I think the same thing goes with Jinyoung, especially in this particular interview with the fact that he’s still improving his English and he’s obviously not too confident in his skills. And obviously when you’re in an unfamiliar environment or around unfamiliar people, you’re going to worry more about how you present yourself so that you won’t give off a bad impression. I don’t think he means to come off as rude at all, I’m sure he’s just shy with people he’s not familiar with.

This interview is about GOT7 and GOT7’s accomplishments and journey, their story. Who cares about what other Kpop acts are doing/have done/will do. I am 100% American and even I feel uncomfortable when these interviewers mention other kpop groups, not only to Got7 but they’ve done it to many other groups like NCT127 and Monsta X, etc. Very wise words from Jackson, he isn’t envious of others success, he’s just worried about his own success and got7’s. I must say that I love how Jinyoung is so confident in speaking English. He knows that it might not be perfect but he takes every opportunity he gets to speak and that's the process of learning. I'm sure he'll be fluent in no time
What I also like is, that he takes his time while speaking english. Of course one is nervous when one can't remember a word, but instead of stumbling on that he keeps his calm and because of that he remembers the word the wants to say most of the time. If one is too nervous about it, the word will not come up at all.

They're not used to it in the Kpop industry, but in US, and even more in Europe, the topics of music groups interviews is actually... music ! It's not about being a clown or a pretty doll. If you want that, go to the circus !! You think they are joyful loud goofballs all the time ? Wake up, it is a role they were trained to play by their company. In reality, they are early 20s hard working artists with almost no personal life. After five years, they are just starting to express themselves artistically. Bam says in reality he's just a chill guy, and YJ speaks about his dark sides. Jinyoung says they would be better if they'd worked less hard and took some rest sometimes. And Mark says how Jinyoung speaks for all of them in his song. Bravo and thank you to the interviewer for showing some real interest in them and allow us to understand them better. I'm going to listen to their songs again with what they said in mind.
uh while i do agree that they are uncomfortable with the new kind of questions, i believe they are just exhausted. the entire time, mark was the only one who made a joke. also, i think when they're being fun they genuinely are happy in the moment. of course they all have such difficult lives, but they're humans with fluctuating emotions. you should calm down, you sound really passive aggressive.
They have multiple sides to themselves like the majority of the world. They're actually naturally loud and goofy, that can't be faked otherwise it would be obvious. I do agree they aren't like that all the time and they do have a serious side. They've expressed wanting to mature more in order to talk about their music which is amazing too. I admire that jinyoung takes any opportunity given to him to speak in english I know a lot of people who may be really good in a language and understand it really well but because they're afraid of making mistakes fall back into their comfort zone and rely on translators which isn't bad at all everyone should do what they feel most comfortable doing but I admire jinyoung constantly seizing the chance to show off his english because that really is the only way you get better. I love his confidence and he's just a really good speaker in every language

I loved the interview. You can really see that the reporter is interested and thought out really good questions. I noticed a lot of other interviewers talk about what are their hobbies are, what they're doing for touristy stuff while they're there and something silly or random (which is good and entertaining). But not much about their music, or what they working on.
This is the best interview I saw so far with the boys. They so calm, and talking so passionate. I could listening Bambam speaking inglish for hours, and Jinyoung? Omg, even his inglish is hot. I loved this ❤
Seeing Jinyoung speak so well in English reminds me of the time when Bambam wasn't one of "the" English speakers of the group but always tried to learn and improve himself every chance he got. I feel like Jinyoung and JB (and eventually the other members too ) will become moderately fluent in the language in no time

If you truly think about it, OP isn't saying GOT7's happy side is a company image they made them to fake, it's saying even though it's them, but they are only allowed to show this side of them because that's how Korea entertainment industry works. I really agree with OP - thank you Billboard for finally letting the boys to JUST talk about music and music only without thinking how to be "entertaining" in an interview.

For people who said this is the calmest got7 - they are not just crackheads, they put a lot of thoughts and hard work to making music and this is almost the only platform where they don't need to "perform" but can simply talk about music. I have never appreciated more of an actual music interviews that let them so sincerely talk and review each other's work without trying to "perform" for the audience. Just, enjoy this can we?

I loved the calm tone of this interview. It shows another side of GOT7 that we aren't really used to seeing but shows how real they are, and how much they appreciate each other. Great one!
I admire that jinyoung takes any opportunity given to him to speak in english I know a lot of people who may be really good in a language and understand it really well but because they're afraid of making mistakes fall back into their comfort zone and rely on translators which isn't bad at all everyone should do what they feel most comfortable doing but I admire jinyoung constantly seizing the chance to show off his english because that really is the only way you get better. I love his confidence and he's just a really good speaker in every language

I loved the interview. You can really see that the reporter is interested and thought out really good questions. I noticed a lot of other interviewers talk about what are their hobbies are, what they're doing for touristy stuff while they're there and something silly or random (which is good and entertaining). But not much about their music, or what they working on.

This is the best interview I saw so far with the boys. They so calm, and talking so passionate. I could listening Bambam speaking inglish for hours, and Jinyoung? Omg, even his inglish is hot. I loved this ❤
Seeing Jinyoung speak so well in English reminds me of the time when Bambam wasn't one of "the" English speakers of the group but always tried to learn and improve himself every chance he got. I feel like Jinyoung and JB (and eventually the other members too ) will become moderately fluent in the language in no time
