  • Have you ever been in a situation where all of a sudden guitar refuses to get in tune? No matter what you do, chords still sound badly detuned. Even though the tuner shows green light, ear says the tuning just isn't right. We want to share the coolest tuning tip ever and it is guaranteed not only to help you with tuning but also to save money on strings.
During the last 25 years of intense studio work on countless occasions guitar tuning has caused us headache. Finally we came up with a simple solution that solves the problem when a correctly intonated and fine-tuned guitar refuses to get in tune.
Guitar sounded like it had new strings and the tuning was immediately there.
    -Petri Lindroos / Ensiferum
I warmly recommend this to every guitar and bass player.

...we bumped into a very common problem; getting guitars in tune wasn't happening, until Anssi brought a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and used it to thoroughly clean the strings.
    -Markus Toivonen / Ensiferum
Let's see if isopropyl alcohol makes miracles also on the live show strings.
    -Kai-Pekka Kangasmäki / Stam1na

Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, exactly! Ever since we started cleaning the strings all tuning problems went away. Then again, that definitely isn’t the cure for bad playing or wrong string-pressing technique, but when it comes to getting rid off ”meter shows green yet the ear says awful” situation it is happening on every session 😊

@@Astiastudio yeah but if it's going to extend the life of my strings a little bit then I'm happy ;)

Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy, it definitely should. We’ve had recording sessions where strings are changed after every two songs. When using the coolest tuning tip the need for replacing was reduced to at least half. Please try it out and comment back 😊
