Viktor..... Your Lexus mechanic videos are awesome. Glad to see you drive Toyota's as well! Glad to see the boat video, fishing, and dinner. Your wife is beautiful, give her a chance to be a star too. Go slow with the camera when you pan or rotate, slow and smooth is the ticket. Great trip!
Great video. You both are in tune with everything nature has to offer. ..fish, crabs, shrimp. Nice boat. Thanks for your work on the Lexus videos, Sir!
Great roadtrip and beautiful views! Happy to see a professional not being great with repairs but also enjoying nature and wildlife! Thanks for your videos, really saved me!
Wow, I actually own a 2013 RX450H AWD (can tow up to 3,500 lbs). Own a Jayco 22' travel trailer that weighs 3,300 dry (unloaded). I've towed it with no issues. I am amazed the Sienna can tow that much!!! My wife likes the new Sienna and this video totally justifies it.
Depends how deep you go into the water. Getting your tires wet won’t be an issue, but if you submerge past the bottom edge of the doors, you’ll be in trouble. Exterior electrical connectors are highly water resistant, interior ones are not.
You definitely want to get a good scan tool for, engine rpm, load %, coolant temp, mg1 temp, mg2 temp. if applicable , Hybrid battery temp if its cooled from in the car air monitor or adjust with heat on and windows cracked to allow cool air for the hybrid battery and dissipation of engine heat. A/C off. You may find yourself with your foot to the floor and the rpm almost maxed out going up a grade. Adjust your throttle from 99% to some load or rpm lower up inclines. Even if you are in cool temps add a trans cooler the biggest one that you can fit. It would be well worth it to do a full tans fluid change before trip. When the hybrid battery goes low its all motor. If you you really like your motor do a oil change only road side half way through the trip.
Cool video man, not gonna lie you’re kinda inspiring me to sell my superduty and haul the sled trailer with my RX haha. Btw I appreciate the S/o to beautiful BC. I’m located in northern BC
Thanks Gavin! I've driven the Stewart-Cassiar Highway and the Alaska Highway several times before on the way to Inuvik and Skagway. Love it up there in Northern BC and always look back at the adventures with fond memories!
In a video posted awhile back by the “Car care Nut”, a former Toyota master mechanic, I recall him saying that he would not recommend towing with the Sienna anywhere near it’s 3500lb towing capacity. Here you are towing 4500lb’s a relatively short distance but planning to tow the boat several hundred miles in the future. Your thoughts, concerns? By the way your daughter is very lovely!
Hi Paul, I don’t really concern myself with what that Car Nut gentleman has to say. I’ll be monitoring the transmission fluid temperature to make sure it doesn’t overheat. The lady in the video is my wife and she said she really appreciates your compliment 😀
@@haseebtubing the boat/trailer is around 5000 lbs. After weighing it, I decided not to pull it over the mountains and used my truck instead. If your trailer is under 4000 lbs, you would have no issues towing it.
@Viktor_G_Automotive hey Viktor, since you also lived in cold climate. So you recommend to install a block heater on a Hybrid Sienna or it is not necessary?
@@TekkenWar I have a block heater on mine, but haven’t used it since I park in a heated garage. However, if you park outside in very cold weather (below -20C), it would definitely be beneficial.
Viktor, what kind/size rims do you have on there? I was reading the XSE rims for the AWD model are 18” because the motor in the rear can’t accommodate larger ones?
Hi Brian, they are 18” RAC wheels. You can put any size wheels/tires on it, as long as they don’t rub, the rear motor doesn’t care about it. The thing can pull a huge boat, it can definitely spin larger wheels 😀
Have a few questions :) 1. What is the weight of your trailer with boat? 2. What is payload weight? 3. Did you install separate brake controller? I am planning to go camping with my family next month and RV that I will rent has 2800 lbs and 400 lbs payload weight. Considering if I need a brake controller... Not a long drive though, 120 kms and mostly flat
The boat and trailer weigh around 5500 lbs. Myself, wife and gear was around 450 lbs. The boat trailer has hydraulic surge brakes. If the RV you are renting has surge brakes, you don’t need a brake controller. If it has electric brakes, you should probably get one so that you are not relying solely on the van to stop everything. Check with your local jurisdiction regarding how heavy of a trailer you can legally tow without operational trailer brakes.
I'm thinking buying toyota sienna in future. I wanna see your video going back to calgary. I'm doing trip nextweek from winnipeg with acura mdx with camper weight 3500 with load going to vancouver island.
We have a Honda Odyssey When the wire broke and the trailer brakes stopped working, I really noticed it . If you are Towing any amount of weight say over 1500 pounds it’s pretty much essential to have those trailer brakes working. Sure you can stop, but you’re gonna be burning out your brake pads, and over loading the vehicle . When the trailer brakes are working and dialled in to the adjustment you like, you barely notice the trailer is there .
@@Initialcomment it was right around 5500 lbs. I decided not to tow it over the mountains with the van after weighing it, but for short distances it was fine.

Hi, I'm curious, is your Sienna awd or fwd? I would like to tow with my fwd but concerned about wheel slippage when pulling the boat & trailer out of the water (especially in unfinished or gravel drives). thank you , in advance.
Mine is AWD. I would not attempt this with a FWD personally, with the weight of the boat trailer on the rear of the van, there’d be limited traction up front
