best purchase I made for grilling 2 years ago. It’s great for tailgates, the ranch, the beach, and especially if you live in an apartment that doesn’t allow grills to be left on the balcony. Plenty of cheap alternatives but no complaints on it since purchased.
Arnie I love you man but $650 is way too much, I'll suffer some inconvenience to transport my $80 grill if I need it that bad. It's in the skill not the grill.
I thought to myself this is really cool “searches on google” $650 😮 Might as well buy a full size grill with all the best features. Portability seems to be the only highlight here a $20 grill can do the same.
Geez I only had to watch eight UA-cam reviews to find one that was actually helpful. Thanks for letting us know how it was to cook, how it was to clean, the pros and cons, etc. Nice review
If you were educated you would know $650 for a “Charcoal Grill” is Nonsense. And nobody bothers to think about the cleaning process. If you’re out in the woods you can’t just dump Hot Coals out on the grass or in the bushes. It would be a crime.
Had mine for awhile. Love it! Built like a tank and is going to last forever. Bigger charcoal is best if you don’t have their charcoal. I added a small grate for regular charcoal to maintain better airflow. Really worth the money especially if have gone through cheap portable grills.
I hate the grills you find at parks mainly because they are not set up for airflow under the coals, hence why I always would bring my own portable. Unless you are using large charcoal the Nomad had the same flaw if you use smaller normal size charcoal. Once it burns down, it fills the area inbetween those fins and you lose that airflow. The added grate helps that. I just took one from an old grill I had. Their Charcoal is awesome, but it does take a lot of heat to get them going (their fire starters really help) but once they are going they will burn for a very long time. Problem for me in regards to Nomad charcoal and fire starters is that I live in Hawaii and shipping is insane. I also got the second grate, but I’ve only used it once and even when I did, I really didn’t need to for cooking burgers and brats at the beach. Unless you are cooking for a large group, you don’t really need it. When I first saw it, I was blown away by the price and put it out of my mind. Without ever mentioning it, my wife surprised me on my Birthday when they first came out since she saw a local Chef use one. It has become my main charcoal grill cause it’s small and I don’t have to start a large fire to get a meal done. Easily packs up for the beach. When you are done, close vents, lock it up and that fire is dead. This grill is the real deal. I really do feel it is the last portable grill you will purchase. I have easily spent over 650.00 in cheap portable grills over my lifetime.
Ordered one today. Father's Day gift to myself lol. My wife won't get the idea. Anyway got free shipping and a few grates. With my military discount it was $585. It's a splurge. But so was my solo stove and I've used the fuck out of it for over a year
@@baldemargarcia6341 Not insinuation anything, just agreeing with pat, not everybody is gonna spend that kind of money and some cannot afford too, I'm still not rich either but I am blessed.
Right on @dwayne, some of these guys are missing the whole point. Its a good quality, durable and light grill, designed to be a portable fun grill no t he end all be all grill for everything, thanks
Buying this is Dumb. I’m sorry but $650 is Insane for something I can do on a Webber Grill. And No It Is NOT THE PERFECT Grill. It is charcoal and everyone knows you can’t use a charcoal grill just anywhere. Some Campsites and Public parks don’t allow Charcoal Grills. And Perfect For Tail gating… NO.!! Because then where are you gonna dump the Hot Coals??? Not in a trash can cause you’ll start a fire. Not on the side of the road cause you’ll burn a forest. Not in the back of your truck and I don’t need to explain why..
@@JoeTaco83 You obviouslly dump the coals in a meat-prep tray you were gonna throw away anyway, or into a damp/wet ziplock after they've cooled down, like plenty of people are already doing or are required by local parks to do. It's really, REALLY, not hard. And being able to grill right on the bed or tailgate as necessary because of the heat dissipation is massively beneficial. Also, watch the vid, he literally said go dig a small hole and dump the coals in there if you're out and about without carrying access. Bruh
I'd love to get one of these. Our apartment complex owners took away our BBQ equipment and, being from the midwest, I felt like it hurt my faith as a bbq enthusiast. Most of us are here for school and we don't have a lot of money to do stuff like this. I would try and get one of these, if they weren't so expensive.
@@noname-zg8lh I feel like that would be a waste all in itself. I know you're joking but the reusability and the portability of this thing is definitely worth how much it costs, if you can afford it
@fleasg yes it sure would work out on the trail or camping , I have a blower and an air compressor too at home but that dust would get on everything so I prefer the vac at home.
Man, this thing probably costs 150$ to manufacture AT MOST….Too greedy for my blood. But to be fair, it’s on par with other premium portable grills like PK. Would like to see someone buck the trend with something affordable.

Do the magnets have anything around them to protect them from the heat? Magnets loose all their effect ovet 175f, so if not protected, they're kinda useless long term.
Well so... aluminum and Stainless are not magnetic? So not sure how that functions. And 650.00 is up there if you ask me. You can get a pretty decent stick burner for that price.
If you think you can get a "decent" stick burner for that you are delirious.lol. Maybe one of those paper thin big box store one that dont even work maybe yea.
This is cool. I would love to see how well you can smoke in this. After seeing that people would have a better idea if its worth it to them or not, being more than just a grill.
PK has several models, I have the original one, solid solid great cooker. Only think i hate about it is the bottom vent holes drop lots of ash and lit coals, not good on wooden decks etc. so I keep a large roasting pan under mine when i use it. Not quiet as portable as the Nomad but now PK makes new and improved models and a table top model, PK is a great brand imo.
Akorn Chargriller Jr is the only competition for this grill. The Akorn can smoke, grill, make pizzas, anything you want. Plus lightweight and keeps the heat for hours with the insulation and half the price. You should try it out!
Wish they made something HALF that size. I’m just looking for a charcoal grill that’s compact and only big enough to cook for two for long camping trips where I can’t make a ground fire. All this huge expensive stuff or tiny Chinese crap is all that’s available. Go figure.
Took a look, but I'm not paying over $600 bucks for a tabletop grill. The price is ridiculous -- and the charcoal? $72 for 20 lbs. Nope. Overpriced fluff.
