This song is even better when you realize he wrote this album, produced this album, did the vocals (except for the ladies singing backup) and played every instrument on this album.A true talented genius this guy was, much like Tom Sholtz from the band Boston. You just don’t see this kind of talent anymore
Thanks for reacting to this song! Aldo Nova is one of the more underrated and underappreciated artists, back then and to this day. This is his debut track from his debut album that came out in 1981-82. It's probably his best-known hit.
BÖC recorded a song with Aldo Nova, “Take Me Away” the opening track of the “Revolution By Night” album. Aldo Nova filmed the track’s music video as well. It was great to have Aldo Nova collaborate with Buck Dharma! The guitar style is pure Nova with the lyrics, keys, and vocals falling easily into the BÖC styling.
We used this song in high school for basketball games. The gym would go dark and the intro would start, and as soon as it cracked, the players would emerge out through a cloud of dry ice, and the crowd would erupt. We had a cool principal. 👍
Haven’t heard this in decades. Always liked this sound. There is a Canadian artist named Kim Mitchell (male) who has been around since the 70’s and I highly recommend listening to his “Might as Well Go for a Soda” or Go for a Soda. You guys will love it.
Aldo’s got MANY great songs. “Ball and Chain”, “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”, “Someday”, “It’s Too Late”, “Under the Gun”, “Heart To Heart”, “Monkey On Your Back”, and “Foolin’ Yourself” are all must hear songs.
Cool reaction. Mama Wilburn may have heard it from MTVs Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory . This song was played during the intro. Thanks for the reaction guys. Take care.
This came out in the early 80's when i was in middle school. Another great song from that time was "Rock and Roll Party In The Streets" from Axe off their "Offering" album. You'll love it. Someone has posted their music video for it.
Loved tjis song and album back in the day. You should react to Zebra "Tell me what you want" and "Who's Behind the Door" from around the same time frame. You'll love both of them
More Aldo Nova tracks to react to: - It's Too Late, Ball and Chain, Fooling Yourself (from self-titled album) -pretty much all of the album "Subject -- Also Nova" The title track from "Blood On the Bricks"
Check out Aldo Nove's under the gun and ball and chain they were on this same album and the Lazer sound you heard at the first of this song fantasy in the video it is a Lazer coming out of his guitar
While I consider Aldo Nova more of a rock band, they do sound metal'ish at times. Fantasy was being played on my local rock/pop station way back in the day, before Quiet Riot and the Metal craze took off. Also listen to Aldo Nova 'Monkey on your Back', it's pretty catchy as well.
He debuted in 1982 and was for the most part a one hit wonder while two years later Bon Jovi came out with a similar style and became a legend. Bon Jovi at one time managed him and helped produce another album but by then Aldo Nova just couldn't get back on top. Aldo Nova is Canadian btw
Think you need to go wayyyyyyy back and listen to Steppenwolf and check out "The Pusher" from 1968, as well as other anti-drug songs they did back then.
Hey Chod & Dee!! Boots with buckles were Dingos. Love your reactions, please dive into some more Frank Marino and Mahagony Rush, maybe Something's Comin Our Way?? ✌️ ☮️ 🇱🇷🎶🎼🎸❤️
I really Dig this song. 👊👍 But there's a song and band that no one has done a reaction to. It's in the Rock genre, a power rock ballad to be specific. The group is LEGS DIAMOND and the song is called "Woman". Amazing vocals, Killer Guitar solo and melody. If don't react to it, please, just watch it on your own. Promise, you and your wife will Totally Dig It!!!😉💯💣💥 Ok y'all be cool - Peace ✌️☮️😎
His first four albums were his biggest. 1. Aldo Nova 2. Subject -- Aldo Nova 3. Twitch (got poor marketing from the label, leading to a big legal battle) 4. Blood On the Bricks (first release under new record label).
Actually it's a flannel shirt over a concert tee, ripped jeans, work boots and a black leather jacket. Don't forget the bandanas and studded/spiked bracelets. This is the only real good "hard" song on this album and at all for that matter except one that came later in the 80's..... Monkey On Your Back: ua-cam.com/video/qs6iMer68co/v-deo.html A much harder song but not quite as epic as Fantasy. It's a typical anti-drug song. Here's the official video for Fantasy: ua-cam.com/video/vPQgfaB3S1c/v-deo.html Peace
She nailed it. Lasers were shooting out of his guitar in the video. Wow!

This song got on the radio in the US because it was in rotation on MTV first.
Thanks for reacting to this song! Aldo Nova is one of the more underrated and underappreciated artists, back then and to this day.
This is his debut track from his debut album that came out in 1981-82. It's probably his best-known hit.
Quite literally the only hit. Aldo Nova is the textbook one hit wonder.
@Chris Bolliger He is not a one hit wonder. Ball and Chain, Hot Love, Foolin Yourself. The first Album was Awesome.
This song was played all the time at the dance clubs! It was so fun to dance to this song!
You want a spacey song. try out; Billy Thorpe, Children of the sun ( P.S. Great headphone song? )
Children of the Sun is similar and would be the only good back-to-back song for this one. Great call man!

It was great to have Aldo Nova collaborate with Buck Dharma! The guitar style is pure Nova with the lyrics, keys, and vocals falling easily into the BÖC styling.
He wrote grammy songs for Celine Dion , he played on Bon Jovi 1st album. But the video of fantasy is as great as the song.
Aldo also wrote the riff for Jon Bon Jovi’s song “Blaze Of Glory”. There would have been no Bon Jovi without Aldo Novi.
Don’t forget his leopard print outfit. Meow ❤️😂
I love this song. The video is great too! Great Reaction. He was a top producer too. PURE 1982 was so fun. Heck the whole decade!!!
Simply one of the baddest-ass tunes ever...! Thank you for reacting to it...
We used this song in high school for basketball games.
The gym would go dark and the intro would start, and as soon as it cracked, the players would emerge out through a cloud of dry ice, and the crowd would erupt.
We had a cool principal. 👍
One of my all time favorite songs. I mainly remember this being played at school dances in 1982. Where we did have lasers.
Haven’t heard this in decades. Always liked this sound. There is a Canadian artist named Kim Mitchell (male) who has been around since the 70’s and I highly recommend listening to his “Might as Well Go for a Soda” or Go for a Soda. You guys will love it.

I can suddenly feel myself back at the 80s video arcade, with this song blasting in the background.
His "Ball & Chain" is great.
One of the true 1980's rock anthems. A classic.
As a drummer i hope you can appreciate the drums on this one, nasty kick drum line
Another fine Canadian guitarist out of Montreal. Great song.
Cool reaction. Mama Wilburn may have heard it from MTVs Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory . This song was played during the intro. Thanks for the reaction guys. Take care.
Great reaction to a great song and d looks beautiful in this one
This came out in the early 80's when i was in middle school. Another great song from that time was "Rock and Roll Party In The Streets" from Axe off their "Offering" album. You'll love it. Someone has posted their music video for it.
The video for this was huge on MTV.
80’s….lots of one hit wonders and crazy videos.❤️🎥❤️
You should see the video. Lasers from the guitar. Nailed it!
WOW, she is stunning.
OMG, she is a witch, she has seen the past and saw the video, ha. Your girl nailed the call dude, EPIC!
I was in high school when this came out and you can believe me and my friends would crank it up when it came on the radio!
We were so lucky! I was born in 1970 so my childhood was the absolute best! This song reminds me of Friday nights at the skating rink!
Graduated in 89, growing up in the 80's was the best.
Loved tjis song and album back in the day.
You should react to Zebra "Tell me what you want" and "Who's Behind the Door" from around the same time frame. You'll love both of them
YES!! good stuff Steve
Love the reaction! Had this album back in the day, along with my string-less guitar, which I would rip while listening to this song. LOL
The video for this song actually has him shooting a laser from his guitar
I feel like he did indeed defeat the aliens with that guitar solo.
Great reaction to a lost song from the early 80’s. Thanks for doing this one!
SRC-Stevie Ray Chod…need to see it this Halloween!
the entire album was dubbed with aldo nova playing every instrument except the drums if i remember right.
Classic Canadian Rock !
A good Canadian artist who also worked with other famous artist. Bon Jovi being one of them. Good reaction!
The beginning of this always makes me think of The Terminator and the battles from the future.
It was a great time, arcades and big fatty's lol, miss the old days. The 80s were a great time for rock and roll!
Huh. I remember when this came out. I was a freshman in high school back in 1982. Wow. I’m getting old. Lol.
...love the Paul with Explorer headstock...rare piece
Should have done the video version. Watching them play on stage is the best part.
She wanted to cut loose and get down dancing but was holding back😂I can tell😇🤘🖖✌️great reaction and analysis as always🎸🎹🥁🎤
Yes, there is an official video!
Yes Chod there is a video. Check it out. Take care and God Bless you 2.
More Aldo Nova tracks to react to:
- It's Too Late, Ball and Chain, Fooling Yourself (from self-titled album)
-pretty much all of the album "Subject -- Also Nova"
The title track from "Blood On the Bricks"
Official video is epic
If you watch the video, there actually are lasers shooting out of his guitar, lol she nailed it.
Check out Aldo Nove's under the gun and ball and chain they were on this same album and the Lazer sound you heard at the first of this song fantasy in the video it is a Lazer coming out of his guitar
I love This!
You know the scene from Stranger Things 4 when everyone is rockin' at the roller rink? Put this behind it and that pretty much sums up my childhood 😁
Aldo is not BAND ...He is one man .He did the album by himself ..Look how many video he did even now he is 65 years old
"Monkey On Your Back" is really good also. Lasers in the beginning of video :)
Your right ! I meant to say his and that time period. But yes...
Nice. I was 8 when this came out, but I remember because my uncles band played this in their shows. This and every Judas Priest song.
In the video for this song, lasers actually shoot out of his guitar
He debuted in 1982 and was for the most part a one hit wonder while two years later Bon Jovi came out with a similar style and became a legend. Bon Jovi at one time managed him and helped produce another album but by then Aldo Nova just couldn't get back on top. Aldo Nova is Canadian btw
Canadian , also wrote the first anti - drug song " Monkey on your Back" , produced and played all instruments on debut.
Think you need to go wayyyyyyy back and listen to Steppenwolf and check out "The Pusher" from 1968, as well as other anti-drug songs they did back then.
or the needle and the damage done and so many more way earlier than that
Awesome song!
I'd bed you guys would LOVE watching Joe Walsh and Ringo Starr, (and a collection of other geniuses), doing Funk #49 live in a studio.
You may be interested to know that this Canadian, Montreal born artist was inspired by Jimi Hendrix and jazz music.
This more movie sounds is good 👍
Hey Chod & Dee!! Boots with buckles were Dingos. Love your reactions, please dive into some more Frank Marino and Mahagony Rush, maybe Something's Comin Our Way?? ✌️ ☮️ 🇱🇷🎶🎼🎸❤️
In the video the guitar does shoot a laser beam to open a warehouse door.
War, yes in the streets.
The video has dude arriving to a concert in a helicopter.
He kept missing his own concerts. We started calling him Aldo No Show.
In the official music video to the song he does shoot lasers from his guitar in the official video the intro would make more sense
BALL AND CHAIN is good power ballad by Aldo nova, check it out
Yeah it's got a creepy vibe to it. Very dystopian.
Great song.. I recommend slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the conspirators.. Anastasia live from Sydney
Just an average hum drum day when another Canadian rips it up.
I forgot about this one! Good tune! Have you reacted to any Krokus yet? Ballroom Blitz cover is good, but that whole album rocked!
😂😂😂 I was 12 in 1982 but I was in a jean jacket
You are thinking of engineer boots. My favorite style of boots.
You want another cool song by Aldo Nova, react to “Hold Back the Night.” the song kicks ass, and is highly underrated.
I really Dig this song. 👊👍 But there's a song and band that no one has done a reaction to. It's in the Rock genre, a power rock ballad to be specific. Your missing the bigger picture! Celine Dion, Bon Jovi, etc his fingerprints are all over them.
Actually in the video lasers do shot out of his guitar:)
That whole album was pretty good. Fantasy was the best song on it
Funny you mentioned lasers. :) You should watch the official video.
You have to see the music video to understand the sound effects.
Aldo is famous for this tune but has others to check out. Try Monkey On Your Back, it is a classic banger. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎶
LOL, if you watch the video, Lasers DO come out of his guitar.
A bit of a one hit wonder, but cool song.....I loved it...years later riding with the kids in the car I put this on and they loved it.
Wow Dee
Mama Wilburn looking fine, attaboy Chod.
Listen to Tommy Johansson "You Raise Me Up 1 octave challenge", with your Wife! Regards: Lasse from Sweden
The video is futurist and terminator-ish, so the beginning doesn’t do justice without it.
BLOOD ON THE BRICKS ..................
There is a video. It’s pretty cool
U need too watch the original live version official video
Heard this when it first came out 40 years ago , but I wasn't wasting my time on rap crap like apparently someone else was ?
You should check out Billy Thorpe children of the Sun
Watch Fantasy official video !
desent guiter player great song good album i dont no if they had a secound album but i wore this one out aloha
His first four albums were his biggest.
1. Aldo Nova
2. Subject -- Aldo Nova
3. Twitch (got poor marketing from the label, leading to a big legal battle)
4. Blood On the Bricks (first release under new record label).
Plus watch Iron Maiden - phantom of the opera live
It's my Birthday Yeahhhh
Actually it's a flannel shirt over a concert tee, ripped jeans, work boots and a black leather jacket. Don't forget the bandanas and studded/spiked bracelets.
