and they have had more than enough time since Valhalla's release to improve upon those aspects of the engine. At least three years time from the release of Valhalla (and possibly even more time from before it released) to be able to make these necessary changes to improve the RPG gameplay. Though I would prefer a skill tree similar to that of Unity or Syndicate than the Layla trilogy. But like I said, I doubt they'll let the players create their own character for a flagship game. That looks to be something they are doing for the mobile China game, though. Which may or may not be interesting depending on what happens in it. It could be like the amazing Crescent Moon RPG games (Ravensword and Aralon (the first one is far better than the second) where you could create your characters, but the story was definitively set. They haven't confirmed Jade is an RPG, but since there's character customization, it probably will be. But I'm still interested in it nonetheless. Want to find out more about Hexe as well. It might be nice if it were a horror game. They hage said it offers a very different experience for Assassin's Creed, so that's all I can really think of. Though it would be hard to make a horror game and play as an Assassin. If anything, you'd have to play as either a random civilian or Templar and live in horror as you see the acts of the Assassins around you. An Assassin could work, it would just be a lot hard to be scared when you can kill almost anything. Meaning the horror would have be atmospherical.
I watched these reveals expecting to feel nothing but.. Mirage and Hexe has potential and I am cautiously optimistic. Darby working on an AC game is just really exciting
Fan base are checking to see if Ubisoft can actually deliver a classic AC meanwhile Ubisoft is checking if a classic AC would sell. Interesting situation here.
They are trying to do something for everyone, I love the fact it's not the same old game over and over valhalla and the rpgs style is awesome as was the originals
don't be surprised when their library of games turns into an endless subscription service just to play any of their games, including the past games as well.
I believe the developers said that there would be no fantastical elements outside of the Djinn in Mirage which makes me happy. They were also saying that they realized after Valhalla they don’t need to keep releasing RPG games, so hopefully that means they get more creative with the type of games they make, with RPG versions coming out every few releases.
I'm mostly interested in Hexe because it seems to be during the fall of the HRE, which is a VERY interesting point in history. Plus we really haven't gotten any Assassin's Creed in central Europe. Paris is as close as we got, and it excited me to see what they do with it.
It's also going to be closest thing to a direct sequel to Ezio's adventures closest in the timeline within cultures and lands that interact directly and have pretty similar social conflicts.
@@flamesofchaos13 It would be great if the assassin robes for Hexe would be heavily based off of Altiar's iconic robes, albeit primarily coloured in black.
Honestly no gameplay what so ever is pretty suspicious for me personally. The cinematic trailer heavily implies many of the old AC game mechanics like double assassination, social stealth kills, and of course the classic hidden blade kills but no one can really tell how it will play out in the real game or if it even feels like classic AC.
@@jonwong2267 It honestly looked like the bench assassinations from the older games, but maybe that’s just me being hopeful about social stealth since it seemed to be a really pointless inclusion in Valhalla
@@ninjafrog6966 social stealth was mostly pointless because of the size was the map. With a smaller city map it will at least be more frequent. I think there was an update for social stealth in valhalla that received good returns but I m not too sure about it. So mayne with these two elements they can make something that works
I really wanted to see some gameplay too, but that trailer was awesome. I hope the gemaply trailer get the community hyped like in the empire/origins days
I went in... cautiously optimistic... but I have to Admit, they've got me back! I dropped off after finishing Valhalla (and the first 2 DLC) But Mirage might just win me back! Let's see if they can keep me this time!
And also thank you for sharing skepticism and views on the lineup. Honestly despite Jade being a mobile game i wanna try out the new or old type of AC For mobile players never truly gotten that experience for decades. new to give my opinions and have a fair chance. Old enjoy it although never experience it only a watch
I'm very excited for Hexe and Mirage, not really excited at all for Red, Quebec has failed to show any ability to write a good Assassins Creed Story, and I'm just trying to ignore the existence of Jade
When I think of the Assassin’s Creed RPG experience I think of Origins that sweet spot of classical AC and the RPG era so that’s I’m hoping Red is like, I’m excited for Mirage most of all and Hexe Darby’s writing it so maybe let’s se how much say he has cause it could be just like Valhalla all over again. Jade I’m just gonna straight up ignore mobile games are outside of my interest Also with the “Ghoul” in the Mirage trailer I think is Loki’s consciousness starting to manifest in Basim’s subconscious and may try to brute force control Basim over and over while Odin tried more of the trickster approach with Eivor in Valhalla
If Red has the stupid multiple endings bs that makes no sense FOR ASSASSINS CREED where you are reliving history, sadly Red may place low among my AC game ranking.
@@zachorryy maybe wait and see if Red does do that before declaring it so? Not to say there should be skeptisim, it's supposed to be an open world RPG game, but yeah for all we know that could be repeating Origins system which did not do that multiple choice shit
@@ConnorLonergan i loved Origins and as of right now where the most recent game was Valhalla I considered Origins to be the last True assassins creed game even though the parkour was nonexistent, I did enjoy many of the gameplay elements and the fact that we bore witness to the origins of the Assassins or the Hidden Ones in a linear storyline makes me think it was the last True AC game. Even though admittedly I like the Ezio Trilogy, 3 and Unity more than Origins it still rates highly for me. If Red was like Origins I would have no problem with it but if they do the multiple ending stuff like with Odyssey and Valhalla I would have a problem with it. From what was established with what is known of the Animus is it allows you to relive the memories of a deceased individual through the DNA i.e. reliving history. While it was revealed through AC Liberation and Black Flag that Abstergo is able to completely alter memories (censoring Avelines Memories to make the templars more favorable and altering Edwards memories for entertainment purposes) the core information regarding the animus remains mostly the same. It never made any sense to me why choosing to kill a character or not kill them affects the story when we should be reliving history and we shouldnt have a choice to spare or kill. I dont mind the dialogue options in the rpg games I just hate the story altering choices as I feel they have no place in ac games. Sorry for the rant i am done now.
@@zachorryy I guess that’s your opinion but my take on it is that it made the game more interesting and interactive. The idea of my own in game choices leading to one outcome that can change if I made other decisions is dope to me. 🤷🏾♂️ I played all the other AC games I don’t think a game should be faulted for trying something new.
I don't like that people believe they're can't be a game set before origins, there are so many places in geography and time before Origins setting, since we're not following the same historical assassin across the games I'm absolutely fine with it, Bayek set up the hidden ones in Egypt but who's to say other parts of Africa hadn't been touched by people who have similar ideologies to the assassin's? These self contained stories are better in my opinion, playing AC2 only to not kill the borgia and have in run through into a second game feels shitty to me I loved AC1's story and how revelations added to it, whether or not it was a retcon is a different question entirely. I've wanted AC in ancient China and especially Ancient Japan for as long as I've been playing now the glimpse on the horizon showing me they're there, in production, working on the world I want to see excites me. I'm a huge Greek History buff and I won't lie Odyssey is NOT the best game I'm the series but for someone like me who values western RPG's just as much as Greek mythology Odyssey was an underappreciated master piece because of the world building and the accuracy to actual historical records it was heavily bloated to the point where I still haven't completed my second playthrough as of writing this comment, its far from perfect but I honestly believe 90% of the worlds population couldn't have made Odyssey better in a way that matters to me, unless they added social stealth and grab ledge, those are the two systems I do feel are lacking in the newer titles and if they were addressed I'd probably find something else to complain about but all in all I got a great deal buying and playing Odyssey, I wanna try valhalla but I can't find a version that has everything I want to play for cheap enough but who knows maybe next year
It's actually stated lore from AC2...One of the fan favorite Ezio titles literally ranked up there as one of the best AC games. That there exists Proto-Brotherhood's of Assassin's that the Italian Brotherhood recognizes as Legitimately Full-Blown members of the Creed posthumously. Because they had the same Ideals and Practices and Equipment as the more modern Assassin's Brotherhood to come later. Altair literally stated in his codex that the Creed is simply an interpretation of a much older philosophy. He was right their version was a deformed and corrupted version of the Greco-Egyptian Creed of Bayek of Siwa and Aya/Amunet. The Original Proto-Assassin's are Adam and Eve of Eden fighting for and preserving Free Will. The in-universe Assassin's following the Creed and part of the Modern Brotherhood consider...Adam and Eve, the Proto-Assassins of Babylonians, Persians and Chinese as 100% Brotherhoods in their own right. One's that are indeed part of the Creed prior to it's wording out loud. Because the Assassin's realize what matters isn't some fucking piece of cloth or golden apple or cutting off a finger...To be one with the Creed is to realize the very fabric of reality is Deceptive and that Free Will must be safeguarded and ensured from nefarious forces throughout existence! Why the Fanbase is ignoring this part of the lore to discredit these Proto-Assassin's is fucking ironic and directly contradicts their claim of being Hardcore Fans of the OG titles. As Altair and Ezio would slap them for this heresy of the Creed. Okay Altair would just kill them but you get me I hope.
Love the video, and your takes on all of this - just quick little thing, please get a pop filter or something, very slight popping going on from your mic which is a little irritating in my right ear lmao
I agree with what you say about people saying bring Desmond back. I would also like to see his son Elijah in the games as well. Seeing his a Sage’s past would be interesting as well
They got my hopes up but that's also what I'm afraid of, again, I agree with every single thing you've said in this video and if hexe in any way lives up to even only the atmosphere in the teaser, it's going to be at least something interesting.
I’m assuming Hexe won’t be RPG. I do think it’s fair to make that assumption, but it is Ubisoft. Also I’m truly excited for Infinity. I think this is the best medium for casual fans and intricate fans. I’m okay if they don’t have modern day in the game themselves, but it could easily be part of the “free” or reduced price DLC within Infinity, so it might also be given more attention. I do have SOME hope and anticipation for the series. I am excited for the live action show if they can do it right. I just like the eternal struggle between Templars/Assassin’s and that overall story. It’s ridiculous, but it’s so much fun.
don't be surprised when infinity turns into an endless subscription service just to play these games with no option to just purchase them and play them forever.
@@FlaviusConstantinus306 nope, they want the endless subscription service model, because they could potentially make more money if enough time goes by. this is what "games as a service" is, it's literally the same thing what Microsoft were trying to do with stadia, although i don't know how they will accomplish it if they choose to use the same method. maybe they will lock the user in a contract for up to 5 years or something. the good news is, that there will be no more microtransactions, because they will be replaced with endless subscription fee as a service to play the game.
To your last point about an overarching narrative - is there any hope for the Loki in modern day story line? He and Alethia seem to have some kind of a plan…but then again we could just get the Juno treatment again where it just gets resolved in a comic or the Netflix properties 🤷🏼♂️
Alright. I'll speak here as a fan of the AC franchise that's played all of the games (except Altair's chronicles), including the sidescroller chronicles. I've played most of the games more than once (AC1 thru Syndicate... the RPG ones are too long for multiple playthroughs IMO...) I have seen the games in their original formats and recent ones. I'm a fan of both. I absolutely cherish the original titles. But I also have fun with the new ones (GRANTED... not as much as the first installments). Origins was IMO the best of the recent games, having a well-written story with plenty of awesome lore drops and (at the time) fresh new combat that wasn't too offputting for me personally. I also enjoyed Odyssey and Valhalla; HOWEVER, those two are black sheep in the series for myself and many people for all the reasons that have been summed up time and again by this channel and others like Fizhy and Lazzerz. I prefer stealth mechanics and playing as an actual assassin in the games that sport the title. I like the lore bits that the two games (O and V) delve into, including the settings, because I am a fan of history no matter the culture, climate, geography, etc. But the last two games lack the essence of the first installments because in one, you're a greek mercenary with superpowers, and the other one, you're a Viking with seemingly 'noble' aspirations. And the mystic stuff is cool and all for content if it's a separate title from the game. I have a love for mythological lore and history games. God of War is my favorite mythological series, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a history game. When you conflate the two into one game concept, it kind of overloads it for me... especially since the series started out being very historic with elements of science fiction. The latest installment is kind of a historical-scifi-fantasy amalgamation that is bending the lines between fiction and non-fiction and the contrast is exceptionally jarring. You play as a person in present day looking through the eyes of a person who lived long ago but also witness their fever dreams that catapult you into an ancient past when apparently the nordic gods and associated monsters were real? Stick with the epic stabbings and occasional glowy sci-fi objects IMO... But besides all that beaten horse riffing, the entries here look promising, but as we all know: looks can be deceiving. A CGI trailer for Mirage was cool but gameplay is important here. If you want a game to return to the roots of the series storywise... then a more-sturdily-crafted present day component is important as well since the older titles are tied by Desmond Miles and his fight against the present-day templars. Since Rogue, present day took a plunge into comics and books which of course I barely ever looked into because I don't much care for print media but I may yet give those a shot one day. The mobile game is interesting but sets off some flags for me.. like what is the structure of the game, a 3d platformer or a sidescroller? because the trailer for codename jade was simply a trailer and I'm not sure that I want a platformer taking up considerable space on my phone.. or worse; Assassin's Creed: Temple Run. However, codenames red and hexe look interesting and both periods have been on my AC period-piece hitlist for quite some time. The scary thing is I don't know if I like the structure of 'AC Infinity.' It's going to become the "hub" for Assassin's creed going forward?? Are they not releasing games as standalone titles anymore? or are they switching to something kind of like Elder Scrolls Online where its a game but every expansion - each new story and setting- comes with an extra cost? Will infinity be Ubisoft plus exclusive? I mean that's what is upsetting me about it. I mean if they pull future content from the open market and platforms I think they'd lose a lot of their breadwinning base... but who knows... I wouldn't put it past the company's practice records. Idk I think I'm just paranoid about change coming to the structure of the series even though there's been plenty of negative change already. I've invested too much time in the series to jump off ship. If the series sinks then I'll have lifeboat games to escape with but I'm riding this ship til we hit the proverbial iceberg.
I am honestly really excited for Hexe, I have a theory/prediction of what the story will be about So we know that Mirage is sort of (hopefully) going to be more of a classic ac experience. Codename red will be an RPG in the style of odyssey and valhalla, but it has been already confirmed Hexe won't be an RPG and that Darby is in charge, which is why I believe we will be getting both types of games in the future, and that Hexe will be closer to Mirage in style, and that it will be assassin focused, which means I think I know how the story might go and here's what I predict. All we know about ac Hexe right now is that it will take place during the roman witch trials in Germany With the very limited info we have, and from the short teaser we got, I think that to some extent in the teaser where we see the assassin insignia hanging from a tree, I think it could symbolically be showing the hanging of the creed, and that the story will be assassin focused, where we play as an assassin at a period where we use some piece of eden, which in turn makes people believe the assassins are using witchcraft and want the creed charged to trial and hanged. The title of the game (unless they change it) right now is codename Hexe, which literally translated to "witch" in german, and I think that apart from insinuating what the game might be centered around, it might also be very on the nose, as in "Assassins creed: witch" meaning that literally, we play as assassin "witches". So to sum it up, I'm fairly certain the "witches" will be the assassins and we will play as a female protagonist for the first time without gender choices, where the game will be about how the assassins acquire a piece of eden in a mission against the templars, and through the use of it the town accuses the assassins to be witches and ultimately gets them hanged (as the teaser symbolicly shows, because it's hard to believe the assassins would be using actual witchcraft and leaving insignias for spells like what we see in the teaser), if the rumours about hexe being a dark game in tone are true, it could ultimately have a bitter ending to show how horrible and unjustifiable the witch trials were
An interview said it’s scope is similar to Rouge or Revelations. Inspired by AC 1 and AC 2. And that the developers spent 5 weeks on the game has DLC before making it into a “full game”. I got hope this will be a good game but probably not great.
Obviously it’s too early to tell, but i wonder if Hexe and Red will be meant to be played in a particular order. It seems like, by announcing the two at the same time, they’re trying to cater to two different audiences. To your point, there seems to be nothing connecting them at this time.
Unfortunately, it looks like Infinity is just a hub connecting anthologies to one another. Halfway through this (www.ign.com/articles/assassins-creeds-modern-day-story-will-now-be-told-through-infinity) article MAC says "The way we tell the story will evolve with time,” Côté said. “But the abstraction that we want people to have is [Infinity] is your Animus. It is your DNA Explorer on your desktop. You are the main story character.” This feels like PR-Speak for "Well, the MD was pretty divisive so we've cordoned it off from everything and it will no longer be a part of these experiences". How much MD they deliver remains to be seen. When there's no obligation to deliver it at all anymore I doubt we'll see much connection unfortunately. Truly sucks. Any time Ubi takes a couple of steps in the right direction, it feels like they're almost obligated to walk them right back...you know, to keep you on your toes lmao
@@WalshieYT1 “You are the main story character” sounds exactly like the part of the modern day people hated about Black Flag through Syndicate. Not liking the sound of it overall
Personally I found the idea of Hexe much more intriguing than a game set in Japan, as great as that has the potential to be. Didn’t know there was such a promising team working on it, that’s awesome to hear. AC always has a way of getting me interested but these days I’m trying to stay cautiously optimistic
@@unicorntomboy9736 Here's the thing: They can be both. Historically speaking, some Samurai were actually hired as Shinobi, and it all comes down to one loophole: Samurai was a social class, but Shinobi was an occupation; A job, essentially. Something you get paid to do.
Anyone more excited about Hexe than Red(Japan) . I mean, it's coming from Montreal plus the creative director is the guy from Splinter Cell: Chaos theory.
My one bother with Mirage is that it's been confirmed that there won't be a modern day other than a snippet towards the end...partly it's good because that would mean the next time we'd see modern day it would be under Darby's Supervision in Hexe but on the other hand... that's like what? 3 years or so of waiting to see wtf happens with Layla, the reader, Basim, desmond's son, desmond's dad... cmon man...
I’d say probably Hexe is gonna be a Germany set game - so very Prussian I guess but the fact looks spooky and all for witch trials makes it sooo interesting. Really hope can stalk my enemies through the Black Forest
Something I've never liked about Assassin's Creed ever since I was a teen playing AC1 is that I just don't like being pulled out of the gameplay to have some modern day narrative and it felt like with each game the modern day stuff became more contrived and ridiculous (though I haven't played syndicate or the RPG titles) but it's a series I really want to like
What bugs me the most about this franchise is how great the older games were and the potential classic Assassin's Creed had on more advanced technology. There are a few minor tweaks to the old games I woul have liked, well combat could definitely be improved (other than that parkour animations and graphical limitations), but these games still made me feel like a badass. It's just a damn shaame that corperations like Ubisoft will never give a single shit about their fans and prioritizes trends and markets outside of their established style. I guse the fans just aren't as lucrative a market anymore. I'll wait and see what they have in store for the future, for what it's worth I supose. I really don't want to give up on this series.
codename jade is not going to released on infinity i think cause the design of the boxes shown in the the last minute drawn a line between red/hexe and jade/netflix
Mirage - I guess Ubi are testing the old formula to see if it sells well. If it’s really an old school AC, then shut up and take my money Hexe - the setting is weird, but fits perfectly. Hopefully they don’t turn it into “save 1748389493 witches in 288383 locations”. Red - I love the idea of the shinobi fantasy and I rly don’t care much about the Assassin Aspect of it. I think Ubi should have created “Assassins Creed Universe” so that they could make games that take place in it, but are not always about the assassin protagonist.
0:47 I straight up thought the same thing. I was all for this new AC game. It looked like AC (which hadn't been seen in a while) then those last 2 seconds I was just like "FOR FUCK'S SAKE, UBISOFT!"
I think that Mirage is a very fragile game but could actually be pretty good, Hexe is looking pretty sweet but what I’m really excited for is the Feudal Japan one, when talking about the RPG games I think there actually pretty good seeing as some of the templates and different ideas it uses adds to the game, although they are getting a bit old but I’m just hoping they can come up with a cool Samurai Assassin crossover thing that could be pretty cool. Valhalla wasn’t as bad as people say, it’s very fun in my opinion but the older games are far superior.
AC Valhalla - RPG AC mirage - back to basics Project red - RPG again I'm seeing a pattern here. Maybe they've come to a conclusion to release games alternately. From RPG to back to basics and rinse and repeat If I am right, the other game codenamed hexe will be all about stealth assassinations once more
I've seen some people bring up its shorter length as a point of concern, which is upsetting. You can bang out most of the old ACs in ~10 hours. 15-20 is a great length. Anything over 50 hours makes me feel sick. Fair play for making Eivor's final chapter free. I'll probably check it out. There is 0 hope for project Red. Its just gonna be another odyssey. I'm ignoring it. Hexe is to be determined.
I mean your point of view about them specifically saying "open world rpg" stands, even because the focus has been centered on Mirage and Hexe, but there is the other view which I'm most afraid of. I'm scared that my money buying Mirage will eventually go into their next MMORPG madness and I don't want that. I'm scared that our love for Mirage will be abused by Ubisoft into getting us to buy their other massacres. It's still Ubisoft and even though there have been changes there after the scandal that erupted, I just can't trust them. Nonetheless, Ubisoft has listened to their fans quite a lot recently and I hope our case (which I believe to be the majority) got to their ears. They need to release a good 4 or 5 games proving that they are back at being the company that released the very first 3 games. They don't even need to fully go back to their roots, but we need something innovative which in the same time represents the soul of the series. Probably then they'll gain my trust again, and it's fine if they release a game for the stupid kids that are into RPGs as long as the core of the series is separate and untouched.
Nothing pissed me off more than them saying the classic “our most ambitious expansion” about Dawn of Ragnarok. I bought it half off, and still felt a little ripped off. Can’t imagine how people felt who paid full price felt. I’m cautiously optimistic about future games, though! Hoping for some good stories that actually include Assassins and Templars.
My opinion for mirage is. God i hope i am wrong but mirage really smells like a nostalgia bait cashgrab. If I'm wrong i may finally go back to the series after odyssey shot my last remaining hopes and vallhalla burned its corpse.
You've got more guarded optimism left over than I do over narrative temptation and legitimate return to the old AC mythos and franchise commandments than I do, or most people who have been connected to these games imo. But you hit every nail on the head as far as Ubisoft's corporate habits and their immense skill at drawing people in just to suck them dry of any extra cash that they can. And that's not even to mention the ongoing sexual misconduct allegations that still plague Ubisoft and haven't been directly handled or addressed, as far as I know; someone tell me if things have changed on that front, but I don't think they have. The company is still vile and the games are still going to be a sick joke and it will take a lot more than one potentially decent 'return to form' game for many of us to even consider hopping back into the Ubisoft money train.
Ik they said it will release on Xbox one but when u showed the Ubisoft store it did do show Xbox one only the series and when u try and pre-order on the Microsoft store on ur Xbox one is say currently not available. Do you think that’s Microsoft end or Ubisoft being Ubisoft
Oh and my thoughts abt the showcase kind of disappointed. I mean ppl are excited at the fact that they are investigating it but they are getting their hopes up too much. B/c it would have to be good for the players and for Ubisoft greed so they have an excuse to release it. But mirage looks cool wish their was some modern day for mirage apart from the ending supposedly but other than that I won’t buy until gameplay reveal.
I’ll have to see Mirage gameplay first, but so far I’m not really interesting since it’s a step backwards and going back to the roots. Super excited about Japan and Hexe tho
Yeah people were out here saying that requiring gameplay to tell if it’s going to be a good game was being picky basically people out here being shells.
I feel you put all my feelings into words really well We can only hope, but its hard to hope seeing what games we've got over the years Mixed feelings on Mirage, I hope it does bring in those core elements of a creed game we want. Your feelings on it in your last video was perfectly said Jade looks boring, I can't lie. No interest. Red however, I won't lie. I hope its good, I think it will be cool having a game for those who like the RPG stuff, and I think the Shinobi fantasy with RPG elements will actually go down really well. I see that being quiet successful, especially if they differ the two branches of game play. Having a creed thats RPG for the new players or those who did like it- and having those mechanics we miss from the older games on the main franchise going forward. That does sound smart. and it sounds like it could be really sucsessful. But it's Ubisoft so its so hard to just hope - that something that could work out so good, actually will. We have been burned as you put it Hard agree that Hexe looks promising. I'm glad you brought up the history and culture things, because that was indeed what I loved throughout all the games. Good and bad, I still love the ties of their lore, with real world history with iconic historical figures. And while some games really missed on their chances to really show it up well, its still one of my fave things in this franchise was that mish mash of fantasy with real history. I really hope Hexe pulls through on that I agree, I won't actively wish bad on these games. And I want to hope they will be good, its just hard given what Ubisoft has done to the games.
You right now sound like one of the few smart people on the Internet when it comes to Mirage, and also someone who knows how to keep his hype in check. ALL WE HAVE SEEN RIGHT NOW IS A CINEMATIC! and literally so many people seem to be hailing it as a return to form and return to basics for the series and are getting exceedingly hyped. No one has any right to be doing this until we have at least started seeing some gameplay. The fact that cinematic trailers still get this kind of positive reaction in the *cough* *cough* GAMING industry (Especially one from a company like Ubisoft) is legit worrying.
I feel like Im being held hostage by Ubisoft. I mean, i have been a fan for so long that im most likely going to buy all of these games, but with every new release it seems more and more likely that im gonna hate it. After odyssey i told myself “never again, i will never buy a new AC” but then came along Valhalla. I love history a lot more than many AC fans, i think and the viking age is close to my favorite timeperiod so they got there hooks in me again. I actually liked the the game up until my character when on a “spiritjourney” to Asgård. After that i just didnt care anymore. I want to think that i wont buy this new game, but it already has it hooks in my in two ways. The nostalgia for “actual Assassins” and the history stuff with the Abbassid Empire and all that.
The story died with Desmond, I only play the AC games for the gameplay and setting now so I’m fine with the Japanese one and Jade. I probably won’t play Jade but I’ll still play the new ones just for setting and gameplay alone so I’m not burned again
i am so fucking sad that they are making the assassins creed game set in japan not a assassins creed game and its just going to be a shinobi experiance like wtf man the most wanted setting for a AC game and they are making it a rpg game like holy fuck man 🙄
I think the “Ghoul“ at the end of the Mirage trailer, has been confirmed to be a Djinn. It makes sense, considering Basim is a Muslim from Baghdad and would have no clue who Loki is, and he is seeing Loki through the cultural veil of his own beliefs.
Basim isnt a muslim hes Arabic
Jinns were believed by arabs even in the pre-Islamic middle east
Don't pontificate please
I loved your ac 1 comic, good job 👍
Also, you’re right, Loki is probably seen as a djinn by basim considering that he probably doesn’t have knowledge of Norse mythology and would be more knowledgeable about Islam

These cinematic trailers always get people hooked, when they really didn't show anything yet
That’s every gaming studio in the world. The lesson I’ve learned is: never trust the vague trailers, but only their gameplay/story trailers. We shall see how the game is…
@@anthonyworstell3768 no it's not every gaming studio. Plenty of studios actually deliver.
I really hope it'll be good, like ubisoft is ubisoft but they can still create good games and they do sometimes
I think Mirage is Ubisoft basically checking to see if marketing to the old fans is worth it. But they have to make it worth it for me to want to buy it.
They know it's worth it. They have been dangling shit infront of us for ages.
It's like 50 quid which is actually pretty good

"I think I might have to play Valhalla to crush my hopes." You're hilarious.
The creative director is from Splinter cell ,chaos theory btw.
I think (assuming that mirage really is going for a classic experience) AC Mirage is really a one shot opportunity to see if it really can perform well (in terms of sales of course.... It's Ubisoft lol)
I heard things about upgrading equipment to change what it does in the trailer breakdown and that's really the only bad tick I have for AC Mirage as of rn. Cautious optimistic of mirage and Hexe, to me Red is a big red flag

Watching the cinematic trailer for Mirage, I was screaming like a crazy fan girl. But throughout the whole thing I was thinking this is way too good to be true. When they didn't show any gameplay footage, I became much more skeptical. I'm trying to keep my expectations extremely low.

I would like to give some more details on Mirage starting out as a DLC. It was said that it was only a DLC for the first couple weeks and never got past planning before becoming it's own game disconnected from AC Valhalla.
Mr Hocking(Creative director for Hexe) was also HEAVILY involved in Splinter Cell: Chaos theory.
8:20 Hocking was also a Game Designer, Scriptwriter and Level Designer for Splinter Cell 1, and Creative Director, Scriptwriter and Lead Level Designer for Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
So his work on stealth is excellent with SCCT still hailed as the best of the series, so I'm curious to see what he'll do here. I hope for more social stealth (and less traditional Line of Sight based), but Watch Dogs hasnt exactly excelled in that either and he was in charge of WD Legion so idk.
Couple of follow-up things that weren't really mentioned in the presentation:
- The multiplayer thing is actually another part of Infinity, currently codenamed Invictus.
I’m hoping hexe is a classic game so that we have basically alternating titles between classic and rpg style games

So Mirage is not gonna be bloated, it’s finally gonna ditch the rpg crap and it’s cheaper? Sounds like an absolute win
If I wasn't boycotting Ubisoft, I would be hyped for Mirage and Hexe TBH
They are trying to do something for everyone, I love the fact it's not the same old game over and over valhalla and the rpgs style is awesome as was the originals
don't be surprised when their library of games turns into an endless subscription service just to play any of their games, including the past games as well.
@@5226-p1e And you know this how? What's your source, clown?
I believe the developers said that there would be no fantastical elements outside of the Djinn in Mirage which makes me happy. They were also saying that they realized after Valhalla they don’t need to keep releasing RPG games, so hopefully that means they get more creative with the type of games they make, with RPG versions coming out every few releases.
That's a Djinn. It will appear in most memory corridors and will eventually start to affect Basim and probably end in Basim.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts as always great video
They got my hopes up but that's also what I'm afraid of, again, I agree with every single thing you've said in this video and if hexe in any way lives up to even only the atmosphere in the teaser, it's going to be at least something interesting.
maybe the ghoul at the end of the mirage trailer could be an animus glitch, like how desmond saw stuff in the real world, but now inside of the animus
@@FlaviusConstantinus306
nope, they want the endless subscription service model, because they could potentially make more money if enough time goes by.
this is what "games as a service" is, it's literally the same thing what Microsoft were trying to do with stadia, although i don't know how they will accomplish it if they choose to use the same method.
maybe they will lock the user in a contract for up to 5 years or something.
the good news is, that there will be no more microtransactions, because they will be replaced with endless subscription fee as a service to play the game.
@@5226-p1e Microsoft didn't make Stadia; Did you do even basic research?
2:10 Exactly. It's the same assets as Valhalla. Don't expect a radical change. A part of me still wishes they used Unity assets for this.
I am honestly really excited for Hexe, I have a theory/prediction of what the story will be about
So we know that Mirage is sort of (hopefully) going to be more of a classic ac experience.
All we know about ac Hexe right now is that it will take place during the roman witch trials in Germany
With the very limited info we have, and from the short teaser we got, I think that to some extent in the teaser where we see the assassin insignia hanging from a tree, I think it could symbolically be showing the hanging of the creed, and that the story will be assassin focused, where we play as an assassin at a period where we use some piece of eden, which in turn makes people believe the assassins are using witchcraft and want the creed charged to trial and hanged.
You are the main story character.”
This feels like PR-Speak for "Well, the MD was pretty divisive so we've cordoned it off from everything and it will no longer be a part of these experiences".
Not liking the sound of it overall
hex i will be same as mirage that is what i know . if mirage bring something good then hex definitely will.
Personally I found the idea of Hexe much more intriguing than a game set in Japan, as great as that has the potential to be. Didn’t know there was such a promising team working on it, that’s awesome to hear. AC always has a way of getting me interested but these days I’m trying to stay cautiously optimistic
I hope they make our Assassin protagonist a shinobi rather than a samurai
@@unicorntomboy9736 Here's the thing: They can be both. Historically speaking, some Samurai were actually hired as Shinobi, and it all comes down to one loophole: Samurai was a social class, but Shinobi was an occupation; A job, essentially. Something you get paid to do.
Anyone more excited about Hexe than Red(Japan) . I mean, it's coming from Montreal plus the creative director is the guy from Splinter Cell: Chaos theory.
That ghoul was apparently a Djinn, according to some interview with some of the people working on the game, saw it on ACvideos
Maybe Hexe could take cues from Resident Evil
I didn’t know they were making a mobile version 😦😦
Mirage - I guess Ubi are testing the old formula to see if it sells well. If it’s really an old school AC, then shut up and take my money
Hexe - the setting is weird, but fits perfectly.
I heard that AC Red shall be supported for five years after release...
0:47 I straight up thought the same thing. I was all for this new AC game. It looked like AC (which hadn't been seen in a while) then those last 2 seconds I was just like "FOR FUCK'S SAKE, UBISOFT!"
8:24
Interesting. Hope they show just how controversial those trials were even at the time.
I would have liked hexe to be a bigger mirage type experience not an open world.
I hope to see more Isu szenes in the last chapter's anomalies
They did some. Interviews and yes
They r going unity style they said
AC Valhalla - RPG
AC mirage - back to basics
Project red - RPG again
I'm seeing a pattern here. Maybe they've come to a conclusion to release games alternately. From RPG to back to basics and rinse and repeat
If I am right, the other game codenamed hexe will be all about stealth assassinations once more
"keep ur expectations low, and you wont be dissapointed"
I've seen some people bring up its shorter length as a point of concern, which is upsetting. You can bang out most of the old ACs in ~10 hours. 15-20 is a great length. Anything over 50 hours makes me feel sick. Fair play for making Eivor's final chapter free. I'll probably check it out.
There is 0 hope for project Red. Its just gonna be another odyssey. I'm ignoring it.
Hexe is to be determined.
Bro, I noticed the mic audio is louder on the left side of the headset and there's nothing wrong with my headset, please center the mic audio, thanks
I will definitly buy the collectors edition
Completely reasonable. Marketing is leaning HARD into classic AC nostalgia. The use of “Ezio’s Family” at the end of the trailer was shameless lmao
@@WalshieYT1 it really was. I was enjoying the trailer until ezio's family played. But hey nothing is true, maybe my gut feeling is wrong.
5:45. Disneyfication... Man! I've been saying that forever. Thanks for saying that.
Interested as to why mirage is half the price of a AAA game, assuming it’s going to be much smaller
Will these games have the current 2 year games cycle? I wonder
we need modern day back but in good and thats pretty hard because there are so many different devs around the world with other ideas.
7:15
I'd be fine with RPG style games as long as I still get my main-line stealth action games too.
I feel you put all my feelings into words really well
We can only hope, but its hard to hope seeing what games we've got over the years
Mixed feelings on Mirage, I hope it does bring in those core elements of a creed game we want. Your feelings on it in your last video was perfectly said
Jade looks boring, I can't lie.
We have been burned as you put it
Hard agree that Hexe looks promising. I really hope Hexe pulls through on that
I agree, I won't actively wish bad on these games.
I want to be optimistic but I’ve been burned before
The story died with Desmond, I only play the AC games for the gameplay and setting now so I’m fine with the Japanese one and Jade. I probably won’t play Jade but I’ll still play the new ones just for setting and gameplay alone so I’m not burned again
i hope they make both the traditional AC's and the RPG's as i enjoy both. Even though the RPGs are worse games i still have fun with them.
I think the ninja one had me hype....
what is the song at the very beginning
Hexe could be a Soulslike
i am so fucking sad that they are making the assassins creed game set in japan not a assassins creed game and its just going to be a shinobi experiance like wtf man the most wanted setting for a AC game and they are making it a rpg game like holy fuck man 🙄
Don’t do it, don’t you do it. Don’t let it get your hooks into you
never going to pre order ANY game because of ubisoft. but dam they did a good job at making me excited
The only thing that Ubisoft it's still good at, is the Assassin's Creed robes
Even then the last 2 games didn't have them
The real question is will they go back to stealth.
