Hello.. Portland here.. A friend of yours Marc Havran of Oakland stayed by my place on his way to Alaska.. He is now in Australia. I built a solar trailer 170w 29v 5.83a to pull behind my Recumbent E-Azub trike.. I installed a HD mid-drive and a Rohloff to give me range to optimize the watts.. It isn't quite as efficient as your set up.. LOL.. but i'm preparing for a transcontinental trip on the Rails-to-Trails from Coeur d'Alene to Wisconsin.. I have 2 @ 52v19.2ah Tesla 21700 batteries that without the trailer will give me around 200 miles per charge.. The Solar just supplements the range.. I'm thinking fully loaded (tents/bags/food/camp gear) i will be able to get over 100 miles per day as set up. I'm not solely solar. (will be charging at night) it just helps me replace the energy needed to pull the trailer.. LOL I would love to talk with you. Not many in Portland even understand my system..
Hi, that sounds like a great setup you're building! I hope you're planning on doing video for the project! I rode in the 2022 Sun Trip, but I first started in Texas, and rode to SF, then continued up to WA state, across into Montana, and then back to Texas, about a 4000 mile trip. Best wishes on your ride! If you'd like to see some of my ride, look for the 22 states play list on my channel. I'd love to see videos or info on your build!
Extraordinaire !! je regarde les aventures des participants avec admiration et envie. Un jour je vous rejoindrais moi aussi pour relever le défis du sun trip. merci pour le partage
