Thanks for the demo. I saw another UA-cam er say the colored bridge causes noise when running through a stage PA, as the ground is negated by the paint on the bridge.
@gilijustino thanks for you comment. Tbf I haven't had ant issue with any noise or grounding issues. I learnt the hard way once when modding a guitar by spraying my bridge. Took me ages to figure it out.
Thank you for being so straight to the point, glad I came across your channel looking for an honest review of this bass!
I've been debating on getting one of not since I've always wanted a passive Stingray bass and thanks to you I think I will get the sunburst one and change the pickup down the line
Thanks a lot Ben, greetings from Argentina!
Really appreciate the feedback! It is a wonderful bass to play! Would definitely change the pickup though.
Hope you are well :)
Hi. Thanks for the amazing video! I really dig that piano like long, sustaining ring outs of strings on that bass. Almost like having some fine compressor turned on. Does it acoustically, without any amp, also sounds resonant, alive and piano like, like in your video?
Sorry on my bad English.
PS. "Bass " ;-)
You are a legend!!
Even acoustically it is fun to play, sounds good. For the price I'd say grab one!!
Enjoyed your review of the MB4. As a absolute Noob to bass world -
Would you recommend this as a first bass I’m also a left-hander
@andy0245 my friend I love you already! I would recommend this to anyone no matter what skill they are. It's a very affordable but mighty instrument. I am going to be reviewing another "affordable" bass, the brand is called Eastcoast.
Shops normally stock these so you can actually try them. If you need anymore info and whatnot, let me know
@@planet__ben Much appreciated - and I look forward to the East coast review as well. Much love Bro 😎
Thanks for the review. To my ears there was very little, if any difference in the coil settings and would almost certainly not be picked up in a live band setting. The coils being only around half an inch apart would IMHO produce an inaudible difference, especially if played finger style. Do you think a preamp upgrade would make much difference?
Hi,
I honestly am not sure. The stingray has active pickups whereas this does not, so a preamp might do something for it. I'm not a massive fan of this particular pickup as it's too punchy if that makes sense. I've since lowered the pickup and it seems to be giving me a less punchy sound.
I have a MB4 SB of which I changed the electronics in 3-way switch (front, both, back coil), master volume and tone. I like that better than the stock wiring. I don't recommend a series wiring option, too loud and boomy. Ask me how I know that 🤓. For the rest it's a killer bass.
I know who's brain I'm going to be picking then Haha. But that for me is the weaker point, the electronics. I will eventually change mine to the way you have done yours :)
I despise people who play with a pick
Why is that?
How did you end up with a bow in the neck? I hope it wasn't delivered like that? I have one coming next week
Was like it when I opened it. Couldn't play the bass until a good setup was done. Plays like a beauty now, I do recommend lowering the pickup though, I found it to be very bloody punchy
@@planet__ben cool thanks, sounds great
