    Thank U so much JenZZi for the assessment highest authorities have carried out from 2014 until August 2024 on the European Continent, hopefully will brighten the perspectives in social structures /military strategy and will reward societies with valid leaders. Huge Hague 🐻‍❄️

    This is the least expected podcast, and includes two of the most influential men in Norway. This is Amazing 😃💪🏻

    It was a really great conversation. As with previous episodes, the host did a lot of preparation for the questions, especially by reading the interviewee's book twice. This is why Nicolai's podcast has quickly become one of my favorites this year. The only downside of the show is the strong "it's all the other side's fault" narrative, and Nicolai didn't challenge this perspective with questions from other angles. Anyway, thanks for another great podcast.

    Tangen treffer blinken igjen med et veldig godt intervju. Alltid hyggelig å høre fra Jens, selv om det er tøffe temaer som krigen i Ukraina.

    Here's a thought: Jens mentions that the fund has grown so much - sitting now at around 1,750 billion USD - that there is a risk due to the exposure the fund has in public equities which are volatile in nature. What if your fund allocated 10 billion USD which represents less than 0.5% of AUM (just to say a number as an example), to create a venture capital firm investing in your private markets, similar to David F. Swensen's strategy with Yale's endowment. By doing so, you could create distinct verticals where Norway can strive to be best-in-class and attract top talent from around the world.

    38:20 The state budget was 500 billion in 2001, doubled to 1000 billion by 2012, and double again to 2000 billion by 2026. The government size has ballooned in a way that is not comparable with our neighboring countries, and is certainly a result of oil wealth. So I would push back slightly here. You could argue it's still within the spending rule, but it's likely we're well past the point of diminishing returns. And none of the political parties are talking about slowing this development. Politicians are definitely spending. Very good episode by the way, always interesting to hear Stoltenberg speak.

    I am interested in finding out how the Scandinavians managed to build a quality social system and avoid brutal liberal capitalism. I expected a much more rational and balanced analysis now that he is no longer in office and paid by NATO, but he seems not to be interested in what the peoples of Europe want and are increasingly voting in elections.

    It is really hard to tell if Stoltenberg is stupid, hypocritical or evil (or all). The two assumptions that he made, as he has been saying the same all the time, that 1) Ukraine was a free and democratic country and 2) Putin has the ambition to take over Ukraine and later to conquer other parts of Europe, are simply the most ridiculous ever.

    Interesting interview. But the hunting... very disappointing. Dear Jens, next time you go to a forrest you better take a camera instead of a gun. It's so sad, so pointless... taking an innocent life... :( You really don't have to kill anyone. Tat tvam asi. Think about it, thank you.

      Yep, a bit shocking for me too. I didn't know he killed animals. I thought he's more sensible, empathiethic. Disappointing and sad indeed 😟

    • @Gorrhyse
      @Gorrhyse Місяць тому +2

      Unless you are a vegan, or even a vegetarian, from an ideological standpoint, this is such nonsense. If you are a meateater and actually eat what you hunt, how is (regulated) hunting worse than supporting the industrial meat industry? PS: I dont hunt myself.

    • @Margitha
      @Margitha Місяць тому +2

      @@Gorrhyse I have been vegan for over 20 years. Ethical reasons. The problem is that most ppl don't recognise that an animal is a subject not an object. And about hunters... it's just so hard to understand how one can kill another just like that, for no reason. Some ppl eat animals but they say they couldn't kill the animal themselves, and a hunter makes the decision with cold blood - heart and brain switched off. That's so scary and sad, as if there was not enough violence in this world. Oh, well... It's just my little disappointment. Life's taught me not to demand much from ppl. You can only demand from yourself.
