Budgetwise, I suggest install rigid collar at first (thailand brand one is enough, no need the Spoon one). Rigid collar is strong regiment to improve handling dramatically in a proper way without affecting much comfort. Then if it's still not enough, add sport spring kit, like Eibach/H&R, and still use stock shock absorber to keep it comfortable for daily ride. Spring kit will affect your car ground clearance to be lowered 1,5 cm to 2,5 cm. If you still want oem ground clearance then change to the thicker tyre offset next time if your tyre need to change. Or, if you don't want any cons derived from the spring kit but still want to improve the handling then you go with UR at last. UR is not a strong regimen to improve the handling compared to the rigid collar and spring kit and it's very expensive. So it should be the last option to improve handling.
I had Stiff Ring installed on the next day after I took my X50. Doesn't really help much though until I installed 4 pcs of Eva Coil rubbers. I do not want to sacrifice comfort too much with stiffer setup like UR. Well, the results are while negotiating a fast bend at 130kmh when the road is uneven is clearly felt. The wallow is 80% gone!
last time i did UR bars i think around 4 or 5 pieces of them including strut, under carriage front and rear, rear anti roll bar, etc on the FD2 (non R), the car became too hard and very bumpy for daily drive. After that i pay a visit to KL Auto and they removed almost all the bars except for strut and rear anti roll bar and do an under carriage, A, B pillars foaming, the car handles very well with some natural roll and much much better comfort to live with daily. From there on, foaming will be my first choice without going into bars unless i want something more. The bars are good for handling (not denying) but can be a bit too hard for daily drive. No doubt if the car is planned to go on track, bars are the way to go (with foaming).
Good one, Bobby and Jeff for sharing his S70 UR set-up. You should have shown the viewers the Stage 1&2....struts at engine bay and undercarriage. Warranty not void? Not too sure about that as manufacturers generally don't like us having additional stuff or messing with theirs😅
wow make me wan buy s70 again..watched ur video previously and commented on the bodyroll I actually hesitated..I tested the car but no chance to test it on a twisty road so cant really notice the bodyroll..haha
Bobby, on the side note. There's a viral video of X50 that are save from coalition supposedly from the ADAS system help him steer to the right to avoid hitting cat infront reversing at highway.. Can the proton ADAS actually can do that? cause for me it seems far fertch.. yes it can brake automatically via AEB, but to auto steer? seems the technology too advance
@20:15 that is what i always refer to as 'unrealistic expectation of perfection', it's still a mass produced product. it will NOT be perfect on the handling upgrade, it's the rear anti roll bar that makes the difference. i installed one for my previous Exora, same brand, it made a lot of difference. and going back further, i upgraded the front and rear anti roll bars on an Impreza WRX STI GDB and also it transformed than handling. first suspension upgrade an owner should do
Geely cars got no Proton handling, just normal tuning to suit with our road conditions. Just accept that. And jgn mandai2 use marketing lotus handling in newer Proton cars, don't lie to your potential buyers
Bobby watching your videos for a long while now. Good Job. But I'm realizing the more I watch the more you remind me of Jho Low............but better looking la.😅😅😅
Torsion beam isn't exactly a bad thing if it's tuned right. Mazda got away with using torsion beam on the Mazda 3, so does some European C segmenters, with some decent results too. Pros and cons, but if there's options to sharpen up your handling even on a torsion beam, why not?
Jeff seems to be a great sport. Thanks to Jeff for letting Bobby review this setup.
Bobby you are very humble with strangers....
In the car community there is nothing like strangers.Easily dialed in if interests in the same.

oh yes i have China made rigid collars on my GD350, the driving character literally changed. Turn in precise.
You can make do with stiff ring , works the same like rigid collar

How much for these 2 stages ya? Do we need to do alignment after installing this?

If you're rajin, at least you can get them removed before you send it in for warranty jobs.
Rajin is one thing😅 but really leceh to remove then pasang balik...OMG....I've tried before!
How much does the UR cost?
What’s the total cost of the set up?
Can this beat BMW 120i?
wow make me wan buy s70 again..watched ur video previously and commented on the bodyroll I actually hesitated..I tested the car but no chance to test it on a twisty road so cant really notice the bodyroll..haha
Nice video..Do more car reviews under 200k as more buyers are under tht category..
Nice bro.. Wonder if executive version can apply like this or not😅.. Seem a pleasant driving experience there
May I know what exactly was installed and roughly what is the cost?
Bobby boss help us out
Excellent review drive, enjoyed it🎉
All my cars also install UR bar
My saga blm 2007, stage 1
City hybrid 2017, full stage
Civic ehev also full stage
😅Not relevant to the video content, but what brand of glass frame is Jeff wearing? That is a nice pair of spectacle.
Everything is relevant to what men wear when they are driving even if it's out of sight.
I'm interested to know on how he doesn't mind turning to S70 when he's had owned several BMWs.. it'd be nice to hear his clarification
He still have his BMWs, the S70 is his daily runabout, which previously was a VW Vento
i installed the autofoam for my car last year. just undercarriage. might wanna see if this mod gonna help more
does it help much or just marketing gimmick? I cant convice myself for autofoam, how's the sound isolation too?
@@faith7609 sound isolation not so much but it feel steadier abit on highways. i think is equivalent with stage 1 setup for bar.
Bobby, on the side note. There's a viral video of X50 that are save from coalition supposedly from the ADAS system help him steer to the right to avoid hitting cat infront reversing at highway..

Install full UR stage 2 and then send to KL auto for full chassis foaming, change the tyres to Michelin PS5.
Want to drive a Vios with UR bars ?

On par with Mazda 3 handling ady?
Nope. But wayyyyy more comfy.
Hahaha I seee 🙏🏻, I guess I'll still prefer the one with more fun 😂
Geely cars got no Proton handling, just normal tuning to suit with our road conditions. Just accept that. And jgn mandai2 use marketing lotus handling in newer Proton cars, don't lie to your potential buyers
China car is getting must better day by day. China era is unstoppable
Their EVs are literally explosives
Mantap 👍
Proton
Dnt tell it is UR brand until they paid you advertisng fee.😂😂😂😂UR should paid you. It is good product by the way.
Bobby watching your videos for a long while now. Good Job. But I'm realizing the more I watch the more you remind me of Jho Low............but better looking la.😅😅😅
A bit like jack neo also haha
Tension beam is tension beam...how hard one try to do modification its still the same...so...have to live with it...
Torsion beam

Pros and cons, but if there's options to sharpen up your handling even on a torsion beam, why not?
funny Renault didn''t see any issue to put torsion beam on their Renault Megane RS. it's not due to torsion beam design
How do you find modern safety features?
Irritating…
Spoken like a true connoisseur 😂
