every town in the country has good and bad parts so well done on focusing on the good parts . those moaning about the town , nothing is stopping you moving away as far as i see there are no fences holding you in . we are a short drive from the moors , a stones throw from a number of beaches . i couldn't think of anything worse than living in a city nowhere near either of them .
I’ve traveled up from Brum to Hartlepool many times for work. And also leisure trips. A lovely place full of good people. Please don’t hold onto your prejudices go see for yourselves. It will surprise you.
I was born in 1958 at the Hartlepool Grantully Nursing Home and my mum and dad lived at 31 Bailey Street with my two older sisters. Bailey Street has now been demolished and the Nursing Home is now closed. @@Billyg215
Also, Hartlepool elected a monkey as mayor of the town (twice) He ran on a ticket of free bananas for all. This isn't a joke Google it. He was very popular and successful, and did indeed provide free daily fruit for school children. The museum and quayside is well worth the entrance fee. I kept a boat in the marina for many years and was a member of the Hartlepool Small Crafts Club (briliant club and the steward "Les" was a top bloke)
Its a dump , crime invested mess. People openly deal drugs all over the town highest amount of herion addicts in the country, famous for having 9 foodbanks and Highest council tax in the country
Some kind, affectionate words for our town; what a refreshing change. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
I know someone that lives in Hartlepool, I love their accent, I wish I had one. Hello from Toronto, Canada.
Visited Hartlepool and Seaton Carew on a visit from America just last week and had a great time. Lovely people, great museum, amazing food.
Glad you enjoyed yourself. Same as me!

Been from Hartlepool you made our town look good 👍🏻
The £10 is to access were the big ship is and can go on it in the old west quay and see a old town etc as the museum is free
Thanks for a review that didn't slag the town
Born and raised here.
My home town. ❤ x
The monkey is a popular urban myth.
I was born and bred in Penrith Street in 1955 and hope to get back down to the headland where i have family still living there.
It could have been a powder monkey from of a Froggie ship.@@jackiegeritz5345

Nice video, enjoyed it.
Hartlepool is a lovely town. Those who think it isn't haven't been to many other places!
They thought the monkey was a French spy, 100%.
The monkey was probably a powder monkey, a young lad who carried gunpowder to the cannons
No it was real monkey believe me I live near Hartlepool.
@@graemenicol6377 silly idea as it was a sea faring port so would have known about foreigners. (Also I am from the town)
@@ianmason2296 the problem is all Hartlepoolers are idiots unlike us yackers.
@@ianmason2296 the problem people from Hartlepool aren't sensible enough to know the difference unlike us Colliery lot.
@@graemenicol6377 It was a real monkey believe you because you live near there?..🤣 It’s just a legend

Angus the Monkey lol.
Nothing wrong with Hartlepool any day of the week
I was born in Hartlepool, but my family moved to Canada when I was young. Glad they did.
Did you stay in Hartlepool and let your family go to Canada as they did ???? and left you all alone It`s what i read from your comment..
@@Billyg215 No, I moved to Canada with my family in 1973, I was 2.

Why didn’t you visit the Marina ?
5:56. A little drive to the headland. A Hartlepool joke. The road network never really encouraged a drive to the headland.
But a good walk did.
Why you pronounce h as hitch m s? Not hms sir.
It`s not hitch it`s aitch. Why karnt yew pronownce Inglish like us edlanders doo
Your literally the only person to be impressed with hpool.
I loved Hartlepool! Been there couple of times. People are so friendly and polite, very clean town too.
@@ttee4338 Clean town are you mad??
It is something but clean
Only some parts are clean the rest looks like a tip
I also loved really friendly ppl compared to the majority of the UK similar ppl to Newcastle & Glasgow
So of all the far-flung places in the world Celines travelled with you to... she drew the line at Hartlepool? 😉
Haha. Yes! But she was in Ireland with her family, otherwise she’d have enjoyed Hartlepool. Maybe

It was better up until about three years ago when it became little Africa. We had a good run...

Totally agree.
Every Town and City in this country people sell drugs openly now.
Don't come to Hartlepool. Ever.
The place is a bump don't know why anybody would want to go there.
