Thank you for watching and for your feedback. You are correct. It is knowledge but memory helps us recall information that we may have unwittingly learned over the years. I hope you join us again in future quizzes. Thank you once again!
Apparently Alfred the Great made Winchester the first capital. I think it depends on which period is under consideration but we are interested to learn if you have information to the contrary.
@quizpich But your question is formed in a way that you are asking for the capital JUST prior to London, not the first capital. You didn't know there was more than one did you? If you did, then the question is either a trick question or poorly phrased.
@quizpich Yes it could have been. You are reaching out to people to teach them, they need to be able to trust that A. Your sources are correct, and B. Your questions are clear and concise. I know you are trying to offer entertainment, and that's cool ... but there is a a serious aspect to conveying, you know what you are talking about. Thank you for responding.
I think some questions are phrased poorly, but not sure how this one is a trick question. Both North and South Dakota are separate states in their own right. Dakota is simply a wrong answer.
May i put forward a suggestion? You said in your intro that not many will pass. Can you post what you consider a passmark in the comments? Otherwise, I'm going to assume 50% is a pass, and that is easy!
I think 50% as a pass is reasonable but I realise that some will find this easy. We try to incorporate a wide breadth of knowledge which we hope makes it quite challenging. Perhaps you feel we should make it more difficult?
@quizpich it's not the difficulty level I'm questioning. That is obvious. (Everyone knows what they know, some know different things, so making it more difficult would play into another's knowledge base) It's the ambiguity of your opening statement that few would pass, then you leave them hanging as to what a pass is.
@quizpich sure, if you think 50% is a challenge, if it were me, and you're not, I'd go at least 80% as a pass. At 50%, you'd have to change your statement that 'not many would pass', unless you think we are all a bit thick, which I'm sure you don't.
@@nukasnook1561 I will take that into consideration for future quizzes because I know that my audience is very smart! Thanks once again for your input!

It was fun, thank you. It is not a matter of memory , is a matter of knowledge.

Surely Colchester was the capital of England before London?

@@nukasnook1561 With regards the capital, we are aware that there were other contenders. Perhaps the phrasing should have been clearer.

I find the music extremely annoying 😢
Thanks for your feedback. Sorry you found the music irritating. We do try to make the music soft but some prefer to have the audio off.
I always mute it on these kind of videos.
@@StephenLyons-tl8ie Thanks for your feedback on the music.

Yeah it's not great. I mute too. But they are limited because of copyright I guess.
271/2 from 30. I knew it was Dakota but not North Dakota! Trick question!

Gave up after 12 questions, clicking like an idiot, getting full screen / getting pause. Shame because I was enjoying the actual quiz (11 of of 12)
