Submerged Trailer 2015

A Multi-disciplinary dance work made for Vena Cava's Fresh Blood Festival in 2015 consisting of a short film and an accompanying live dance element. All choreography and video was created and performed by Nadia Milford and Felix Palmerson, BFA (Dance Performance) 2nd year students at QUT.

One's time in the shower is often over-looked yet the enclosed space has the capacity to isolate us from the outside world, strip us bare, expose us to ourselves as all the demands of our busy lives are muffled by steam.
'Submerged' provides a glimpse into the deepest part of the human mind and the many varied and individual responses to what can be found there. At such depths, the outside world has no influence. The only thoughts that exist there are those we create and dwell on when we are completely alone.
For some, this exploration can become an ultimate source of creativity - an office of epiphany - where one is finally free to explore the complexity of their own ideas without distraction or contamination from external figures and pressures.
For others it is full of thoughts best left untouched, an inescapable place of self-judgement, insecurity and overwhelming fear.
