  • Haven Hill Lake was created in the late 1920's on the land occupied by Edsel and Eleanor Ford at their Haven Hill Estate. The 69-acre lake is now within the Highland State Recreation Area in Highland/White Lake Townships, Michigan. Portions are bounded by the Haven Hill National Natural Landmark area. The beautiful lake is populated mostly with small panfish among other aquatic species and is also a migratory stop for many waterfowl species each year. Surrounded by rolling glacial hills, the lakes’ forested shores become painted with dazzling Fall colors every October into November.
The Friends of Highland Recreation Area are a non-profit 501c3 organization in Highland, Michigan. FOHRA is a growing group of Michigan residents, business owners and organizations, joining forces to support Highland State Recreation Area and to rejuvenate the historic former Haven Hill Estate of Edsel and Eleanor Ford for everyone to learn from and enjoy.
