    Story:
Once upon a time, in a small village, a kind family lived in a cozy hut. They had a sweet baby and a loyal mongoose who guarded their home. The mongoose loved the baby like a sibling.
One sunny day, the parents decided to go to the market. “Take care of our baby,” they told the mongoose. The mongoose nodded, ready to protect the little one.
While the baby slept in its cradle, a shadow slithered into the room. It was a deadly snake, its sharp fangs gleaming! The mongoose’s sharp eyes spotted the danger.
The mongoose stood in front of the cradle. The snake hissed and lunged, but the brave mongoose didn’t back down. It fought fiercely to protect the baby.
The snake struck fast, but the mongoose was faster. With one quick bite, the mongoose defeated the snake. The cradle was safe, and the baby slept soundly.
The mongoose’s mouth was stained with the snake’s blood. It ran to the door to greet the parents, wagging its tail proudly, hoping they’d see what it had done.
The parents returned home and saw the mongoose with blood on its mouth. “Oh no! It must have hurt our baby!” the mother cried in fear and anger.
Without thinking twice, the father grabbed a stick. The mongoose tried to explain with its actions, but humans couldn’t understand its loyal heart.
The father raised the stick and hit the mongoose. The poor creature whimpered and fell, hurt and confused, wondering why it was being punished.
Suddenly, the baby’s cry echoed from the room. The mother rushed inside and saw the baby smiling and unharmed. But near the cradle lay the dead snake.
The parents gasped. They finally understood what had happened. The mongoose had saved their baby from the deadly snake. Their hearts sank with guilt.
They ran to the mongoose, tears streaming down their faces. “Oh, brave mongoose! We misunderstood you. Please forgive us,” they said, stroking its head gently.
The mongoose wagged its tail weakly, forgiving them with its loyal heart. It was happy to see the baby safe and sound.
From that day on, the family treated the mongoose with even more love. It became a hero of the village, and everyone admired its bravery.
The parents learned an important lesson: never make quick judgments without knowing the full story. “Thank you, mongoose, for teaching us this,” they said.
If you were the parents, how would you thank the mongoose for saving the baby?
