This song from this concert made me a Metallica fan years ago, i still get that first awesome feeling!! This version is holy too me, the guitars sounds good and all about! Thank you goodnight!
I was there for this and spent the whole day lurking my way to the front for Metallica and will never forget being there. I am getting ready to see them for the 6th time in Toronto this October
my favorite band is the beatles, i love classic rock, but in my humble opinion, THIS SONG, is by far the best ROCK AND ROLL song of all time. it has it all. incredible guitar solos, drums that anyone would be envious of, andthe lyrics, so human, universal, who has not been affected by war? a powerful and perfect song.
They finally put it in a game(was about time)! I played this "one" a lot also! The songs in the final list are the best, the Dragonforce at the end really close a great game! ^^
everyone stop hating, how the fuck can you dis a legendary band? they've accomplished too much and way more than any hater ever will plus everyone who performed at woodstock cemented there legacy what a fucking crazy concert!
@ptschafer The quality of performance was much higher during 99 than post-Death Magnetic. Furthermore, they dont tune down live because it sounds heavier or more modern, they do it for James' voice, which has never been the same since he blew it out in 92.
@stevestoner13 True... they try to play much of their live stuff now in E flat, or other variations to make it blend in and sound more modern or "heavier"... I personally don't like the tuning shift, but I will admit that this performance is one of their better ones from the late 90's. I will also note that for whatever reason since they released Death Magnetic, the quality of their live performances has gone up quite a bit. Don't know how many years they have left, but looking forward to them!
nahhhh 1989 seattle is the best performance of one. this is really good, and shows that metallica was still badass in the late 90s, but nothing can compare to them in 89.
LOL, I dont think there were that many metal artists at 99, alot of mainstream bands, but im not complaining, it wasnt because of the music , it was because 69 was free music for the masses, 99 was a mega priced marketing ploy that made people pay extra to get a cup of water in 100 degree heat, it was because 99 was intended to be a cash cow, that it ended so badly, but it was still a godly concert from the glimpses i saw on PPV.
Considering they're one of the most influential rock acts EVER, I'd hold my tongue before saying anything negative. Sure, you may not like them, but that it no way means they suck. When you sell millions upon millions of records, and sell out every venue known to man, then talk.
This is the best live band in the history of music. The energy at a metallics show is really something special. If you never saw them I recommend it
one of the best live performances, of any song, by any band, ever
That's AWESOME!!! I'heard this classic song live. It's #1 for me ALWAYS. Wish my funeral would be followed by Metallica - One :P Respect
This song from this concert made me a Metallica fan years ago, i still get that first awesome feeling!! This version is holy too me, the guitars sounds good and all about! Thank you goodnight!
Id just like to take the time to say THANK YOU to bands like this. For they are the reason why the 90's didnt suck...
ANY MUSICIAN would give his life, just to hear The roar of the crowd, at the sound of a chord, riffs or word. METALLICA are legends!
I was there for this and spent the whole day lurking my way to the front for Metallica and will never forget being there. I am getting ready to see them for the 6th time in Toronto this October
I was there and had THE best time of my life!! Best show ever!!!! Some things did suck but the show was fabulous!!!!
my favorite band is the beatles, i love classic rock, but in my humble opinion, THIS SONG, is by far the best ROCK AND ROLL song of all time. it has it all. incredible guitar solos, drums that anyone would be envious of, andthe lyrics, so human, universal, who has not been affected by war? a powerful and perfect song.
now this is a band that deserved playing at a festival with that name
The guitar harmony after the solo is so damn beautiful!
metallica is the greatest band to ever seen in live performances......my personal FAVORITE!!
I've heard this song so many times, you think by now I'd be tired of it, but I'm not probably one of Metallica's best songs I've ever heard.
ONE is really ONE of METALLICA's greatest songs!!!
LONG LIVE METALLICA!!!!!!! \m/
woodstock is amasing. 99 was one of the best. and this is my most favorite metallica song of all time
who has not let me hear the metal of today, Metallica and the sacred metal will always emperador
I was there. In the beer blood and mud. One of the best times of my life.
is it just me, or is it epic when james is plaaying the intro all alone and his hair is blowing...badass.
Metallica at woodstock '99: Definitely my favorite performance ever. How I wish I could've been there.
i remember this LIVE !..1999..such a great year for metal :D
0:01 - 8:04 OMFG AMAZING
They finally put it in a game(was about time)! I played this "one" a lot also! The songs in the final list are the best, the Dragonforce at the end really close a great game! ^^
That was a friggin awesome show. I was there, it was hotter than hell, but Metallica was stellar.

I was there in 1999. Best show ever live!
Man 90's had such badass music. ICP aside I would have killed to be here. Everyone from Metallica to RATM to DMX
i agree. fade to black seattle 89 is unbelievable. james still knew where to put his anger;-)
6:01 Kirk's solo is fucking intense.
Woodstock 99 is the best performance (ive seen on camera) that they've ever done, in my opinion.
OMG One followed up by Fight fire with fire!! Insane 😱😍
and it's simply flawless! Just Awsome
i love metallica
thank you Cliff
this was the best time in my life, sad they will never have another..
I was there....it was awesome!!!!!!!!

Fucking amazing. The vocals are truely the best. Epic.
Best Metallica song....so so epic. What a fucking solo!! Makes me shiver
i get chills when i listen to this! THIS TOO FUCKING AWESOME!
metallioca is great, what a pity they dont offer so many concerts as before but their great, theyre from other planet
awesomeness abounds...with abundance
What about the chili peppers, they're amazing live
this and no leaf clover by far metallicas greatest songs ever created
Anyone else hear Lars accidently (I hope) hit the drum around :58. "whoops!"
Abasolutly Amazing !
James had very specific voice in the 1998-1999 period, especially when he is screaming like 4:15. I think it was the best voice he ever had.
i went to woodstock 1999 to see ice cube, like every black guy, i went but i then fell in love with metallica!!!!
to say that metallica is the sole inspiration for todays metal is preposterous!
this is my favorite Metallica song.
I dont think it would be an offense, i think Cliff would be proud that they kept on going with the band, and honoring him with music :)
everyone stop hating, how the fuck can you dis a legendary band? they've accomplished too much and way more than any hater ever will plus everyone who performed at woodstock cemented there legacy what a fucking crazy concert!
one word: beautifull
astonishing performance
very nice composition.
one of the best songs in the world
@ptschafer

I was only 2 years old when this concert happened. It's not fair :(
Kirk Hammett = Legendary
Hands down best performance of one.
that solo is sick as hell
My face just melted..
I like how Kirk Plays the middle solo in late-90's live versions of this song.
AMAZING.....
nice song ^^
that was quite an amazing solo
this version of the solo is the best shit I ever heard in my life....*_*
most of the guys have switchers off stage. impressive enough singing and playing at the same time let alone doing your own switching as well
why did you guys give him a thumbs down hes saying how great the song is ._.
Beauty incarnate my friends
omg the crowd goes fucking crazy i love it
I regret being 7 when this concert went on, I would have given my life savings to see this concert
dark light rockkers....sound fantastic
Even though i loved RATM at Woodstock.Metallica were the best musicians by far.
That was sweet on what kirik did @ 4:00 man, like idk how to put it but,,, ill say its "UNIQUE" (Y)
i seem to have shit myself from the perfection of this performance
James' mic should be turned up a little bit....awesome video this is
That part is called the Pre-Bridge there is no breakdown unless you call the part after ever chorus the Breakdown when its clean
thought this was pretty funny too....however he still remains as one of the most influential drummers of his time.
it is i think it is the! best ever!
lucky. btw, what a hell of a fast reply!
I wish i can travel through time and be one in this crowd
best one live ever!!
best song ever
wow, this really cements metallica's legacy....
nahhhh 1989 seattle is the best performance of one. this is really good, and shows that metallica was still badass in the late 90s, but nothing can compare to them in 89.
apparently being released in the third quarter of 2008 :D:D dont think theyve released a title yet tho

The Best Song Ever! Admmit´it..
is there anywhere I can get all of woodstock 99 on dvd or something fuckin epic shit rite here
Considering they're one of the most influential rock acts EVER, I'd hold my tongue before saying anything negative. Sure, you may not like them, but that it no way means they suck. When you sell millions upon millions of records, and sell out every venue known to man, then talk.
if you watch closely, you can actually see lars selling out during the song

I was there and I was raining but it was so fucking badass!! morn
This is probably the only Metallica song I prefer to listen to on the album...
