    I, generally, use a ratcheting, interchangeable regular-sized screwdriver for the initial loosening of screws. Here's a link to the brand I use:

    Get some additional, varying sizes Flathead and Phillips bits while you're at it.
    The adjustable wrenches I use (instead of hex nut wrenches) are Husky, but these (with the red insert) work very well... 6-inch will be used the most:

    If you prefer to use hex nut wrenches, I'd recommend angled/offset ones, like these:

    Big fan of the 80’s and early 90’s Penn SS’s. Cool to see what’s inside of these models. Thanks.

    what is that main gear made out of ? Great video....looks like the pinion gear is made out of the same material as the main gear.

    Thanks for another very helpful video. My 3500V was noisier than it had been, so I followed along. I am pretty certain its the AR. Where would you recommend I purchase parts?

      Thanks for watching! It may be one of your bearings also. You can find it all at mysticparts.com

      You were right, I think the bearings are part of the problem. Can I trouble you to advise the part numbers I need? I went to the Mystic Website and the diagram/parts list was confusing because of revisions. Thanks

      Thanks for watching! Did you service your drag when you serviced the reel?

  • @omarahmed1885

    Your videos are great. So i tried to do the same for my reel and service it, but when i put it back together the spool seems to be sitting a bit low. i reassembled it twice but cant figure out why the spool is low compared to the bail. all parts reaseembled and looked at schematic as well.

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  2 роки тому

      Thanks for watching, Omar! What do you mean when you say it seems to be a bit low? Is the reel functioning properly, is it scraping at the bottom of the oscillation, etc? Please be very specific.

    • @omarahmed1885
      @omarahmed1885 2 роки тому

      Meaning the spool is sitting low, at the lowest point the line roller looks to be above the spool for putting on line, and at the highest point the spool is mid level with line roller (bail). oscillation is fine and not hitting and the shims/etc are in. it rotates and oscillates just fine, the spool just seems a cm low or so.

    • @TSGReelService
      @TSGReelService  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the explanation. If the reel is oscillating fine with no issues, you're missing something... either your spool is missing washers (riding low) or your rotor is sitting high... check your pinion stack for extra washers that shouldn't be there... or a combo of both.... I can't think of anything else. Hope that helps.
