Might be one of my new favorite videos on UA-cam period. Something about the collaborative improvisation, comradery, and clear mastery while good naturedly revisiting the past- please have Dave back!
I love how when Adam mentions the Nightclub (Which Adam said is one of his most embarrassing moments), Dave instantly understands the pain and is empathetic to the story. Its great to see when people show empathy towards others when they have made mistakes instead of belittling them and blowing it off.
I'm stopping halfway through to comment on how much I enjoy the two of you telling stories about your time in the biz, while you work. It is fun and fascinating at the same time. Please do more collabs.
I love everything about this video. Watching you both work, hearing stories about your work at ILM and other places, and everything in between. I hope you can have other veterans from ILM and other places back on for videos like this. We learn so much about the craft and the history of movies from these collaborations!
After watching Tested for many years, this video is EASILY THE BEST one you guys have ever done! This dual model maker - making model videos need to be a series!!!
I really hope they do more projects together. The stories they share from back in the day. Things that they didn't need to fully explain b/c the shared experience. Sharing their successes & mistakes w/ each other as they build. Great stuff.
Just two creative homies kickin it, working on a project together, bringing it to life with good laughs and storytelling. Nothing gets better than this
If I could give this 10X likes I would, this was PHENOMENALLY ENTERTAINING and insightful. The tools, techniques and skills - man, what a great hour spent. Thank you both a million.
These are my favourite kind of videos from Tested. Seeing two veteran model makers working together and just having fun. There are so many great stories that are told during the process, and I just find it so fascinating. It honestly inspires me to keep going as a model maker and make whatever I want. ILM produced some of the best model makers on this planet. Not just from a model making point of view, but from a humanity point of view. The personality, the comradery, the conversations, the jokes, just everything about the individuals and the team. I could genuinely watch hours and hours of this kind of stuff!
31:33 That surprised look when Adam watches the piece of dowel go flying across the shop!! Been there, done that! (Great shot by who ever is running camera!!)
This episode is sooo cool to me. How you all can basically hand shape the forms and also use different materials to create miniatures is blowing my mind.
Adam, i told norm about these nippers. i can highly recommend the Tamiya Fine cutter model NO.123 item number: 74123 Its pricy but worth it and if you pre cut the sprues from the frame with your rough cutter first, the Tamiya will last a lifetime. its an extra step i know, but on the positive side it won't damage your model kit.
This was what I went to school for, but never got to do for life reasons. This was an amazing video. Watching you guys working with such enthusiasm makes me want to bust out my stash of styrene and build. I'd love to see more. I'm looking forward to meeting some ILM icons at Wonderfest next week.
As a lifelong fan of Ray Harryhausen's work this video feels like I'm stepping into an equivalent studio and getting to watch some of the next generation of masters at work. Thank you both and everyone behind the production. 💜
Being a scale modeling hobbist myself, it is an absolute delight to witness this level of craft so casually and expertly practiced by a couple of industry veterans. The creative process of turning a design concept into a three-dimensional model to be held and touched is a wonderful thing to watch and practice.
I need you two to do a UA-cam series together! Watching a collaborative effort between two modeling guys is incredibly entertaining! AND THE STORIES! Dude, you two gotta make something happen. This was like Adam Savage on a whole other level.
Nothing others haven't said before but the mix of... seeing process unfold, master technique, clutch tips, shared gems of personal wisdom, and nuggets of CFX history is precious. By far my fav tested ep. I doubt you can intentionally replicate this magic, but I sure hope you try. Great stuff.
This is amazing content. Make this a series! Adam building with veterans and sharing anecdotes from the industry and sharing wisdom and insights. Great work! 👍🏼
I feel like watching Dead Ringers' twins working on their next tools... Amazing stuff, witnessing two geniuses working side by side in similar fashion. What a treat!
This video is an absolute treasure. Watching two professionals work in sync is truly a thing of beauty. So much appreciation for the clear communication, but also for what is communicated without even speaking it. That being said, I had a bit of a laugh at about the 43:08 mark. To offer full context, I work in a maintenance shop with three other guys on my shift. There is, expectedly, a fair bit of razzing that goes around. For me, they often get after me about my usage of my Knipex wrench pliers, so you can imagine my delight when at the 43 minute mark, I spotted a set sitting next to Adam. So what is a man to do, but immediately share a link to my coworkers with the caption "The Master has spoken." XD
Having followed Dave's channel after seeing the initial video here, i highly recommend it. Whilst it covers some similar content, the editing and filming make it feel like a very different beast altogether. Two of my favourites channels now.
Best bit of Tested content in yonks. These days it seems that the majority is watching him use his tools, where in the early days it was more about his choices and problem solving. The tool use is nice enough, and as he’s said, oddly meditative. But getting a glimpse into his thought processes is the real gold. More of this please! Cheers
Hey Adam Savage! Just wanted to drop by and say how much I appreciate your content on Tested. As a design student, I often find myself stuck behind a desk, stressed out by the essay writing that comes with the territory. But hearing your positivity and wise words in the background while I'm doing my desk research feels like I'm actually making things myself. Your passion and enthusiasm for making inspire me to keep pushing forward. Thank you for being such an inspiration!
This video is great. Two guys that are passionate about what they are doing, enjoying their time, and geeking out over it. Very wholesome, and I watched this with a smile on my face the entire time.
Most likely my favorite video put out in a long time. These guys look so at home here and it's a genuine pleasure to watch them work and chat shop and reminisce
I enjoy the one day builds, but this was a special, special treat to watch the two of you collaborate, relive old wars, and riff off each other. Magical!
PLEASE! More videos like this. It is almost therapeutic to watch. I love to see workshop banter and I see myself in it so much with my colleagues. Just small details like "Come! Feels this transition" or like "Dude, look at this curve!" I LOVE IT!!
What a great time! Interesting, inspiring and just a very feel-good video. I would love to see more like this; Fon Davis immediately comes to mind as a perfect guest for these kinds of one-day-build / trip-down-memory-lane videos.
This might have been one of the more fun videos to watch. It was so interesting watching you work together and also play off of one another with the creative process. Do another one together or with another designer
Dave Fogler at the Cinodrome: youtube.com/@cinodrome
Adam’s side cutters: amzn.to/3C2oSj3
If it hasn't already to be said, you two need a show together... You complement each other really well. It's nice to see.
It’s like watching a concert of two Jazz Giants improvising together. Masterclass stuff. Love the interaction!
it's almost like it's turning into a music channel
Which band member is the skivvy ? Ill play drums! 😂
Coltrane's Greeblie Steps
Yesssss! What an analogy - just perfect - well done Sir!
I NEED MORE
My favorite Tested ever. You should consider doing a series of "model making master class" videos. Simply amazing.
I could not agree more!
So cool to meet a multiversal variant of Adam!
Sincerely, thank you for the video. You are both an absolute delight to hang out with!
Those are the exact words I was looking for "multiversal variant of Adam"!
Lol, I've often had the idea that Kiefer Sutherland could be the Adam Savage variant that drinks or maybe it's the other way around.
Adam Savage from the Direstaverse?
I've been watching Tested since the start and this is my favorite video you guys have ever made. So perfectly right up my alley.
Wow! Thank you!
Thanks Savage! I fully enjoyed that build, the shop, and the company.
Might be one of my new favorite videos on UA-cam period. Something about the collaborative improvisation, comradery, and clear mastery while good naturedly revisiting the past- please have Dave back!
More please... The best Tested episode for many months. 🙂
I love how when Adam mentions the Nightclub (Which Adam said is one of his most embarrassing moments), Dave instantly understands the pain and is empathetic to the story. Its great to see when people show empathy towards others when they have made mistakes instead of belittling them and blowing it off.
What a treat to watch two legendary model makers work together on a star wars piece. I really enjoyed this episode.
I'm stopping halfway through to comment on how much I enjoy the two of you telling stories about your time in the biz, while you work. It is fun and fascinating at the same time. Please do more collabs.

This was a lot of fun to watch. I think the world NEEDS an Adam Model Making with Guests show. I don't know if we DESERVE IT, but we need it.
This was so chill and enjoyable - but my jaw clenched when Adam rubbed his eye while holding an exacto knife.
Please do this again! So much fun to see two masters at work, just riffing and having a great time!
Fantastic one-day build, guys. Adam, more guest builder! Listening to your two share stories was great.
As a veteran miniature painter, I would really love to paint something like this! I really dig those rounded surfaces.
57:16 I would have love see Adam paint and weathering it,
see how he would use the imperfections as battle damage and dirt
More of these tag team builds, please?
Will do!
An episode...with two ILM vets finishing a lost star wars design as they would for a film...holy crap this is pure gold.
Yes PLEASE do that again. Best episode. Cool Modelmaking, good memories, great interaction. 10/10 Thanks
I’d watch this as a tv show!
This is the best video ever. Just so cool. Please more!!!!
Outstanding Video. The harmony between these two modelmakers was remarkable.
it's like watching Adam and his double from another universe!
Adam's garage must be a place of wonder.
Watching two model making legends work together is great. Hearing some of your old stories is even better.
After watching Tested for many years, this video is EASILY THE BEST one you guys have ever done! This dual model maker - making model videos need to be a series!!!
I really liked this one! It's like watching two brothers hang out!
Yes please for a whole series of 'Adam & Dave'.
I absolutely love the "working together without much talk", when you just work well together 😊
fascinating video, even without the model building just the shop talk and reminiscing about ILM is great
I really hope they do more projects together. The stories they share from back in the day. Things that they didn't need to fully explain b/c the shared experience. Sharing their successes & mistakes w/ each other as they build. Great stuff.
Just two creative homies kickin it, working on a project together, bringing it to life with good laughs and storytelling. Nothing gets better than this
Great to finally see the other side of this build from Tested. You guys were clearly having a ball and all the ILM memories were fun to hear.
If I could give this 10X likes I would, this was PHENOMENALLY ENTERTAINING and insightful. The tools, techniques and skills - man, what a great hour spent. Thank you both a million.
Please, oh please make this a recurring theme. I could watch these two gentlemen all day long
I agree with what others have said: This might be the best Tested video ever. What a joy!
This should be alternate edited as a nature documentary.
“And here we see the maker, in their natural state”.

This is one the most enjoyable videos I've seen of Adam... In his element, chatting up a friend while working... awesome!! Thank you!! ❤
This is like watching ILM footage... great video!!! Do more with you both!!!
This was a PURE JOY to see and hear. Great things happening, real time, and great stories from the past. BRAVO gents, more of this, please 🙂
31:33 That surprised look when Adam watches the piece of dowel go flying across the shop!!
Been there, done that!
(Great shot by who ever is running camera!!)
The best episode of Tested in all of Tested history! Thank you!!......and MORE PLEASE!
This episode is sooo cool to me. How you all can basically hand shape the forms and also use different materials to create miniatures is blowing my mind.

its an extra step i know, but on the positive side it won't damage your model kit.
Love the model making videos that have been on this channel lately. I could watch 8 hours of this.
This was what I went to school for, but never got to do for life reasons. This was an amazing video. Watching you guys working with such enthusiasm makes me want to bust out my stash of styrene and build. I'd love to see more. I'm looking forward to meeting some ILM icons at Wonderfest next week.
This is like a class in old school model making with inside the industry insight. I really enjoyed this video.
Great to see Adam working alongside a peer and reminiscing together. The interactions are delightful to witness. Thank you.
I absolutely love this video. It kind of gives me a little glimpse of how it might have been back in their ILM days.
As a lifelong fan of Ray Harryhausen's work this video feels like I'm stepping into an equivalent studio and getting to watch some of the next generation of masters at work. Thank you both and everyone behind the production. 💜

I've been considering taking up prop building as a hobby or even a career, and the more of these videos I watch, the more I want to.
So cool seeing two creative brains working together.
I'm in love with the shot at 35:41 it feels planned!
I need you two to do a UA-cam series together! Watching a collaborative effort between two modeling guys is incredibly entertaining! AND THE STORIES!
Dude, you two gotta make something happen. This was like Adam Savage on a whole other level.
This was an absolute treat, I hope we get a part two!! and more hard surface modeling things, so satisfying!
I am consistently bewildered by the amount of equipment and supplies Adam has. An absolute wonderland for prop makers.
Yes. But no spraybooth.
absolute delight to watch 2 accomplished makers enjoying themselves so much
Nothing others haven't said before but the mix of... seeing process unfold, master technique, clutch tips, shared gems of personal wisdom, and nuggets of CFX history is precious. By far my fav tested ep. I doubt you can intentionally replicate this magic, but I sure hope you try. Great stuff.
I'd love to see you guys tackle something like a Star Wars fuel truck, or delivery truck... something very industrial working class.
Watching the masters at work in their playground… such a treat
This is amazing content. Make this a series! Adam building with veterans and sharing anecdotes from the industry and sharing wisdom and insights. Great work! 👍🏼
I feel like watching Dead Ringers' twins working on their next tools... Amazing stuff, witnessing two geniuses working side by side in similar fashion. What a treat!
This was so much fun to watch!
THIIIIS IS THE BEST EPISODESS EVER ON UA-cam IM CRYINGG!!!!!!
I could listen to these kinds of conversations all day!!
What a pleasure to hear these 2 legends interact as selfless peers! Huge Brains - like Planet Size. Global Treasures!
It takes a mix of confidence and humility to tell somebody, "This is my idea go make it better."
Wow! Best table I've ever witnessed on UA-cam. If magazines were still a thing it belongs on the cover

That jumped up near the top of the best videos Tested has produced!
For me this one video, giving a great insight into the process is worth the membership fee alone 😊
Having followed Dave's channel after seeing the initial video here, i highly recommend it. Whilst it covers some similar content, the editing and filming make it feel like a very different beast altogether. Two of my favourites channels now.
Is has been a really interesting one-day build, loving the stories told as you were both building. Thanks Tested team.
Thank you for the kind comment -- we really appreciate it, and are glad you enjoyed the video!
Best bit of Tested content in yonks.

I’ve loved all of the scratch build videos but this was by far my favorite. I’d love to see more of these.
Best ever! So much truth in converting flat 2D into a 3D sculpture. I laughed so much, and nodded in agreement as the build progressed. Fun!
Adam has the greatest mind ive ever seen. If i had the workshop and schooling i would be set for life

I had been saving this to watch two masters relate to each other, and was not disappointed.
I enjoy the one day builds, but this was a special, special treat to watch the two of you collaborate, relive old wars, and riff off each other. Magical!
Absolutely loved this! Please, please do this again. The video was the perfect length of time. You both were simply excellent.❤❤
Gosh~ listening to them talk about Star Wars prequels work is so good.
As some one who grew up with the prequel movies, my love is immense.
PLEASE! More videos like this. It is almost therapeutic to watch. I love to see workshop banter and I see myself in it so much with my colleagues. Just small details like "Come! Feels this transition" or like "Dude, look at this curve!" I LOVE IT!!
Fascinating to see you working together - you have your own language which is full of grunts, clicks, whistles and part words /sentences!!
One of my favorites! Good friends with mutual respect making amazing stuff. Wish I had more of that in my life. Thank you.
wonderful to see two 'brothers in crafts' working together
This was fun. Old stories, multiple procresses, concept through to model. Really enjoyed this.
This is my favorite Tested video I’ve ever seen! It was just awesome to see you guys work!
Amazing watching two professionals working together.
Always a joy to see the pros demonstrate their craft. The model looks like it'd make a great garage kit if you guys ever felt like pursuing that.
I love what you do you guys! You drive me to do this. I love being a maker I’m scared to fail. Yet without failure never comes success! ❤😊
Videos like this are why I'm subscribed! This was a blast!
It was a joy to listen to the stories and mishaps as you worked. Thanks for sharing them
What a great time! Interesting, inspiring and just a very feel-good video. I would love to see more like this; Fon Davis immediately comes to mind as a perfect guest for these kinds of one-day-build / trip-down-memory-lane videos.
