My mother's arms would hold us tight She whispered Lord keep them tonight And so did we sleep sound and safe It must have been my mother's faith Morning would call the sun to rise And open sweetly slumbering eyes She prayed Lord keep them on their way He held us in my mother's faith My mother's faith was wrapped about us Like the softest down of winter And when the raging winds had found us As in her arms we ever stayed At evenin' time dusk o'er the field Reluctant moon and stars revealed She thanked him well as through the day As certain as my mother's faith My mother's faith could move a mountain And was deep as any ocean But to keep safe those gathered round her This was the greatest gift she gave When summer turned and we had grown Her passing called us woeful home I kissed her then as there she lay And now I know my mother's faith And so does she sleep sound and safe It must have been my mother's faith
I am thankful for 2 Christian parents who taught me about the Love of God. My mother has prayed so much for me all along the way for which I am so grateful. I can also remember both of my grandmothers on their knees praying for me by name.
I learned this song many years ago and it reached the depth of my heart. I sang it for a Mother Daughter Banquet in harmony with Cynthia Clawson's recording. It touched hearts. I'm so happy to find it here so I can go back and hear it over and over....which I surely will.
It is the morning of your 75th birthday!! Your Mother had a profound influence in your life. Praise God for your life and the voice you share with all of us. God bless you Cynthia Happy birthday. My love Nancy Huston❤
My mothers faith, yes amen, my mother prayed for me many times, and as my Grandmother did also, I lost my dear mother in 2012, at 92 yrs old, this was a song selection I chose, now shes sleeping sound and safe with Jesus, wrapped in his arms. God bless all the faithful mothers out there who earnestly pray for their children. Prayers to God are always answered, I know my mothers prayers were answered , for God has had his hand upon me throughout my whole life, I wandered far away, at times ,but God brought me back into the fold. Never again to roam , for his eyes are always upon the righteous, and no one can snatch them out of his hand. Thank you Lord for bringing this prodical daughter home, and setting me free, through your presious blood, you have saved me , justified me, redeemed me ,and are sanctifying me ,one day I will be glorified, you will give me a new body,a glorified body in heaven. Until that day, when we meet face to face, I pray that you will show me your will , and the plans you have for me, that gives me hope and a future, to serve you, you are the potter, I am the clay, mold me and shape me, oh Lord, I pray, for I trust in you, and you alone.there is no other God, like you! I am your servant ,and a slave for you Oh Lord my God. May I be used by you, in your service and for your Glory ! Amen
My mother passed away in 1986. I guarantee you that my mother's faith made me into the man I am today. She was one of those women who brightened a room just by walking in, never had a cruel word to say, was always full of confidence, and people just wanted to be around her. She was selfless, living Philippians 2:4 to the fullest. I love you, Mom. Thank you.
Thank you, Bob, for being the Godly man you are. Through your ministry here, you have encouraged me, lifted me to the heights of the Throne of God and helped me rejoice in our Lord. I look forward to meeting you in Heaven and to meeting your Wonderful Mother. 🌹
@@lanak4892 Aw, Lana, that's so sweet. Yes, I consider myself to be a Godly man, and mother is a big part of that. And though she has been in heaven for 34 years now she still is a big part of my faith.
This is so beautiful, my sweet mother is gone now and at the foot of Jesus, how I miss her and my father.. Its Because of my Mother and my Grandmothers prayers and faith in God that I am a spirit filled Christian and love the lord. Oh what her faith and prayers did .This was the song I chose for her funeral, so it breaks my heart, and I cry so, when I hear it. But I know we shall meet again and all of us will have a glorious reunion. Thank you for this most beautiful song. God's Blessings be with you. I love you and miss you my Mother dearest. I had then , and now have, a very beautiful family that I thank God for.
Just an assurance to those who have lost their mother, your mother didn't really die, she's just gone on...a deep sleep or a rest from this weary world. But she's with you all the time ,in sorrow when you cry she cries with you, and in joy she laughs with you. So you need to be strong and keep smiling 😃 everyday because she's always with you... MAY YOU FIND JOY IN LIFE AND GOD BLESS YOU...
LOVE!, LOVE!, LOVE this song!! And her voice is like the angel's chorus in heaven!! TRULY a God given talent....it flows through every fiber of my being....& my heart & soul are TRULY blessed!! Thank you & bless you for sharing your amazing voice & talent!! And just so you know,.... your beautiful & amazing talent has pulled me thru some dark & ominous times & situations....if you only knew.... God bless you & yours, sweet lady! You are awesome!! Amen & Amen....♡♡♡....
At 1.38, who is the young lady behind Kim and Dean Hopper, in between Jeff Easter and Stephen Hill? I'm sure I've seen her somewhere else and it's tying me in knots trying to remember where,,
I sang this at my mother's funeral recently. The song fit the faith of my mom perfectly. We will always miss her.
Yesterday was Mother's day and this beautiful song was on my mind. I'm grateful for my own Mother's faith.
My mother's arms would hold us tight
She whispered Lord keep them tonight
And so did we sleep sound and safe
It must have been my mother's faith
Morning would call the sun to rise
And open sweetly slumbering eyes
She prayed Lord keep them on their way
He held us in my mother's faith
My mother's faith was wrapped about us
Like the softest down of winter
And when the raging winds had found us
As in her arms we ever stayed
At evenin' time dusk o'er the field
Reluctant moon and stars revealed
She thanked him well as through the day
As certain as my mother's faith
My mother's faith could move a mountain
And was deep as any ocean
But to keep safe those gathered round her
This was the greatest gift she gave
When summer turned and we had grown
Her passing called us woeful home
I kissed her then as there she lay
And now I know my mother's faith
And so does she sleep sound and safe
It must have been my mother's faith
Thanks for sharing the words.

Cynthia is an amazing singer with a voice with a tear in it. Last time I heard her live, it sat in audience and just cried as she sang to God.
