Hey guys welcome back to Hydroneer and today we're talking about a 15 tips all players need to know in Hydroneer.
Don't worry we have plenty more guides planned.
Hydroneer is a mining sim with base building and factory building elements (Hence why it's so good! - and no I'm not being paid to say that)
It has an adorable artstyle, some hilarious bugs and is all about getting rich with that shiny metal we all know about! That being said if you get bored, build a house and decorate or why not go fishing!

Just a heads up, for future tips. When u are manually digging it's not only about how far down u dig to get better payout. But how far down your character is in the dirt as well. If u dig from the top it wont be as big of a payout vs if ur at the bottom of hole and digging the same dirt. So it's how far down u dig and how far down ur character is when u dig that gives u the best payout.

I was able to make an automated sorter where you can just dump out the pan. I have a funnel in the center and then used the thatch roofing to extend the funnel out. Lastly, I encased the whole thing and put a door on it. When you empty your pan it will explode like normal, but most of the stuff will actually make it down the funnel requiring very little cleanup.
Nice, but if it's automated, why not replace the pan with a crucible? that way you won't need to empty it out again?
@@TotalXclipse Sorry I explained that badly, sorting part is automated. It's so I can do manual panning at a lower level then dump it in the sorter. The sorter then puts the gold and iron in their respective crucibles and then the power shards and gems in their respective pans.

Seems that using more intake water pipes makes pressure higher. Cause my goliaths worked way faster with multiple intake pipes. But I'm not sure.

Did you know so long as you are standing at the lowest level of your claim you will get the maximum amount of ores, even if the dirt you are digging is above you near the surface? Where you are standing when you dig is more important than where you are digging.
I do now, but wasn't aware at the time of the video
you can place anything in any container! (for instance all your created items)
1) park your truck near you (you need the back of the truck for this)
2 (for collecting items and carying it all at once >>) drop a pan in the back of the truck (for collecting created items i.e. rings, huge necklaces and even maxed out swords/daggers/axes!)
2 (for smelting ores or bars >>) drop a crucible in the back of the truck (to smelt all the same ores and bars (Its does not matter the size!!!! =D ))
3) drop items/bars/ores/crystals in the container while in a mid air jump (so let it fall from a small height
what happens: everything in the back of the truck loses its hitbox. so everthing can fall while not colliding with other items (exept the truck itself..)
So, when you do drop an items from a height, they fall thru the pan/crucible and hit the floor of the truck. at this moment, it will stick with the hitbox of the container (pan/crucible).
so, when your done collecting; grab the pan/crucible and everything thats dropped "within" the container, will stick with it, without bugging of flipping out.
you'll notice that it becomes a small group. everything looks to be inside the crucible while still sticking out the side of the container.
TIP: this also works to get huge bars into a crucible to make 2 huge bars into 1 even larger one!
you can meassure the weight of both bars before smelting and afterwards and youll notice that it actually works!
PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO-NOT-MIX-RESOURCES WHILE THIS TRICK!! its sensitive to mixed up resource and you can loose valuable stuff! BE CAREFULL! KEEP RESOURCES APART!
Try this bug on smaller resources first before amping up the size, to get a feel of the glitch.

Can you smelt all bars? because the largest of my bars were refusing to melt down :s

@@TotalXclipse you can smelt them. But you need to drop them into the crucible, while the crucible is in the back of the truck. The bar will drop thru the crucible but it wil be inside the crucible if you pick it up after that. You will see that the bar is 50% sticking out the side of thw crucible (if you try to melt the largest bar)
@@qlimax1990 You can drop the largest bars in the crucibal without the truck, It's just I've never been able to melt the largest bars in a crucibal, only the smaller ones.
Early game fill bucket, empty out on ground, repeat, now combine the two clumps into one and THEN wash. You will have to use the free place mode to put into wash pan.
why wash then? That sounds like a slower system than dropping a clump into the pan then washing if you want extra dirt just add an extra bucket to stop you faffing about with the dirt
@@TotalXclipse It's an early game tip. when you don't have pipes. and you don't need to make two runs to get water.

Hmh. Good idea with those crucibles.
I would add one.
Instead of filling up buckets and then pouring them into pan, buy alot of pans instead. Pan can be filled with just one shovel instead of buckets two, but you'll lose time handling bucket.
You can place place pans into river(autofill), or make piping that drops water into each pan(best placed on wooden box for easier aligning). Then fill all pans with single shovel, grab your brush and refine all pans at once, then grab shovel again and repeat. Its way faster than filling up buckets, brush, bucket, brush, bucket and so on. Moving items around constantly and switching tools cost you time.
Add a pressure tank directly into the drills and harvester for 100% efficiency as just one pipe away will drop it to 99%. I usually put three PT's then split off into two runs, one with four filters for clean water to run the harvesters and drills the second run for conveyor system. Then I add the PT's into my harvesters and drills (just as long as you don"t have more than 25 pipes from the 3 PT's). Also water pressure will never drop below 1% so you can have a pump and 100+ pipes THEN add 4 PT's to get back to 100% pressure.
I run a pretty similar system, But I didn't know you could just add the 4 pressure thanks at the end to lift it to 100% A nice little tip there!
I buy multiple containers and separate the stuff it saves alot time
due to changes in the game, some of these are mute, like tipping from pan to crucible - this work rather well. some stuff still spills but placement and aiming helps alot
an easier way to load the truck is just to stand at the back, not on the truck just close, jump, and release at the height of your jump. Its much faster.
You're right but if you have big items like foundations, or the conveyors from that angle they can still fly off.
@@TotalXclipse You just need to make sure that none of item models intersects with a vehicle. For me jumping works fine and it's much faster.
do you have to empty the resources out of big buckets each time you pan them? or can you leave resources in and pan until its full?
I leave them in the pan generally speaking

Nope... I just bugged into it when I loaded the game
you can use the "Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker" to essentially unlock access to the Unreal Engine console and such.
Do you have a control for opening the map.
I can't remember tbh, it's been a while since I played - I think the only map available at the time was one you had to pay for and look at in your hands
the item loss thing is really annoying I hope they fix it soon
Smelt the power crystals and make them to a bar (edit: I saw that you have very much crystals and that made you game lagging) (sorry for my bad english)
At this point you couldn't press the crystals together, and it was more to do with the bug that dropped the crystals under the floor which couldn't be undone. but they are great tips for new players!
I need a way to get the ore to successfully go into a smelting pot after coming off a splitter... without so much spillage an stuck ore
Increase the water pressure in the conveyor belts?
@@TotalXclipse I know about water pressure .. ive messed with a lot of different things.. I can get gem an iron to go into their pots really well.. but i guess gold just cant.. too much too fast..

Anyone else having issues with any of the items not pouring out correctly? When i go to smelt a bar it wont let me pour.
I just started playing this game and I have noticed that if the nuggets aren't melted yet you can't pour into a mold. There is a sound that happens when the ore is melted.
What are the keys to fish? Right click to throw the rope and after that how can I get the fish out?

Im stuck between rocks with my character and cant get out even when I reboot the game. Need help.

This game is sooo glitchy and getting complicated to know pipe connections etc. I'm now stuck in my truck because I couldn't put the items I bought in the bed of it so I held the item (a ladder) in my hand and jumped in the truck. Well I hit E to drop the item while in the truck as I couldn't get out so i figured I'd then be able to get out nope so now I'm stuck in the darn truck. Going to give up on this game to crazy to get much done. There are NO instructions or diagrams somewhere in the game to give us an idea how things connect. I don't have a clue how to mine in real life lol
How do you filter water?
There's a particular water filter pipe, you use one of them

making a water loop crashes the game, like splitting a pipe and then merge it again

I found a secret thing in the start pace i done a screen shoot Steam name DazzerMM65 my steam icon is a glass of Beer :-)

There are two relics in the first plot both on the same side (not across bridge)

tbh i played this game about 4 hours straight when i downloaded it, but the physics, the vehicles feeling programmed so hard delayed and all those bugs. I know its early access, but items falling trough the ground?? The dev just wanted to put the game asap on early access to get money rolling, the game has big pontential i saw that, but the engine he used for the game is terrible, walking, driving everyhing is so delayed. This game needs an urgenz update, especially for the vehicles when drilling down it gets stuck etc. I know you can reset ur vehicle via the menu, but its overall no fun to play this crappy glitchy game. Sadly i cant refund it anymore.
When did you last play, it’s a single dev working on it in his spare time, so i can’t blame him for wanting to get it out there. I’m pretty sure there’s a big update coming soon to the game ☺️but you are right it can be terribly buggy at times hence why it’s EA

No, I read your whole comment, like We both mentioned the game is in early access it’s bound to have bugs and he is constantly updating the game, hence why I mentioned there are bug updates coming. You’re right in that it does have great promise and I’m sure if you wait it out you’ll enjoy the game again once it’s further along.

To buy items you need to place items on the buying space then put money in the bucket and press buy, that should do it, what's your issue?

Pretty outdated and not representative of the current version of the game, just saying as many tips revealing flaws in the game could represent a big turn-off for potential players

TotalXclipse I dare you to do it, just don’t do anything important. It’s hilariously broken.
Also to make a water cannon, just connect 4 water outputs and connect them all together. Literally shoots water half way across the map.

TotalXclipse it’s pretty hilarious, causes lots of ore to go flying if you wash your pan under it, much like it used to in really early beta
