I'm not gonna lie, I was genuinely disappointed when I found out they canceled the CCBS Super Battle Droid. I literally never buy multiples of the same set, but that would have been an exception. It would have been so cool to see multiple Super Battle Droids lined up next to the General Grievous model.
The drill vehicle looks so cool
What's extraordinary with Europa is how appealing the village buildings look, even though they use the lcassic red/yellow/blue/green colours.
Man I really hope we get that Temple of Doom lego set.
I mean they paid a lego designer to produce the design for it, they created the box art and no doubt the manual has been made.
I also hope we get more in the future. The Indiana jones line has so much potential.
Cheers for the video, good watch!
funny how indiana jones is probably the closest we'll ever get to a gangsters subtheme (i'm thinking of set 7682 in particular)
I agree. It's just a Lego set, they should have been allowed to release it.
The Indiana Jones one hurts the most. The fact that the line may very well be dead after already being introduced is one of the most infuriating things Lego could potentially ever do.
Hold on the lines going to be killed? Why?
@@Hank4901 no sets were released for the newest film and credible leakers have indicated nothing Indy related will release in 2024. I don’t understand why Lego would bring the theme back only to drop it again. It seems like the 3 sets are rather popular actually so it’s even more strange. All we can hope for is sales crazy enough for Lego to see the product demand and continue.
@@thebutterstick8659 Does this have to do with the new movie not being that successful in the theaters?
@@TheDutchGhost No, because if they designed sets to coincide with the film it would’ve been too late to pull them from shelves. I don’t quite know why Lego is possibly dropping the theme
@@thebutterstick8659 A shame if they do because I really would like to have seen more sets based on the first three movies including the flying wing again.
14:11 I really hope a prototype sculpt shows up for this, as it has with Seatron. The Dragonmasters dragon is my favorite specialised lego piece of all time, and I would LOVE to own one of these, even if it was a 3D print. I also wish for more pics of it.
New Lego Movie Sets:
70843 Chainsaw Dave's Battle Vehicle - 588 pcs - 4 figs - $60
70844 Unikitty Playground - 756 pcs - 6 figs - $80
70845 The Batmobile Drill - 1745 pcs - 8 figs - $200
I will never forget LEGO for cancelling the LEGO Movie 2 batmobile
To be honest, having an electric toy (monorail) for an underwater theme is a recipe for disaster.
It's also really cool to see the DNA of the Seatron prototypes present in Aquazone. The black and green color scheme was used for Aquaraiders, and we can see the big raised baseplates paired together in the same way they were used for the Aquanauts base set. And some of those sea-people craft resemble some of the Aquazone Sting-Rays sets, like the little crab mech.
Also, the way you have some of your sets haphazardly stacked on top of one another horrifies me. Bruh. You gotta be willing to disassemble some of your sets if you don't have the display space.
the audio levels are a bit all over the place throughout the video, but it was a great watch nonetheless !
Man, I wish they'd release that gangster theme.
They could do film tie ins - classic scenes from Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas 😂
Although both films take place several decades after the roaring twenties...
@@hakanstorsater5090 - It was a joke about the idea of 'Lego Gangsters' - not the time period 😏
@@SuperMunkeh Ah. I'm trying to come up with good films set in the original gangster period, though. I guess I kinda like Untouchables and Bonnie & Clyde, as well as the original Scarface...
@@hakanstorsater5090 - The show Boardwalk Empire was set in that period - great show.
Those Lego movie 2 vehicles looks so awesome
That driller does remind me of the titanium command rig from power miners. Wait... is that a cement truck on the back?
My dude is not only flexing with the bricks but also with the Comme des garçons
501st c bbs and super battle droid was a tragic , maybe if they didnt focus too much on squeal figures it would’ve been made
7:47 If LEGO had done this instead, their building system would have never been as popular as it is today. Especially with inflation considered, people would just shrug their shoulders and assume the LEGO building system no different than cheaper dolls and action figures from other toy companies, then walk away. Remember that action figures from the Galidor line could not really interface or interlock with other LEGO pieces. Minifigures can. Plus, having larger-scale action figures would have required prohibitively larger models that take up much more space and cost people much more money. Even with minifigures, we still complain day after day, week after week, and year after year about how overpriced all kinds of LEGO sets from all kinds of different LEGO themes have become. Imagine just how much more expensive LEGO would be if everything were produced at action figure scale. Minifigures are small enough that we do not need to build huge, space-consuming vehicles and structures to play with them. Yes, they may have much less articulation, and yes, they may be much less authentic, but in return, they are cheap, robust, and compact. And sometimes, the best products that roll off the assembly line come in small packages.
Imagine if action figures like the ones in the Galidor line were used instead of minifigures in The LEGO Movie that launched in 2014. Everything in the movie would have been built at a larger scale and the characters would have likely looked not that much different from non-LEGO characters in non-LEGO movies. Even if the same animation style was used, the action figure characters onscreen would still look out of place in a brick-built environment. Kids and parents would not have been able to distinguish the characters as LEGO characters as easily as they did. Do you think as many people would have wanted to see the movie then? Nope. Why? It would have looked no different than a regular, non-LEGO stop-motion movie, which there were plenty of those out there already before The LEGO Movie and its spinoffs launched (Fantastic Mr. Fox, ParaNorman, etc.). People would have just walked away thinking The LEGO Movie was ultimately just more of the same, the whole movie would have been a box office disappointment, and the sequel and spinoff films would have never seen the light of day. (By the way, we also probably wouldn't have gotten the Playmobil movie that launched in 2019.)
A primary reason why The LEGO Movie was as successful as it was has to do with the nostalgia of the LEGO building system. Remember that LEGO Minifigures have been around since 1978, and many generations of children have cycled through since then. Many adults today were children during the earlier days of LEGO and remember the Minifigure as an icon of their childhood years. With a minifigure character, these people, and the majority of those in the more recent generations, can all tell straight away that the character is LEGO. With an action figure, people have to ask themselves, is this character a toy or a real person? If their joints are exposed on camera, then people have to ask themselves, is this character supposed to be a living being or a robot? (we had this problem with Bionicle!) None of that is confirmed until it is said or shown in the movie that the character is a toy human or robot. But with LEGO Minifigures, the audience can look at the characters onscreen and not need any background information or context to tell they are LEGO characters. That ability to recognize the type of characters quickly allows more room for story development throughout the film and appeals to the audience. So in my opinion, I do believe that we should be extremely grateful that LEGO stayed true to the minifigure.
If we want action figures, there's plenty of places out there to buy action figures. Many companies are great at making action figures, and I can point you to all kinds of different shops and stores that can perfectly satisfy your cravings for good, high-quality action figures. But if there's one thing that has been made clear after so many years of countless knockoff copycat brands, its that no company is better at producing the LEGO minifigure or LEGO pieces than LEGO itself.
I would love to see another of these videos. It's so neat seeing what Lego sets were built but cancelled for some reason.
Batman's a big fan of the Thunder Driller, I see
i swear bro jus loves to walk backward down his stairs xD
He's had a lot of training!
The Technic AT-RT looks awesome! Totally want that one!
That Indiana Jones set should have been produced. It was amazing
I really wish we would have got that Lego city criminal lair
21:40 I have no interest in lego star wars and when I saw this I yelled in confusion, this would have been badass!
I was also surprised that Lego cancelled the crook’s headquarters from the city line back in 2021.
What!!! Dang I want a gangster theme in Lego now, that sounds awesome!!!
I would like number 6 to be made. They could have the 1800s sets from Lego, like the Napoleon era, the Victorian era, and even the Czars era. And the the 1920s gangsters would have been good too. I am trying to make a complete history
Were there any scrapped modulars?
Likely, but they're being safely kept in the vault...
Wow your house makes a Lego shop look empty. Also, it’s impressive how to did that intro while walking backwards the whole time.
You know you can flex when all you gotta do is walk backwards 😂
@duckbricks, have you ever accidentally knocked over sets when filming?
Everytime I would walk through your house I would end up picking things up that I knocked off shelves for hours.
Before watching this I never knew that Galador existed, and I was a much happier man because of it.
It's beyond cursed looking. That crap is NOT LEGO.
Where can I see the original images for power miners?
Great video and channel. one Lego series I wish they would have not canceled is the Wild West theme Lego sets they had in the 1990s I remember as a kid building them they were really cool. I wish they would bring them back even if it was just for a limited time
What about the Bionicle/Hero Factory sets? Those were some of the coolest sets imo.
@@Game_Blox9999 True
There was a buffalo/ bison mold that was never released, I recall...
I feel like they should release instructions on how to build these unreleased sets
not the ones in this vid to my knowledge, but there are unreleased sets that have instructions
Got a little peak at gangsters in detective's agency modular and the gangster minifig from the mini figures series. some The modulars themselves actually lend themselves really well to a gangsters type layout. The jazz club, the detective's agency, police station and i guess palace cinema🙃
Where can I see the original images for power miners
Just2good's old "Ten Cancelled Sets" videos are great. This had some of those.
Lego Indiana Jones might be more trouble than it's worth tbh. I think for that reason Lego should just being back the Adventurers theme, it would scratch that Indiana Jones itch for a lot of people without having the controversies the I.J. series tends to deal with like with the Temple of Doom set.
im crying rn it making my lego collection look so sad
Apart from those minifigs (and I'd really love some new Willie Scott and Short Round minifigs), and the overall concept of the minecar chase, I honestly don't think that TOD set looks very good. It looks much shonkier than the 3 Indiana Jones sets that *were* released this year. So, whilst cultural insensitivity and racism are possible factors for the set's cancellation, it's also highly possible it was cancelled simply because it was a bit rubbish...
If this man triped he would die and also destroy a bunch of lego
how do you get that money to buy all of that
The temple of doom set hurts every day
id woulda killed for the canceled dynamite factory
You were just some random LEGO video recommended to me. Damn bro you've got so much plastic! Nice!
Great top 10 vid. Thanks Chris
I just found this channel. I always fight with my girlfriend for permission to buy another set. 😀 When I saw your intro, I called her and showed her the intro. "This really is a Lego collection! Look how modest my collection is!" 😀
awesome episode
Dawg your audio mixing is all over the place. In one part you can even tell your to far grom the mic snd then got closer to it. Other than that i kept having to adjust my volume cause its literally everywhere
Why does no one understand that Temple of Doom is an extremely dark movie it had sacrifices, and rituals and slaves. I’m pretty sure Lego doesn’t want to promote that kind of thing
How hard would it be for this guy to move houses
i still really want 42113
That isn’t a Atlantis logo duck it’s a Waynetech logo
I'd love to buy that batman vehicle, idc if it wasn't in the movie
maaaan what u gonna do if theres an earth quake or somthing
Must be a pain to clean dust from all of your legos g.g
#giveusthemanuals
(I am new here) my grandpa is shocked how much lego i have he would surely get a heart attack if he sees this man's intro =:
Hi, where do you find those cancelled sets? I just want to read about them and the reasons why they were not gone through to the public.
It would be really scary if galidor succeeded, Lego would be shifting away from bricks 😳
Cool
you sound sooo out of breath the whole video 😭 it's okay you can slow down a bit
aquazone.. you just said 1980s thats a mistake. its mid 90s
I cant even consider these 'constraction' things as lego. Like its not even close, they're all ugly as hell and cant even be used with anything else. Imagine if they didnt make ANY of these and didnt even consider the idea of them to begin with. Think of all the cool things yhey could have used all that time effort and money for and how many different sets we probably could have gotten out of this.
Omg imagine an earthquake goes off nearby this guy's home. All that hard work mounting all of those figs and sets on the walls and ceiling just knocked the hell down and all that work wasted...sorry just the firsr thing i could think of
I died a little when they pulled the V-22. My dad used to work with them and it’s been a dream to have a Lego set of one.
Definitely a white whale for me.
Instead Lego decided to introduce the Dreamzzz sets...meh.
Well, it is a pretty original and cool theme, I'll give them that.
I wanna see a bottom 10 😈
You're a brave man... walking backwards through rooms filled with completed Lego sets! 🙂
I really think the Europa line would have been great, as it was what was going in Lego's "Europe" during the same timeline as the Pirates sets. The soldiers in the Europa set are identical to the ones from the Imperials from 1989. I could actually see it going from the 1600s-1800s and sort of bridges the gap between the 80s-90s era Castle era to the 80s-90s City era.
id rather Lego make original themes rather than license themes.
Me too. Especially considerong how creative most of their original themes are
A little ironic that they redesigned the Las Vegas Skyline set because of the Las Vegas shooting that killed 60 people... but they had no problem releasing the Titanic as set, where 1500 people died. But to be fair there's a big difference between an event that happened in 2017 and one that happened in 1912.
Mark stafford (the most notable person who designs superhero sets) spent a year working on a superhero set that never got released. No wonder 2019 was such a barren year for dc.
To be fair, I don’t actually see the set selling that well unfortunately.
There are reports out there that it was the rights-holder that made the decision to cancel the Temple of Doom set rather than LEGO. Not sure if that's true but it wouldn't surprise me if it is.
27:46 If that set did get released. It could've been modified to become the Underminer's large drill tank from the end of the first Incredibles / the begining of Incredibles 2.
Thank you for such an interesting and informative video! Although I've never been a fan of constraction-style figures, I can appreciate the important role they played in forming the LEGO we know today. And I have to agree that Batman's Battle Vehicle would have been so cool as a set. Personally, I mostly just wish that the yellow cement mixer truck will eventually be re-worked into an official set, as we've only ever gotten one rather underwhelming CITY cement mixer.
Wow, I've never seen those 2012 Superheroes Aquaman and Superman figures before. It seems like LEGO were really trying hard to expand on the CCBS system... Such as shame they just kind of gave up on it as soon as the sales dropped.
There's also Sketches for a Wolverine one.
I can't believe Dreamzzz has a freaking canceled galidor tribute as a flagship set. Look at the bike at 17:53 and tell me the crocodile car has no resemblance to it at all.
Geez, I really thought that Batman's battle vehicle released. Guess I thought wrong.
Such a cool design too, it almost feels more like a MOC rather than an official retail set!
Scottish people don't use the word Scotch. in Scotland it has been replaced in favor of Scottish or Scots.
Though, there wouldn't be any Scottish armies because Scotland stopped existing as an independent state only 7 years into the 18th century.
Either way I would have loved it because the 18th century is a time period in Europe that does not get much attention overseas.
"Scotch" indeed only refers to distilled corn liquor from Scotland. Anything else that comes from Scotland would be referred to as "Scottish."
Is there any way to get that Batman tank drill vehicle
Is there an instruction or something else?
if LEGO decides to release that cancellled Batman Battle drill Vehicle i'll definitely going to get one
4:55 They were also planning on doing Wolverine for Marvel. #RestoretheWBLegoVerse.
The one thing that surprised me about the Star Wars CCBS line is that we never got a C-3P0. IMO it would have been a very popular set.
That would mean gold hands. And gold hands is a thing lego didn't want to do, for some reason
@@dogdog357 How do you know they specifically didn't want to do the hand/fist element in gold? They did it in silver in many sets so I don't see why gold would have been a problem.
@jfwfreo 1. Many gold sets with no silver at all had silver hands (2015 Tahu, basically all of the rockas, 2015 Ekimu)
2. In his animation model, Breakout Rocka had a gold hand. But, as mentioned above, he had a silver one in the set.
i wanted a b1 similar to the original technic figure
One earthquake will cause everything in that room to fall
Bro I would hate to see an earthquake happen near your house 😂
That house is like a childhood dream
How do you move in😂😂😂
omg u talk so much
Great video!🐐
Nice outfit.
Imagine liquid features in a Lego set wow 😳
Something I noticed- those pictures of the Europa prototypes had a minifig with a rapier. It looks exactly like the rapier part we'd eventually get many years after those Europa concepts were canned.
We existed in the 1980's, but LEGO hadn't directed any marketing budget towards us at that point.
I’m still holding out hope for the Temple of Doom set. It looks awesome, and Lego never explained any good reason why they cancelled it. I hope they’ve just pushed it back to alter wave; surely they didn’t only plan to make three sets for such a massive franchise.
If the GWP had been Takanuva instead of Toa Tahu, then I would have picked that one up, for sure. I just didn't feel any love for the Bionicle GWP they did release.
The Temple of Doom really gets me. Since I was a kid, Temple of Doom was my favorite movie. I had the old set when I was little, it was my favorite set… the mine track, dumping the rocks on people, the trap door at the top, the awesome minifigure lineup, what a set! I was so hyped when I saw the new one. I really hate what’s happening to society at large as I get older. Something like a canceled ToD set is symptomatic of our overall culture in 2023-24 and that disgusts me. How sad, honestly
Cool vid, thanks.
One small tip... the word 'actually' is predominantly used by people who have a limited vocabulary, and you don't strike me as such a person
