This was said two years ago and even if this was said 400 years ago, this statement will still hold true. UST WILL NOT OFFER MONEY (OR ANY UNIMPORTANT THINGS) TO ATHLETES. They play for the name; not for money or fame.

yes, we are very certain they UST don't offer any amount of money, car, cellphones, condo units or anything like those for their players. Athletes are recruited not bought. They can play as long as they want but unfortunately, they can also go out of UST's vicinity freely. The only offer UST can give is its traiditional quality education. Utaiwan, the Thai import on SVL, is the very first UST had.
actually po kahit sinong player po hindi po ino-offer-an ng UST. the very best offer UST can give is scholarship. walang offer na condo, cellphone or car. sports need not money; sports is all about talent kaya UST, as of this moment, will never offer such luxurious things to its players. players can play for the school as long as they want but they are not expecting any "stuff" in return.
Ateneo did not offer car and condo to Alyssa, only full scholarship. During Kris Aquino’s interview with the ADMU ladies, they told her, they only live in the campus dormitory without a/c. They were given minimal allowance only. While DLSU, stayed in condo complete with facilities

i agree po on allysa valdez pero si dindin eh sobrang umiyak po nung last game niya with UST. that was vleague championship. dindin was on a one way situation back there and that is to transfer because her parents want her so. :)

hi, i know that dindin has financial problems back then and it was heart-breaking when she cried on her last game for UST on SVL. But i didn't know about Allysa's story po. Did she want to play for UST? If so, why did she transferred to ADMU po? I will be very happy if i will hear the story. thanks.
Ateneo is her dream school and she wants to take AB Psychology in which I think sa UST ay BS Pysch ang ino-offer nila.
dream school n'ya po ang ADMU, fajardo and valdez agreed to take an exam for both DLSU and ADMU but part ways for certain reasons. Na-scout na din s'ya ni Coach Roger and niligawan na din talaga pati family n'ya just to enroll in ADMU and be part of their team.
This might be a late reply but for the record, Ateneo is Alyssa’s dream school. Coach Roger hardly convinced her parents to play for ADMU and promised
them to make Alyssa the center player of Ateneo not
Knowbe that she’d be the center of Phil volleyball. I watched coach Roger interview and he was teary eyed of what Alyssa is now today… And again, Ateneo only offered her full scholarship, no car involved.

She now holds the record of 43 Individual Awards.
Jaja comes in second with 25, Nang Aiza with 18, Jia with 17 & Kim F with 16.

She was clearly poached by Roger Gorayeb, dahil alam ni Gorayeb na walang pag asa yang ADMU WVT kung di nya kukunin ang TOP recruit during that time. Imagine if Aly stayed in UST? 4 years sigurong UST ang nasa Finals..

Fr. Ermito de Sagon, O.P., athletics director and a member of the UAAP board, said UST would not play into the idea of signing up top athletes primarily with hefty monetary packages.
“There is no way [to prevent athletes from transferring] if the players are offered something much higher than what is offered here [in UST],” he said.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea to just compete in terms of money because the moment we do that, people will end up playing…just for money.”
